That's a blatant lie. Good luck finding decent work with a CC on your resume - there's no network, there's no prestige. Waste of time all around.

Not an expert (not even close), but I don't think you need to change that aspect of yourself. Don't be a doormat though - learn to notice if you're being taken advantage of. No woman likes someone spineless, but at the same time, I know plenty of women who would your whole 'doing something nice for people' thing extremely sweet and charming.
