Male teacher here as well. One thing I’ve noted over the years is how many male students NEED male teachers. The reasons vary, but I’ve heard many female teachers complain over and over again about a young man’s behavior, yet when he enters my classroom and becomes my student I see no problem at all. This has happened with student after student and I’m beginning to think that most of my female colleagues simply don’t have understanding of or patience for how the young males function.
