| 2 | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.Between work and school.. I sometimes wonder. xD VAWA does that, with one of society's basist. Vawa is bad, I have always wanted changes in the name and garbage you have to read through to get to the core bill and it is very one-sided. The misconception that I have always hated though, is that I kept hearing that VAWA specifically denies funding to ALL male assistance. It's a bad bill, but I REALLY hate when people "don't read" something that they vehemently fight against. That's because I don't… | /r/MensRights | 10/01/13 01:52 PM |
| 2 | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.Sorry for the late reply and the rushed look of what I will type. I just typed up everything and hit the back button on my mouse; lost it all and actually pretty pissed about that. I needed a break from the gender stuff because it was getting to me and I got busy over the holiday season, then forgot entirely about everything I was doing on Reddit. There were once laws and systems in effect (heart balm suits, alienation of affection laws) which are no longer in existence because of the old MRM - … | /r/MensRights | 06/01/13 07:49 PM |
| 1 | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism. While this is true (and I am one of them - I'm pissed as hell about the things that have been done to the men in my life by women empowered by feminist-lobbied legislation) it doesn't pan out into "The MRM will become what feminism is" because it's female leaders who set the tone for those lobbies, female leaders who run the various Radfem sites, and female leaders who lead the protests and campaigns to get those laws passed We will have to see. Even if the MRM is old, it never really was big en… | /r/MensRights | 09/12/12 04:43 AM |
| 1 | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.(I was going to wait to reply but that's silly because you can always reply with what you wanted to say anyway.) There would thus be no harm in having that standard, as its application would be limited to undisputed cases. I can understand that now. Throwing children into a discussion on consent is a red herring. Sorry about that unintentional herring. It's just something that relates to a personal experience and I shouldn't have used that as the main point. Still, I look at your comment below a… | /r/MensRights | 08/12/12 02:32 AM |
| 1 | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.Custody I see what you mean about that, I'm sorry that your husband had to go through such a mess and that his ex seems extremely psychotic. Can't trust anyone to be in the right mind. The only problem in the arrangement you proposed, was the idea that a parent might believe the other parent is violent after the breakup. However, in all honesty, I'm sure an escort could be provided, even if at the expense of the parent that requested it. I really think they should leave the parent's gender out o… | /r/MensRights | 07/12/12 06:02 AM |
| 1 | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism. My own thought on this is pretty basic. I agree. Nobody should be forced to own or support a child against their will. It is not only unfair but causes discontent, fosters an unfair and unhealthy concept of balance and responsibility. The leading argument is that a mother might not be able to handle work and parenthood without sacrificing one or the other. however I have never liked the result of this because it's simply unfair for someone to be forced to pay for a child that isn't even part of … | /r/MensRights | 05/12/12 10:10 PM |
| – | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.Bit of a side line question but seeing your a male feminist do you think women have privilege? I am just curious as when ever I point this out feminists in general are quick to say women have no privilege. I think there are areas where men are treated unfairly. There is definitely issues with parenthood and legal sentencing as well as social stigmas where women have more options than men. Do you think women are gaining up on men to gain dominance and power? I could defend some of that, more or less the genuine nature of my intent, This comment is unclear. That comment was to say that something should be done about the way fatherhood is handled. Even if you had to be a WRA to be a MRA and an MRA to be a WRA, it's something to weed out the sick and twisted. That's my personal thought. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism. Please, go on /r/feminism and say "all men should be castrated" and see what the top rated replies are. I was just stating an argument to the idea that feminist should support the MRA. You're not making sense. You're attacking my defense as if I was saying MRA should help feminism. I never said that. | – | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism. So do I, but at least talking about it even online is better than nothing tho. Part of the reason I think for the lack of activism is well we carry highly unpopular views that even feminists in general say are sexists and even misogyny in nature. While there are risks in being an activist I am not sure how many of us have lives to risk in doing so. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.Hah, if I could "make" every extremists or political tyrant "leave" feminism, I'd gladly do it. | – | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.I know what it stands for, but the name of a bill has no meaning. it's about what's inside the bill People in the MRA have said some nasty crap too. | – | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism. If I seen more rhetoric like that around here, I'd feel less unhappy about the movement. Unfortunately, the person I am replying to basically says he has no women in his life, therefore he has no reason to care about women's rights. He also blatantly said that feminists would have him castrated at birth which makes no sense to me. He is a bad example of fairness. | /r/MensRights | 03/12/12 07:50 PM |

I don't think it is. SRS fempire is exactly what it is. It's a female oriented 4chan. | – | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism. This is blatantly false, unless you have a different definition for rights than the reality. MRAs advocate for equal treatment. Feminists advocate for preferential treatment. MRAs protest discriminatory law. Feminists protest the absence of anti-male discriminatory law. MRAs and feminists both decry social pressure to adhere to damaging and discriminatory gender roles - but feminists blame that pressure on men, where that blame is not merited. | – | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.Yeah possibly. I would actually rather it be more about activism. I think it has a similar but completely different stigma that makes people afraid of the word feminism. Many people dislike the name. I think Egalitarianism's only fault is exposure. Feminism gets much more exposure and has a longer history despite it's one-sided name. I think less people would be threatened by a more neutral term. And no, I don't use the word patriarchy. It's a pointless generalization of more intricate issues. | /r/MensRights | 03/12/12 01:10 PM |
| 4 | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.Well, hopefully I see more of them, because the mere mention of me being a feminist is often the topic which gets most ire from /r/mensrights users. I have seen a few that don't care, but I have also had a lot of debate as to whether someone can agree with me or not simply over the fact that I Identify as a feminist. I didn't see the post you were referring to, but regardless, it's not the case that the whole of feminism is this giant man-hate machine. | – | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.Yeah, quite true. It's sad that it has to be this way. I have looked at that protest in shame and disgust. Those people, those ignorant little groups are what define feminism in the media. So many of us would never do that, yet this is how every single feminist is viewed for a lot of the MRA and /r/MensRights. I wish I could separate the crazies. | /r/MensRights | 03/12/12 10:30 AM |
| – | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.Yeah, I can agree that "Men can stop rape" is a bad ad campaign, but in it's defense, the ads are actually targeting friends of potential rapists and not calling men rapists directly. It's often misquoted as "Only men can stop rape" It's dumb to say "Men" though when it would be better to say "Friends can stop rape" MCSR isn't something I'm very fond of. | – | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.I honestly see more feminists being very supportive when it comes to men being raped. there is a fairly strong feminist support for male rape victims. However, I do see your point that there is a general disdain for feminism and some of the extremists. As well, feminism is often blamed for things they simply didn't fix. To call it that is only a simplification of the underlying traditionalism. Traditional society is where gender roles comes from. This isn't about men or women. This is about a societal structure that needs to be torn down and made smaller. I feel that I am a feminist. You have nobody to care about that would make you stop fighting. You're obviously pretty hateful to think that feminists want you castrated at birth. What else would make you think that? | -1 | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.Yeh. I think my biggest concern is that fighting for women's rights as a feminist, and men's rights as an MRA, means that people who hate the other gender are empowered. I want both names to change to the other's gender. Maybe Masculinists for women's rights and Feminist for men's rights. lol The problem is that as much as I support equality for men. it literally sickens me to support the seething hatred and contempt that drives some people here. | – | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism.I find that kinda hard to believe though. I rarely find someone into both men's and women's rights. I would LOVE to see more of that but I see more MRAs into neither. If you support both then I'm all for it, but I don't support people who think only one gender has problems that should be addressed. I heard too much of that "NAFALT" from MRA supporters and not even as much from feminists. And count me among the feminists who appreciate the MRM allies. :) I understand that people can be a bit bitter, but I think we can both agree that the resentfulness and bitter hate within our respective communities is what poisons both movements and makes it hard for us to fight for equality. | – | Well this is new. A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism. Why should feminism support a movement that's trying to deconstruct and destroy it? Why should I as a feminist even care about the MRM until it gets more feminist friendly? Unlike MRAs apparently, if I see an MRA supporting a woman's rights, I want to praise it as I have done in the past, but the general view here is to never support a feminist even if that feminist is on your side. | /r/MensRights | 03/12/12 02:31 AM |

A feminist forum bringing awareness of men's rights issues, but still calling it feminism. Most of the time it's extremism or politicians that have not been influenced by feminism in the least. Actually, enemies of feminism are often grouped with feminism because it's convenient. I find it funny that we have a thread about a feminist supporting men's rights and everyone is trying to turn it into some subversive tactics. I hate when people run around with a number shield. Statistics are only 0.936% relevant to 23.2% of people. Statistics dumb down a rather philosophical debate and personal perspective. | – | texas: gay man loses custody of his biological children to a surrogateIt's justice because women are inherently privileged, greedy and irresponsible. The theory speaks for itself. Even if the guy lied to her, so what? all she did was carry it. She probably deserved it too. Think of all the men that were lied to, only to have their children take away from them. The only gripe is that she probably won't pay for it like the men do. ;) Edit: I jest, I jest! Just trying to comprehend Erasmus' logic. Why there was no agreement is a bit shady if you ask me, but it's not up to me to say what information should have been known. Too many people think it is a fair comparison to put a 110lb model up against a 250lb MMA fighter. Such is an obvious attempt to belittle women who want to join the front lines. To say any test in the military is too much for any woman to accomplish is absurd and a shallow argument. | – | "Equality": Few female Marines step forward for infantry officer trainingI have always wanted the same reqs for women in the armed forces. Lowering the standards HURTS equality and feminism actually. A woman should not be told "Oh, you made it because your standards are lower" this is not what an equal rights supporter needs. I would rather 100 women pass every man's test than 1000 pass a lower test. It just pushes the others to work harder...which is a good thing. | /r/MensRights | 27/11/12 12:13 AM |

Traditionalists and extremists have warped the identity of the MRM and Feminism to put their beliefs into generic pools as defined by the person who writes the article, and make them seem more biased than they are. They appeal to angry, bitter souls who simply hate the other gender but don't want to say it aloud. The 'oppressed' don't think the 'oppressors' are better than them. I think the points that you're bringing up about men being only human, being imperfect, etc. have more to do with social pressures for masculinity, as I said originally. That's fight power for people to say "Rape is brought on by people that ask for it by hanging around the wrong places, wearing the wrong clothes, and being too submissive about it." Rape is a legitimate problem that happens to both men and women. slapping it with false rape accusations hurts the movement that supports neutralizing the problem. | 0 | "How can a girl rape a boy"I edited a sorry. It was irrational of me but after reading through the comments I had a bit of built up frustration. Y'all can keep badgering me on it if you want but I'm being honest. | /r/MensRights | 24/11/12 07:04 AM |
| 0 | "How can a girl rape a boy"Sorry. I admit, I got a little overexcited, but when I scrolled through all these comments and found this way below a sea of bickering.. it really shocked me. Not everyone is supportive (Especially not the one who origionally posted it XD) but I know what you mean. It is more or less generally supported and I was wrong for being so intense about it. I also felt it took a long time to reach this comment so it felt like it was really low on the list. | /r/MensRights | 24/11/12 04:08 AM |
| 1 | "How can a girl rape a boy"Okay, I pruned my comment but it basically said "I have never seen someone say "He deserved to be raped" In all honesty it is a rare case. but as pointed out, this entire pic was from a feminist owned website called "Project Unbreakable" | /r/MensRights | 24/11/12 03:57 AM |
| -11 | "How can a girl rape a boy"How is this not the TOP FUCKING COMMENT... oh right...we're on /r/mensrights and you effectively ruined their "Feminists hate all men" argument. Edit: Sorry. I got a little too excited. My feelings toward this statement are true but I should have been more modest in my approach, or said nothing at all. | /r/MensRights | 24/11/12 03:50 AM |
| 1 | "How can a girl rape a boy"You've never seen /b/? | /r/MensRights | 24/11/12 03:35 AM |
| 0 | "How can a girl rape a boy"But that's false. No more people say a man "Deserved to be raped" than they say women do, maybe even less. With the extreme exception of prison where it's based on the stereotype that men rape each other in prison cells. It's absurd to correlate that with men "deserving" rape. People just equate it to the extremities of a prison sentence. (Which is also stupid but unrelated) | /r/MensRights | 24/11/12 03:25 AM |
