I’ve never heard of any guy doing something like this but wow that’s incredibly sweet of him to put her first like that. My boyfriend has never offered to share his food (even after I offered) and he’s also incredibly picky. He doesn’t eat vegetables and he hates seafood (which pains me the most because sushi is my favorite food of all time) 🙃

I’m so sorry that happened to you. I feel like guys like him try to act like gentlemen as a front. It does make me feel like a friend when we go 50/50 like it’s a hangout not a date. The funny thing is I’ve had guy friends who paid for everything before and they weren’t trying to date me. The guy I’m dating now and I had a few dates and he paid for one and I’d pay for the next. I’ve been taught by my parents that whoever I date should be the one who pays for everything. My ex had me go like 60/40 with him so he would either pay for the dinner and I pay for deserts after or something but sometimes that reverses. My mom raised me to have high standards for men and is really picky about the guys I date. Still to this day she criticizes all the guys I date and if she finds something (big or small) she doesn’t like about them, she’ll encourage me to end things with them.
