I would say pubs are way better places for that - there are older people there and you can actually talk. I didn't really try to put those guys down or smth.. I was more like a jokingly said/fun vibe when I made that comment. I have a bit of trouble letting lose on the dancefloor, feel like people are staring etc.. It can be helpful to arrive at the club a little bit early so you can warm up socially by chatting up people who work there at the venue, both men and women.
