That's horrifying. Imagine what goes into a candidate's mind when he/she isn't selected for a job. You make a person lose his/her morale and maybe drive him/her into depression while only caring about a bonus. What's more daunting is the fact that the candidate couldn't figure out what was wrong about his skills and knowledge because it was only his ethnicity that was wrong in the eyes of these hiring managers.

There's an initiative by Volvo cars called- "Equal vehicle for all" which aims at introducing female crash test dummies because all crash test dummies currently in the industry are male. We had a big bank visit our college for hiring students for job. All students shortlisted were women and were called directly for interviews (usually, there happens a screening process wherein you give an aptitude test followed by other rounds).
