I don't think you understand how this works. There are plenty of other great actors, but you can't say that any one of them is "the best." For instance, I saw "The Adjustment Bureau" for the first time last night. I thought Matt Damon played his part very well and it was a very entertaining movie. I'm no expert on these things, but wouldn't a DNA test prove that this never happened? Aren't rape victims normally advised to undergo some sort of examination that might provide forensic evidence? That six month plea is gone once you go to trial, and the innocent and criminals alike have to gamble with their lives. Unfortunately, this is all too true, especially with cases pertaining to gender-related crimes. If the prosecution wants you badly enough, they can build a case on just about anything — even if you're innocent — often just for the sake of making an example of someone, as you say. All they have to do is convince a jury that you're guilty.

Ever heard of the phrase "innocent until proven guilty?" The burden of proof is on the prosecutor, not the defendant. It is not his responsibility to prove that he didn't commit a crime, it's up to the accuser to provide facts and evidence that support the case that he did commit one.
