Exactly. The burden of proof lies on the one who makes the claims, not the one who doubts the claims.

The article only covers a single anecdote in which a class apparently demonstrated genuinely egalitarian and tolerant values. This unfortunately does not prove that all such classes meet that same quality standard. I'm curious how many are like this vs actively misandrist courses. And I'm not saying it really is one way or another, just that this article didn't prove either case, similar to how one good cop doesn't disprove the issues with police in America. Or to put it in terms an online misan…

How is this even a controversy? "No cameras allowed in bathrooms or locker rooms" is such an incredibly low bar to clear if you're not a psychopath.

I once browsed /r/ImGoinToHellForThis to see if I found it funny or not, and ended up commenting on a post before deciding not to subscribe. The next day, I had notifications telling me I'd been banned from /r/offmychest and /r/AmItheAsshole for my transgression.

I'd also like to point out that there is no such thing as a "valid prejudice". It's an oxymoron. Prejudice is an unfair "preemptive judgement", meaning that you are making judgements before/without having any valid justification for them. Every definition I can find explicitly describes it as inherently unfair, unjust, invalid, etc. All they're really saying here is "it's okay when I do it". Rules for thee but not for me.

And there’s no way to change that. Would "civilian" or "non-combatant" not fully address this?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
