To be honest this just tells me that universities are going to be less important in the future. I think we probably have too many universities, and perhaps we might shift towards specialized research institutions. Any university that adopts a non-merit hiring process will be out-competed in the global rankings anyway.

It is interesting that society, even liberal societies are so sex-negative. If this was anything other than sex, we wouldn't be having this debate. And on top of being sex-negative, this legislation continues the actually damaging shaming of male sexual behavior.
