You can become proficient in every subject with enough time invested. CS is no different. getting a 50-90k job in the field is no issue if you have the discipline to learn the basics required. getting to the top of the field is a different matter - there, you need a very solid intelligence base to compete

Being from CS myself, i can tell you that your resume is relatively week. Even if you have your fundamentals down, it will be difficult to get an interview. If you have any impressive class projects, add them to it. Otherwise start developing personal projects, preferrably in the area you want to work in. Other than that, dont be a sperg/Indian at the interviews and you will be ahead of the pack.

Property is not a liquid asset like cash is, but is an asset with an underlying value nonetheless. My point is that a rental property purchase does not imply that you are down, say, $400k, and have to wait for rental payments to finish coming in before turning actual profit. You are simply turning your liquid assets into non-liquid ones that let you generate value.

Keep in mind that by buying the property you retain your initial investment (+/- property value fluctuations that are also important to consider). So lets say you purchased the $400k property and rented it out year round for 4k/month. Now you have the underlying $400k property AND the rent income of $48k. Even if the property value goes down 10%, you are still $8k ahead.

OP can very well start learning those languages and getting the relevant skills while he is there. As I mentioned in my previous post, I would strongly recommend getting a degree. With a masters he should not have much trouble getting the core CS classes done in a few years. A year is a lot of time, where he can either just learn by himself to get an edge in the future, or even take classes to transfer into US universities. I would say that not having a computer science degree is a huge drawback, at least for a good chunk of your early career. Its easy to 'learn coding' - especially nowadays when there are so many resources for it, but it is a big challenge to become competent enough to get hired into a good job.
