You don't always need to be doing great financially, the goal in life is to be happy and as your title says, you are. Going after more and more money while can definitely make people happier granted it aligns with their goals, isn't what some strive for. You might not be working as many hours and live a stress free minimalist lifestyle, which in return is what's giving you this happiness. Everyones different but you sound very content with what you have and just saying thats an awesome thing.

I have, its not possible in my current role. I usually work 60+ hours a week. Going part is something id like to do in the future, when I feel like slowing down even more. Im only 25 so building a nest egg is still important, then when I can Id love to work 3-4 days a week

Awesome man. I remember when I was calculating monthly spending averages, I was shocked by the small things you mentioned. Quick coffee in the morning, road tolls, sometimes pay for parking etc. I now have coffee at home and dont use tolls or ever pay for parking. If you calculate that shit its crazy over 10 years how much youll spend on that stuff. People dont realise, because in singular form theyre such small expenses. Great post. I think its hammered into our heads that unless you’re earning the maximum you can, you’re lazy or an under achiever. This is taught to us so that the government can tax us more and we more than likely take on larger debts and turn to consumerism to fuel the sadness. Unless you really love the job to take on that extra stress and loss time, or have dependents that require that sort of income, I believe its simply not worth it, especially if a simple, stress-free lifestyle is desire.

Yeah my savings rate is VERY high, I hardly buy much outside of bills and the occasional video game. My original idea was as you said, tough out the job for probably a few more years, keeping the saving margin up high. I would never sell myself short and be unprepared financially for the future.
