I think the advise is right. After all, MGTOW are just being themselves. Of course, that doesn't get you laid.

Speak for yourself. You're just as crazy as the women who vote for Hillary just because she's a woman. Guy's a complete asshole, a womanizer and is totally for savage capitalism. Please don't use your vote to screw everyone just because you want to make a political statement.

My opinion is that if you are truly this type of person who doesn't want a relationship, who believes that women as a whole are manipulative, controlling, and irrational, then I'm glad you're out of the dating pool. Doesn't that go both ways? WHen more men "go their own way", women will end up finding themselves excluded from the dating pool, and realize that there is no dating pool anymore. Of course, the chances of that happening are pretty dim. But I'd rather die alone than live a life of mys…

Interesting "about" section: Della Burton became an MRA after weathering the direct impact of feminist advocacy on her family for years. She is the author of Breaking the Glasses, written from an anti-feminist perspective, with a focus on men's rights and sometimes social issues. She also writes and comments on reddit.com as oneiorosgrip.

Unless they specifically say that it's okay to have sex while they're passed out, it's not okay. Yes, I agree. However, this again becomes a problem of "he said / she said". He said she was NOT passed out, she said she was. And unfortunately, simply because she was drunk, whether she was passed out doesn't matter anymore, she simply was "unable to give consent". Which I say is total BS.

I think it would be more like "Hey, I'll leave the $100 in the kitchen. Now I'm going to get wasted. See ya tonight."

and therefore unable to consent to sex. This is totally fucked up. If she was drunk already, the point would be to analyze what her previous consent was. If I want sex and then get drunk, does that make me an instant rape victim just because I won't be able to consent? These laws are idiotic. Soon all women will need to be sober, have to sign a written agreement and have a videotape of their sexual affair showing that they did consent before having sex, in the presence of a lawyer.

The problem is the ambiguous use of "devious". In the article's context, devious means "convoluted", "not straight". Unfortunately, the common use of devious means "sick, twisted, evil".

My first thought about the article before reading it: "Women treat each other much worse than men." I thought "cool, an interesting find". And for a moment I thought this was in /r/foodforthought and not /r/mensrights. EDIT: READ THE ARTICLE, PEOPLE. Boys were more likely to have been pushed, shoved, hit, called names or insulted. I'd say that if it was consensual, then the teacher should just be given a warning and file it as a "first offense" in the school's personnel data.

I agree with this. However, I don't know any reasons why a person 15-17yo cannot have with someone who is 20-25, or even older. Heck, the law in some states makes a sexter a "distributor of child porn" when he/she's just playing around with his/her bf/gf. Sometimes I wonder whether lawmakers should go to an asylum instead.

I don't think this is a men's rights issue more than a human rights issue - especially because we're dealing with police brutality. /r/OcuppyWallStreet or /r/EvolutionReddit would be much better places for this news item.

And there are women who are lesbians for political reasons. Not because they are drawn to women, but because they wish to avoid men. Exactly. There was, after all, a lesbian movement that had nothing to do with natural homosexual attraction between females. Just take a look at this article from 1972: Bunch, Charlotte. "LESBIANS IN REVOLT". I think it's these "Lesbians" that the girl in the picture was talking about.

Wasn't this the plot of "Lady Chatterley's lover", book written in the beginning of the 20th century and severely censored for decades because of it being "immoral"? Anyway, what I don't approve of the article is the "men will be men, after all". That said, the story seems to have a happy ending: Rob’s commitment to Sarah is that he tries harder to share his feelings and work on creating a more emotionally intimate relationship. They both try to be conscious of the distant and disconnected roles…

I agree with you on that; Jezebel is full of radfems, and some of their articles make me want to throw up. But I'm just saying that if we want to rage, at least let's do it for the right reason (and don't forget there's /r/mensrants).

Guys, haven't you learned anything after all these years? The fastest way to go downhill is to accuse people of things they didn't do. Feminism is a good thing when it's actually needed I've been reading into 19th century England. Women couldn't own properties, couldn't get a college education, and were considered physically and intellectually inferior to men. They really had it rough back then. Here in Mexico problems with the law favoring women are scarse. On the contraty, the problems for women are much more accentuated, mainly because the "machista" culture is still spreaded all over the country. Laws protecting women are usually limited to (or applied in) big cities, where the education level is above the average. Online, I consider myself an MRA in support of men in the US. But locally, I would consider myself a "feminist" (in the popular understanding of the word). It's not uncom…

This reminds me of "leftist" political movements in Latin America. Instead of working to provide solutions, they just say "no" to everything that the right-wing parties propose. As a result, more people are poor, their conditions worsen, and suddenly then they blame EVERYTHING on the government. Their follower base increases, so they can do more protesting and suck more money from their followers.

In the future, I see this kid become socially awkward, being unable to get any girlfriend at all because he gets terrified of being accused of raping or abusing a girl just for trying to make an advance on her. I didn't have many friends in school, and this feeling of "being one of the guys" is something new and uplifting for me. Thanks, OP. P.S. That is not involuntary. They voluntarily choose to believe the religion of their parents. A child? Exercising a mature, conscious decision to accept or reject something that they are taught? You got to be kidding me. Indoctrination does not literally insert a belief into someone's mind. They still have to make the choice to NOT think critically about the belief they're being indoctrinated with and to accept said indoctrination. But not everyone is equipped with the ability to think critically. …
/r/MensRights13/04/13 07:18 AM
1

Belief is a voluntary cognitive process, and therefore a choice. We do not involuntarily believe. Oh yes, we do. This is why children end up believing (most of the time) the religion of their parents. But beliefs can be broken, and they can be forced on people. This is precisely what indoctrination means.
/r/MensRights13/04/13 07:06 AM

It is a poisonous trend meant specifically to turn you against your own mind. Do your best to think it out and realize why it is silly to say or think "I choose to believe free will doesn't exist." But that's a circular argument, you see. If there's no free will, someone choosing to believe doesn't actually CHOOSE to believe. He just thinks he CHOOSES to. But belief isn't a choice. It's a cognitive process.
/r/MensRights13/04/13 06:54 AM
1

It's a great counter argument as long as you realize the trend to deny the existence of free will is laughable bullshit. Didn't people think exactly the same thing about Men's Rights Activism? Or if we go back a few centuries, about atheism? My point: Unless you can objectively prove that there is a soul (or something that emulates it), and that this something renders us immune to external influences so that we can take our own decisions, then your case for free will is moot.

Yes. I would put it this way: We have will, but it's not a 100% free will; Our will depends on our natural desires, our hopes and fears, our education and past experiences.

Additionally, if you are aware society made you one way or another and it's detrimental, it is an ethical (again, ethics emerge from human experience as it exists and is known by humans) failing, and you are 'responsible' for it and your lack of wherewithal in addressing it. Which leads to the self-reflection and improvement part: Is my way of thinking product of bad experiences, and not of a thorough, objective analysis of society? Are my bad sentiments toward others based on a reduced sample s…

If we had 'true' free will, we'd be able to see into every possibility given any particularly amount of datum. We're simply not intelligent enough beings to do so, but we'd definitely be more 'moral' if we had this power. Exactly. The more information a person has, the more free their will becomes. And if he/she can get the means to resist his/her primal desires, or "instant gratification", the freer he/she will be. But I digress.
/r/MensRights13/04/13 01:22 AM
3

Please don't ask me how that works, my head asploded when I tried to follow it. Maybe because it could have contained pseudoscience? Anyway, my point is that free will isn't exactly a good counter-argument.

I think it's because it's in India, and there rape is a farily common event. Furthermore, victim-shaming is very common in there, and honor killings are ordinary. It's a country where the law constantly leans on the side of men and against women, i.e. forced marriages. As much as I hate the term, that IS a patriarchal country. Expect little or no help from the law. So I can imagine a woman living in there, recently raped, unable to sue the offender. The logical choice is to run amok. All choices…

I'm wondering if they're posting this so that the Men's Right Movement ends up appearing redundant. Also, I hate how they blame the patriarchy for everything. Someone on reddit recently commented to me that I should seek therapy, but thinking about it the problem I notice is that I don't think these fears are irrational From a philosophical point of view, think about this: Let's talk about Joe. Joe has an irrational fear of aliens. It turns out that Joe is suffering from schizophrenia or some chemical disorder in his brain. He needs medicine. Joe needs to be taken to a doctor, but part of his illness lies in that he believes he doesn't need a doctor. …

I think the problem about birth control is that the person most likely to suffer from pregnancy should be given the ability to avoid it. Outside the US, in third world countries, it's women who suffer most from pregnancy, due to having to give birth and because abortion is outlawed (i.e. Mexico). In the US, however, men are more likely to suffer, because of the expenses, lawsuits, etc. So yes, birth control should be available for both.

Another case of where everybody loses after one person's complaint. Maybe that "butthurt mother" wasn't actually allowed in the dance and this was very important for her? So what about lesbian mothers? When a culture alienates someone because of their gender, no matter how beautiful it is, it's wrong. They only have to change the dances to allow special cases. Anyway, check the article for more info: "The controversy that has suddenly arisen in a political campaign over father-daughter dances in…

This reasoning is flawed. It's not that men are potential rapists, it's that rapists ALREADY EXIST and that they're ACTIVELY looking for targets. I'm not a regular here (or at least I don't come as often as a self-proclaimed MRA would do), but I'm subscribed, mainly because I'm a man, and I identify myself with the men who become victims of misandrist policies. I wholeheartedly agree. Smiling is VERY important for a woman, it makes her much more attractive. I've seen women smile and laugh while talking on the phone with their boyfriends, and they look radiant, beautiful, angelic. On the other hand, if a woman is worried about... whatever, or angry, upset, etc... her facial muscles twist her into some kind of japanese demon. To OP: You should appear inviting and happy.

I'm not saying rape wouldn't be considered bad. I was just wondering if it got explicitly condemned in the laws of the time. In the Biblical accounts, we don't see the queen of Egypt accusing Joseph simply of rape. He was a stranger, and she was the queen. In other passages of the Bible, rape isn't considered evil because of the transgression to the woman, but because she might BELONG to a particular man. In case she doesn't, the rapist is forced to marry her. This had nothing to do with human r…

Yeah but the problem is... can you trust women based on what has happened to you? For 1000 women that are nice, one bad woman can ruin it all. (Same with men, and with everyone). I won't ever assert my will over another human being because I believe it is immoral. I've been waiting so long to answer an argument like this. I don't get how this helps women in any way. Non-rapists will just tend to be more careful around girls and be suspicious of them, potentially ruining future relationships due to paranoia. Decriminalizing prostitution will definitely help prostitutes. Why? 1. Because they'll be able to have normal bank accounts and be able to certify that they have a regular income. 2. They'll have access to social security, and perhaps, be able to have access to a pension when they retire. 3. Because they'll be able to have access to legal services to avoid being exploited or mistreated. 4. The problem with criminalizing prostitution is that it makes things harder for prostitutes. Because it becomes an underground job, there's no available social security (depends on the country), facilitates exploitation by pimps, essentially perpetuates the slavery condition. As long as there's poverty, there will be prostitutes. And until you can't erradicate poverty, prostitutes are forced to hide from the police and be tied to criminals and gangsters. In other words, a moralist agenda by the g…

The one I talk most about is "Emotional Intelligence". It's not a book about getting in touch with your emotions - rather to understand how emotional you become, and how to recognize your impulses, learning to overcome childhood traumas, traumas with women, abandonment, rejection, etc. I can say it changed my entire life! The other books are the "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. People can say he's a fraud and that all his investments are his own books. But he managed to teach me one thin…

Okay, let's put this as an RPG. Do you quit because you get killed 15 times in a row at level 1? Of course not. So don't despair. Been there, done that.

I had always been a wimp. Bullied, low self-esteem, isolation from other people at school, etc. Knowing I could become stronger would have changed everything. EDIT: Also, and perhaps more important, I had overestimated the power of grades. I also sacrificed social life for studying.

Not exactly social dynamics related, but I had always believed that a skinny guy like me could NEVER develop a nice musculature. I had thought only guys who were already muscular could develop. "I'm skinny, it's in my genes", I thought. Had I known what I know now at 35, I would have started weight training and eating better since 12. It would have totally changed my life.

Seduction newbie here. From what I've read, many of the techniques here is only to get the girl to become interested in you. The rest depends on you actually being an interesting and worthy person. I've also read that a women just ignores a guy precisely because she believes he's only trying to have sex with her. In reality, most guys just want a girlfriend. (Whether or not sex is implied in a relationship, is another business). Men come in here to answer a riddle: How do I approach the girl I l…

Don't forget how many girls force guys into developing PUA tactics by being pure bitches (and manipulative bitches, even. cough friendzoned cough) If girls were more open to being approached and stopped judging guys by their appearances, we wouldn't need to do any of this shit.

Wow. A book with these findings would become the sexual equivalent to "Emotional Intelligence". EDIT: spelling.

Um, why would you debate egalitarians if you already agree with them? (EDIT: Grammar)

My point is that career expectations seem to overestimate one factor: One's free time. You can't raise kids and have a successful job at the same time. Unless you happen to be an entrepreneur and little by little you start hiring people to take care of the biz' responsibilities.

Not all MLM are pyramid schemes. Sure, they look pyramidal, but as long as sales are done, business runs OK. The problem is when companies make income magically from nothing, and then it turns out that the income is from the new members' inscription fees.

No, she has a career AND has to work on a MLM to get some extra cash.

A close female friend (that I know very well) has a good career, married a man who earns way or more, they share housework equally, and she hasn't sacrificed her career for his. She's way over 30, has two little kids... and her life IS A FUCKING MESS. They're filled with debts to the neck, she has so many things in her mind that has barely time to take care of her kids, can't afford a fulltime nanny, and is struggling with one of these MLM businesses to try to keep their income above their debts…

Women want to be treated equally. However, when it's time to take out the garbage, suddenly "it's a boy's job".

Hi. I'm 35yo, and all my friends are either married or moved out of the city. After staying home for nearly all my life (I've always been such a geek), I bought new clothes, purchased books on flirting and misc. literature (fashion / health / misc. novels, self-help) etc. to expand my horizons. So, after shaking off my nerdy lifestyle, I've tried going to bars / pubs / etc. and I've found it horribly difficult to do a first approach without a wingman to support me. I've managed to take one or tw…

Yes, you were right in hitting back. However, I think you should have not allow the verbal fight to escalate. In my opinion, you're still too immature (both you and your sister). Yes, you have the right to defend yourself. But by doing so you deny your right to be treated in a civilized manner. Defending your rights as a man does not mean a free pass to behave violently.

Is posting crimes committed against humanity a human rights issue? EDIT: Posting is called Journalism. If these stories aren't posted, nobody will find out, and nobody will protest and do something about it.

Me and my girlfriend of one year had a kid... I am most afraid of having to pay child support for the rest of my life. D'uh. Nice work at being responsible, you jerk.

You know what's sexist? That a girl can go to a bar, have guys invite her drinks, and then brush them off with some stupid excuse, until she finds some guy that she actually likes, have him do tons of favors for her, to end up with "awww you're so nice, let's just be friends". And then they wonder why men are a bunch of liars who only "use" them.
