Can I ask you something? This has me thinking about it all, lol. Is hypergamy a deliberate decision? To 'date/marry up' and you don't have to answer this, do you think it is generally seen as positive, negative or neutral? I'm thinking back to a couple of my relationships and I know now a couple of people were hypergamous but if it was done deliberately. If that makes sense.

Absolutely. I agree with you with your definitions. Also with the caveat you mentioned because they are obviously forms of hypergamy. I have seen examples of it especially in dating profiles. They have never been deciders for myself and not something that I care about or consider. The whole height thing is particularly superficial and unnecessary. More fool you for dismissing a good person based on that. I appreciate I am one person so I can only speak for myself.

In short, 'marrying up'. Seeking to form a relationship or marrying someone superior - educational and/or sociological. The attraction for a partner better than they are. Not really being attracted to the same status only higher. How would you? Edit to add: I have 5 very close female friends and in my opinion I would say one would be considered hypergamous. I'd be curious to know though if it's something she would agree with.

I'll be completely honest, from what I've seen the idea has come from men that all women are hypergamous. Its just not a thing to a lot of women and there's nothing to admit. If it is in fact taboo to discuss, it's probably because it is one gender telling the other what they think and feel. I'd assume that men wouldn't like a woman telling them how a man is when they have never lived as one. If we disagree then we are told we are lying.

Nobody will be paying for me and I won't be paying for anyone. I don't care what they do as long as they can pay their own bills, not mine. What their occupation is is not really relevant as long as they can support themselves. I'm a woman and my idea of hell would be having someone pay for me or expect me to pay for them. I'm not looking to date but if I did, mutual respect and meet in the middle. Thats my own personal opinion and each to their own and I don't judge. As long as you're happy and…

There is no way the weakest man is stronger than the strongest woman. If it makes you feel better you believe it go for it but there is absolutely no way. Most people know how stupid that old saying is. An 86 year old woman kicked the arse of a twenty something burglar. It comes down to the person. Also, no size isn't always an indication of strength. I'd tell your friend to dismiss that notion. Sometimes it is very hard to judge from looks alone.

Yes!! I completely agree. I wouldn't want it any other way. I'm a woman and it really irks me when I see women wanting or saying they need a 'provider' - no you don't! I will never want or need that. I have my own money and always will. It's up to others how they choose to live but I will always take care of myself especially financially. I've never met a woman in real life that wanted to be taken care of but unfortunately I've seen it on here. I want someone who is financially stable so they ar…

TRP is a smoke screen. On the surface, like MGTOW, it is about men improving themselves. Blow the smoke away and its really about putting women down and men up. The hypocrisy within it is astounding (It is unforgivable for a woman to use a man but the men who use women are congratulated). It says all men are superior and all women should be owned, dominated and basically have zero rights. It's obviously great for men with certain beliefs to congregate and be applauded for treating women badly. I…

There's a recent post in AskRP that couldn't get more hypocritical. Titled "Using a slut financially" https://www.reddit.com/r/asktrp/comments/mjymlv/using_a_slut_financially/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share These are some of the most popular comments: "Use her" "Quit being a pussy. Stop asking us for permission. Squeeze out every drop. Sell some of those gifts for cash. Enjoy it while it lasts" "These chicks do these things to us on the regular and you’re asking if it’s okay to do them …

Obviously just because it's been a certain way in the past doesn't mean it would be the same now. Yes maybe in the past the men were frontline but lets not pretend the women didn't contribute and just stayed in their safe spaces. No, actually I meant volunteering. Yes some would and some would have no choice and like some women would, they would just hide.

Yes because every man is a fighter. Come on. Even if it did happen, which it wouldn't, you think only women would be raped!

That's one messed up fantasy. "Real rape"! I see you put that at the end so your post would be read. Anyone can be a victim of rape and sexual assault. I can just see every man running forward to fight. Now we both are fantasising. Very predictable in your estimations.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
