+10000 .. at least folk that are drunk or high are too fucked up at the time to realize their mistake and it lets to a series of bad decisions [i.e. drunk driving is purely a crime to placate suburban moms and is one of the few strict liability, not mens rea, crimes for that reason]. It's not illegal at all. Me and my co-worker, both white males, were hired on the same day to do the same job on the same team; I make 15℅ more than him based on the same reason women often make less, because they suck at salary negotiation. You get paid what you negotiate, your worth or the work itself is irrelevant as all that does is set the lower/upper bounds of your final starting salary.

No,it's illegal to have sexual imagery of anybody under 18 period hard stop near always stick liability no mens rhea required. i.e. you can legally fuck them as long as you don't take a picture. To further explode your brain in nearly every case it's less jail time to violently rape a child than photograph them naked playing in a field of daisy's. LOL wishing away inconvenient facts doesn't make them false. Circumcision is proven to reduce ones risk of contracting (and therefore spreading) HIV; well documented in the scientific and research literature. Places where HIV is epidemic have a high resistance to condom's and low prevalence of circumcision hence spread more easily than it should. Facts suck I know.

I'm just not sure this is as much about women as folk think in this case, it's about protecting fellow criminal justice employees in the same way a male guard, cop, prosecutor, judge would gave gotten a similar deal. The only real surprise here was the Judge rejecting it. Still this won't change the result, the prosecutor will do his damnedest to lose the case and the jury won't convict.

I can't speak towards extremely patriarchal societies (i.e. some of the more hardline Islamic nations or Japan) but it's definitely not just a western phenomenon.
