The light switch affect..I have been separated/divorced for 3 years now and this finally made it make sense. Thank you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/02/24 04:02 PM

Can’t make this upMy story is nearly the same. I'm so sorry. Here's a bit of light for the tunnel: After 3 false 911 calls and 2 unfounded CPS claims over about a year, I went to my lawyer and applied for a change of custody and 50/50 time based on "weaponization" of public services. My ex of course freaked out and objected and told the judge I was an undiagnosed narcissist. Funny side note, the judge asked her if she was a mental health professional. When she said no, the judge ordered a custody evaluation for b… | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/01/24 04:14 PM

New Study Shows Approx. 55% of Men in US are Covert Narcissists.I wish we could just delete that word from the common vernacular and make them actually state what is wrong. It's a blanket term they embrace. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/06/23 02:47 AM
Would you marry again?I second this. I was happy before marriage, happier in it, and now trying to find that version of me that was happy before her. It's been almost 2.5 years since we separated and I'm just now seeing the corner to turn ahead. We have a child so the constant interaction keeps the wound open. But, as you said, I'm closer to my child than I would have been in it. And I wouldn't trade her for whatever I'm feeling now. TL;DR Big risk, big return | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/06/23 02:11 AM
Got everything I wanted at courtI really needed to hear this today. Congrats and cross your fingers for me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/05/23 02:07 AM
What did y’all do about your social media? Scrub it? Start over?Yeah, pretty much just stopped posting or using FB or IG. Didn't delete everything of her like she did of me. It was a part of my life. I won't delete that. But I just don't even use social media anymore since the divorce. Just anonymous ole reddit. Not much I'm proud of right now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/02/23 11:17 PM
Moving Assets to a Offshore TrustI'm not a lawyer but I think if it's been disclosed, they can apply the value to US assets. I have a friend whose ex took off to Thailand during the proceedings yet stayed in touch. The court determined that since child support was unenforceable, she was given all assets. ETA: she was given all US assets | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/01/23 09:45 PM

How to cope with divorce and regrets.Good job. I got almost what I wanted but better than the crap she tried to throw on me. Evidence works, even in Mommy states. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/09/22 02:18 AM
How to cope with divorce and regrets.Yes, we have a toddler at 65/35 so frequently. She seems happy and says "who knows what will happen in the future". I played into that for a long time and am just now starting to realize that it's just another manipulative tactic to keep me where she wants me: vying for her attention. Definitely not easy, but I'm gaining my own foothold slowly. You may always miss her. I think I may. But we both need to find ourselves in the meantime. | 9 | How to cope with divorce and regrets. So much this. I feel like I could have written exactly this myself. You're not alone. She made terrible accusations about me and we responded in kind except with proof as you did. Somehow I don't seem to focus on those terrible glimpses of her true self and idolize a fictional version of the 12 years we spent together. I'm 2 years out now and can tell you it doesn't go away. But I am finding out I am a different person than I was 12 years ago. I'm finally finding the joy in discovering the new, … | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/09/22 07:37 PM
