Answer: No. I think it's a misconception that failed relationships = male (usually provider) pays up. Though the system does favor females and especially mother's. There have been cases that the female whom is top provider having to pay alimony but those are far and in-between. The credit card would need to be co-signed by both parties and both parties agreed what it would be used for, specifically paying of spouse debt. You would have to be in a common-law relationship for at least two years and the assets would need to be aquired during that relationship. Bitch can't just walk in and automatically own all your shit off the bat... In Canada, you cannot inherit debt, and it cannot be transferred to you. You would only become responsible for your spouse's debt if it were jointly held.
