There's no no-fault divorce in Korea

I couldn’t understand this either. Is he saying all women are like this? Some? You should be the “cousin “ and not the first date guy? If you’re the first date guy you should know women have a guy like the cousin waiting for them? Nothing made sense.

For instance, South Korea ruled in 2014 that future pensions and severance pay could be included in the division of assets. That means if a housewife handled all the housework and childcare during their marriage, thus allowing her husband to work, she’s entitled to part of his elderly pension after getting divorced. Japan introduced a similar reform in 2007. What if she just sat on her ass all day and they had extended family take care of the kids? She's denied the pension, right? Right? /s

But I don't believe South Korea would go so far as to force one partner to live in a marriage they don't want to indefinitely; that sounds too inhumane. It seems odd to me too. But inhumane? I'm guessing there's a philosophy that if the spouse didn't do anything wrong and doesn't want to divorce then you don't deserve divorce. Or more specifically, you don't have a right to remarry. Nobody says they have to live with the spouse though. Which itself can suck. I've heard stories where a guy died a…

FWIW, you can't divorce unilaterally in South Korea like you can in the United States. If the other party doesn't want to divorce it's really, really hard. You have to prove they did something wrong like cheated or beat you.

I think "intimidated" is probably the wrong word. Maybe "uncomfortable"? But yes, tall white guys might feel "uncomfortable." Anytime a thing just random forms but is comprised of one group it might make others think it's not for them. Let's say a group of black women (just picking at random) did something together. It might make non-black women think that's just something only for them.
/r/MensRights26/07/26 03:52 AM

Maybe “safe” wasn’t the right word. But maybe “welcome”? If everyone else in the mosh pit are tall white guys that might intimidate others even if they didn’t mean to.

If this is true, why aren’t there more women in office? They’re almost all men.

What was more disturbing to me was the responses and the upvotes. You’ll always have misandrists just like you’ll have misogynists somewhere . What’s important is the reaction against it. It’s a good thing when majority of people oppose misogyny and racism etc. It’s a bad thing when you’re in echo chambers where few people do. Like that subreddit and thread.

At least in America, it's the right (Republicans) opposing female conscription and the left (Democrats) pushing for it. It's been like this for almost 10 years: Republican oppposition: https://roy.house.gov/media/press-releases/reps-roy-miller-lead-group-20-lawmakers-fighting-female-draft https://www.ewtnnews.com/world/us/8-republican-senators-sign-letter-opposing-military-draft-for-women-in-ndaa-proposal Democrat interest: https://thehill.com/policy/defense/4730560-senate-democrats-require-wome…

WTF cares? They play a different competition: women's soccer which generates 7.5% of the revenue that men's soccer does ($527M vs $7500M).

I think the US women's water polo team should also demand equal split of the US men's soccer team revenue. They had just as much to do with the US men's soccer team World Cup outcome as the US women's soccer team did.

Reminds me of a buddy's older brother. Buddy was plump. 5' 9" and 225 lbs. Older bro was also 225 lbs but 6'3", chiseled face and rugged shoulders. Looked like a Greek god. And completely gay. Buddy always marveled how older bro would just women throw themselves at him. And kept saying what a waste it was.

WTF? WHAT?! So many questions. Just a few: First, what woman WANTS to be raped?! Isn't that like telling you I want you to punch my face a bunch of times? Second, even if you find the one weirdo that likes this. In this day and age of hacking and spoofing, isn't that really fucking dangerous?! You hear about "Swatting" all the time, where gamers get pissed off and somehow call police to an unsuspecting gamer. Can't this happen for what youre describing? I've been watching a lot of debates between liberals and conservatives recently and both sides won't miss any opportunity to talk about issues that impact women. Conservatives are eliminating women favoring policies. Aff action toward women etc. They've taken protective action toward women on draft registration though. But not sure how you think conservatives are pandering toward them. it looks like they want to revert back to the 1960s view of women.

Two things can be true at the same time. Might there be discrimination/bias when choosing absolutely top level executive officers that comprise 0.01% of all men and women? Yes. And, could there at the same time be issues affecting education of 100% of boys? Yes.
/r/MensRights13/05/26 03:18 PM
12

Exactly. It creates a fear into even trying to help boys in the first place: The "boy crisis" has been widely reported on, but advocates and experts tell CBC there can still be a hesitancy to be seen propping up boys, given the existing inequalities for women in today’s society.
/r/MensRights12/05/26 06:23 PM
22

"Regardless of how boys and men operate in school systemically, structurally in our societies, they still maintain power," Chemaly said. "So as long as that disconnect between performance and power is relevant, then investments in education become less and less important for boys." Disgusting.

Why are you asking about stuff that happened during the 1970s? During more recent times (2024), Democrats pushed for female draft registration (what we think is fair!) and Republicans rejected it: Senate Democrats have added language to the annual defense authorization bill to require women to register for the draft, prompting a backlash from Republicans and social conservatives and complicating the chances of moving the bill on the Senate floor before Election Day. https://thehill.com/policy/de…

This whole thread is about Democrats anti-men. Implying Republicans are somehow not. It makes no sense otherwise. I'm pointing that's not true. Republicans literally try to stop equality that hurts men at times. IDKY you're choosing this hill. Why are you so adamant to support the only party forcing only men to register?
/r/MensRights11/05/26 04:21 PM
0

I'm saying men need to get over "feminism" alone as its sole enemy. "Trad" movement (for lack of a better word) is just as much of any enemy at times -- as with the issue of male only draft registration versus all gender draft registration. Democrats literally raised all gender draft registration, Republicans rejected it, and you're fumbling about how "serious" Democrats were, compared with the actual fact that Republicans ACTUALLY REJECTED IT!!1
/r/MensRights11/05/26 03:53 PM
2

Who GAF? If the Rs wanted to call their bluff, they could've. They could've supported the draft, and forced the Democrats to eat their words. They didn't. They took the opposite approach to talk about how they need to "protect women" and bullshit like that. That's the party you're trying to implicitly protect so much.
/r/MensRights11/05/26 08:46 AM
12

Not only that. Democrats want women registered for the draft as well. Republicans are stopping that. I’m not saying Democrats are pro men either. Clearly they’re not. But Republicans aren’t pro men.
/r/MensRights11/05/26 05:25 AM

Politicians promise shit all the time that they have no intention on delivering on. Ping me when it's implemented. Then why are Senate Republicans blocking it??? Why not let it go to the Senate floor and force Democrats to have to walk it back??? Unbelieveable. Republicans force men to eat shit. And here we are asking for seconds.

For example, if I say, if men are drafted in a country, then so should women, a feminist would retort with calling me an incel. IDT feminists oppose this. You're barking up the wrong tree. I've linked this before. The left doesn't oppose this. Senate Democrats propose female draft registration It's the traditional Republicans that OPPOSE female draft registration When this issue came up before in a 62 member subcommittee - 26 Democrats voted in favor. Only 6 Republicans did. https://www.pbs.org/…

In a foreword to the CSJ report, published on Saturday, John Roberts, the chief executive of retailer AO and a prominent philanthropist, said it was time for men to “step up”. “This report is a clarion call for more men to get involved to provide the role models thousands of lost boys and young men are desperately crying out for,” he said. Once again, when there's a problem about men, they collectively have to "step up" to get more involved, as if they did something wrong. When it's a women issu…

IMHO, neither party benefits that much over gender issues. Well, the left might push feminism. But they're exactly getting much mileage out of that either. Look at the last election. Kamala won women voters 53/45. Trump won men voters 55/43. That's still 45% women for Trump. 43% men for Kamala. And I bet if you looked at individual states you'll find a lot of men in blue states voting Kamala. And women in red states voting Trump.

Right, what do you think happens historically / contextually that has influenced this shift. Why do you think the rate and wider social perceptions differ depending on race, sexuality, age gaps? What aspects of those relationships is different. What are you exactly talking about? There's the blatantly racist attitude of "white people shouldn't mix with other races". Is a black man wanting to date white women the same contextually, implication wise, conceptually, historically, morally? Yes, absolutely! A black man/white woman relationship could mean, he doesn't value the woman for the individual he's dating, but more her race. Like he doesn't value the person for herself, but the elevated status he thinks she brings by dating him that he internalizes through his own racism against his own race. The shift towards accepting interracial couples and same-sex couples is different. They had unique implications, rationales, context, cultural influence and so on. Is it? Yeah by why, what do they like about each other It seems violative to ask this. Do you ask why white women like black men? Why white men like Asian women? Of course not. It's a fucking rude question. So why here? Because society lately has a growing attitude of infantilizing younger women and demonizing older men in the context of them dating. For most women in most situations no means "not right now but I could change my mind" but it matters massively the context of everything else you're seeing from her. If a woman ever says something like "you can come over but just so you know we're not having sex" that is about as clear of a sign that you're likely gunna fuck that a girl will ever say. Why? If you live with a woman long enough the state calls it a “common law marriage“. Whether you have a ceremony or not doesn’t matter. In fact, if you can get a prenup it’s better to get married w a prenup then a common law marriage without. So the real question is whether you want a long term relationship with a woman or not. IDT Reddit can give you the answer for that. You also have to address whether you want kids and if so through a strong committed relationship or not.

In the Trevor Bauer case he found such evidence against the accuser. If that accuser were to claim rape against a second guy later, that other guy could introduce evidence from the Bauer case.

Doesn't this mean the headline is WRONG? Literally, the "liar" trope is admissible? Under new laws, “bad character” evidence related to a victim’s past sexual history or abuse will no longer be allowed, unless lawyers have evidence to suggest a complainant has previously lied.

This is gonna be an unpopular opinion here, but the MRM doesn't feminists as its opposition on many issues, it's conservatism. Take circumcision. Feminists DGAF about this. It's religious conservatives eating Kellogg's corn flakes soaked in his dogma that insist upon it. Or draft registration. Feminists wouldn't object if the draft were eliminated or AFAIK if it included women, but conservatives do.. Or paternity leave for fathers.

Is that what mansplaining is? I thought it was men disagreeing on topics that women ordinarily would be more familiar with? Like a man telling a woman her way of handling menstrual pain is wrong and his solution is better.

There's no difference. 17 year old boys and girls typically fantasize about older women and men. But society has to draw a line somewhere when it comes to inappropriate sex and we choose to draw it at 18. Still, society considers it exploitation when it's a 17 year old girl while the 17 year old boy in the same predicament isn't exploited. That's just sexist and wrong.

I hate this narrative: 'With her lies, Veronika Rodriguez hurt more than just the victim,' Graf said, Fox reported. 'She undermined every true victim of sexual assault who wants to come forward. She should apologize not only to Fahad Pervez, but to the real victims suffering from sexual trauma.' It implies that it's not enough a human being's life was ruined. It's only when OTHER WOMEN are hurt, are the actions really bad.

Sure it is. Privacy isn't only someone being able to see your genitals in a stall. It's being able to deal with periods. It's adjusting bras. Or whatever. It's also customary. But you've still never addressed the other side. Why do transgender people feel the need to walk into a "gender identity" bathroom? What's wrong with just using a bathroom with people that have the same genitalia as you?
/r/MensRights20/08/25 02:13 AM
3

It’s not a fear. It’s a privacy expectation. It’s why we have stalls in bathrooms. Along those lines, We just don’t want to urinate/excrete with people of opposite genders near us. Now you answer the question: why is it a big deal for transgender people to use bathrooms with people having the same sexual organs as they do?
/r/MensRights19/08/25 11:10 PM

Again, from that perspective, it's just proxmity to transsexuals too. They're literally freaking out over peeing in a men's bathroom instead of a women's bathroom. That's just ... proximity. I wish public bathrooms just had a pictures of sexual organs: Penis and Vagina. That's what decides which bathroom you use. So again, 0.6% of people impose their wishes over the masses because they're "uncomfortable" using the wrong bathroom. I'm shocked how that became a thing. As in ... why the fuck do peo…

It fascinates me as to what exactly BECOMES an issue. Look at transgender. It's an issue affecting less than 0.6% of Americans. Yet, it's become a huge issue enough to impose to women that they have to let men (that claim to be women) into their bathrooms. This isn't like ADA where disabled people have NO bathrooms to go to. This is simply because transgender people are more "comfortable" in women's bathroom versus men. Honestly, the issue itself isn't that important to me. I couldn't care less …

A false accusation is where NO rape happened. It's where a woman decides she'll ruin a man's life through the accusation. A wrongful accusation is where the victim picked the wrong person out of a lineup. It's where the police are so pushy to solve the case, they guide her into selecting the person they've built their case toward. It's what Netflix's Making a Murderer was partially about

The victim, a 33-year-old woman, was attacked in the early hours of 19 July 2003 while walking home in Little Hulton. She was dragged down a motorway embankment and strangled until unconscious. In the attack she sustained significant injuries to her neck, back, legs, arms, chest and face, including a fractured cheekbone.[4] After losing consciousness she was raped.[5] This is a wrongful accusation case but not a false accusation. This woman was brutally attacked and raped.

It goes further than that. Men are starting to recognize that there's misandry happening, which is why Trump got more of their votes than Kamala. But then that voting shift itself gets characterized as sexism. Which will just mean even MORE men will likely vote R in the next election.

If men believe that the playing field is tilting against them, women hardly agree they are better off. Gallup surveys show that women have become much more pessimistic about the state of gender equality and the treatment of women in society. In 2016, 61 percent of women reported being satisfied with the way women were treated in the US, but sentiment deteriorated rapidly over the next couple of years. Today, only 44 percent of women feel satisfied with the way women are treated in American socie…

It's far worse than that. A woman can give birth to her child and either: (1) keep it, in which case she and the father are obligated for 18 years of child support; or (2) give it up for adoption, in which case she and the father are NOT obligated for 18 years of child support. But the choice is HERS. The father essentially can't block adoptions. And a father can't force a woman to give up her baby for adoption obviously: So, can a biological father stop an adoption in California? Even if your b…

Because they want to blame the "patriarchy" boogeyman. Abortion is an incredibly simple issue. Evangelical Christians, both men and women, are pro-life. The comparison was to the issue of consent. No baby consents to vaccination but we’re fine with it. And parents sign waivers that if the vaccination harms the baby the vaccine company isn’t responsible. When you become a parent you discover this and internally ask, “Wait. If vaccines are safe WTF do you need me to sign a waiver??? I don’t sign a waiver before getting on a plane.” So not only are you consenting for the baby but you give up its rights if something goes wrong.

IDK the accuracy of the science of WHO or CDC about circumsicion and AIDS. But assuming it’s accurate, why isn’t it a good reason? Especially since limiting the spread of AIDS has societal benefits. And it’s not no consent. The parents obviously consent because it’s a minor. Which happens all the time. Otherwise you’d never have baby vaccinations.

It's literally the reason that circumcision has increased in southern Africa: Studies suggest that about 62% of African males are circumcised.[23] However, the rate varies widely between different regions, and among ethnic and religious groups, with Muslim North Africans practising it for religious reasons, central Africans as part of ethnic rituals or local custom, and some traditionally non-circumcising populations in the South recently adopting the practice due to measures by the World Health…

Uncircumcised already means normal. No, it literally doesn't. "Un-" before anything implies "not" something. You're describing people as "not" a condition. You might think shaming is a good tactic to sway people to your side, It's not to shame. It's to reframe the language as to what should be the norm. And, of course, leaving the human body intact should be the norm unless there's a health-related reason. When was the last time anyone referred to women as "uncircumsized women"? Of course not.

Drunk man has sex with drunk woman -> He raped her This is exactly the Brock Turner case! The big difference is that she was so drunk that she passed out altogether. So much so, that if Brock were a female having sex with a sober man, Brock legally couldn't consent to having sex. Which makes no sense, if you then say, Brock could "consent" to committing a rape. We should have double standards unless it damages equal-opportunity, equal dignity or equal rights. I can go a step further. Those double standards can often affect equal opportunity. On the issue of boys scouts versus girls scouts. The irony is that the girls scouts are upset that boys scouts is genderless too. Because it means less girls in girls scouts. IMHO the issue is that girls want to get into boys organizations but not the other way around. And that’s the nature of girls and boys in western societies and cultures. It’s getting acceptable for girls to do boys stuff. But not the other way around. Girls can wear pants. Boys can’t wear dresses.

Why are you bringing up paramount and a film that has nothing to do with sports. To prove that financial "losses" are meaningless. W/E. Warriors paid $50 million. This is much more than $10-14 million paid for NY Liberty in 2019 So why pay $50M if they could just pay $10M? Plus it's not the highest valuation. Minority investors bought a stake in the Seattle Storm at a valuation of $150 million.

Again, "losing money" is bullshit. It's "losing money" just like the movie Forrest Gump "lost" money. The WNBA is worth over a billion dollars: In the pro women’s league, the Chicago Sky was valued at $85 million last spring. And two years ago, the league as a whole was valued at more than $1 billion, as WNBA Commissioner (and former Deloitte CEO) Cathy Engelbert drives a plan to turn the organization into a financial powerhouse.

Of course. If they self-selected it's fine. And if they're from abroad there's more leeway. For that matter, the NAACP never changed their name which stands for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. But for a 2020's TV show which relates to an 80s (Young Sheldon is really an 80s time, not 90s) era setting, they have to maintain what's acceptable for this timeframe, not the 80s. They can't make jokes like, "Wanna know I know you're gay..."

But age gap relationships in the 90s shouldn't matter in today's standards of decency. Homophobic jokes and sexual harassment were also more tolerated in the 90s than today. There was less sensitivity toward labels toward ethnic groups. Asians were still called "orientals". It's a little of both. Women date each other and older men: Some of them are dating each other. One-fifth of Generation Z identifies as queer, and research suggests bisexual women make up a large share of the young-adult queer community. Lots of women criticized this behavior: Like Haworth, many female opinion leaders condoned men’s emotional disintegration under the duress of a “Dear John.” Eager to shore up vulnerable male egos, they joined the chorus condemning women who severed intimate ties with servicemen as traitors—worse than Axis enemies, even, because American women were (or ought to be) on the same side.

I watched a Netflix documentary called “explained” and one episode was on gender pay gap. IT’s conclusion was that there was no gap … for childless women. However there was a huge gap for mothers. So it looked into this and determined the problem was lack of … equivalent paternity leave. In fact I’m countries with similar leave for dads there was no gap. So the solution is more paid leave for … men

the follow up foot stamping is "how come fathers don't have to give up their careers?" and the obvious answer there is "they chose to make their careers the priority". Ironically, the solution to this is more PATERNITY LEAVE. In industrialized countries where both parents take a paternity/maternity leave, then there's less of a gender pay gap. Because if men are responsible for childcare and there's no penalty for it, then surprise, surprise, there's no longer a gender pay gap.

I'm sure if the roles were reversed, he'd be called an asshole for doing this. Most people may forget but Nick Lachey was wealthier than Jessica Simpson when they got married. He asked for a prenup. She refused. They got married anyway. Fast forward during their divorce. She was wealthier. So she coughed up more of her net gains than he did. She was suddenly angry they never signed a prenup.

Japan has a real cultural problem with groping on subways almost all to women and teen girls. A woman's only subways helps alleviate the issue. Most times it’s not ok because it involves coercion or grooming. Enough so that you need to make it a blanket rule. Just like boss/employee relationships involve coercion too often so it’s illegal. My only point is that it’s not always that way. If a 16 yo can consent to sex with a 14 yo then she or he can consent with a 20-something person too. It’s the added element of likely coercion where the law creates the notion that such consent ability doesn’t exist.

No worries. Fair enough. Not everyone want marriage. But plenty do. And the majority of times marriage works out. But then there's times it doesn't and men get screwed. Usually rich guys that pay obscene amount of alimony & child support. But there's times marriage doesn't work and women get screwed too. Let's face it, there's a reason there's a million+ single moms out there. No matter the risks, lots of people want to find love and find close companionship. Besides, what is marriage for a man?…

Did you see this quote from the article below? It's intrinsic to violate Title IX as part of the "Women's Studies" program. Men should expect this. What a goddamn farce. But here’s a question, admittedly non-politically correct: Aren’t women’s studies at the college level inherently biased anyway? They’re women’s studies — aimed at women, about women, specifically tailored to take historical looks at women. It only stands to reason that men taking up this course of study might be the proverbial …

The problem with feminism, like many -isms, is lumping people into the same category. It's not as if straight white males are a monolith. There's poor vs rich whites, educated/uneducated whites, rural/urban whites, etc., etc. It's the same with women. Not all women are the same. Only 55% of women are pro-choice. For a pure women's issue, you'd think it'd be higher. But nearly half are against it. And how do feminists explain this? It's because women themselves have internalized misogyny. Uh, ok.

Sorry to burst your bubble, friend. Women are inherently golddiggers. They're just wired differently. Women literally find rich men more sexually attractive. It's not being a leech. It's literally what turns them on: One of the most robust findings in evolutionary psychology is the observation that men and women differ in the characteristics they prefer in potential mates. An unattractive woman can have hundreds of men dying to take her out every day if she has a dating app profile. Don't know what you're talking about... Some of the conclusions aren’t surprising. Because men value looks not money. It's how we're wired. When we see another man getting married, we first evaluate how pretty the bride is. The prettier she is, the better we think he did. That's what the article implies they should do. Who knows why they took it to Federal Court in the 1st place: Furthermore, Hornak dismissed each of the remaining claims and counterclaims in the case without prejudice for lack of subject-matter jurisdiction, as all of those same counts in question were purely state law claims and not ripe for disposition in a federal court.

Yes, you're right. But I think this highlights that it's NOT ok if a men-only ANYTHING were set up. Which is wrong. Just like it's appropriate to have women-only things, such as sex abuse issues, there's men-only appropriate things as well.

My feeling is that proportionally, the difference in prize that men and women get is bigger than the actual difference in their popularity and viewership. There's zero basis for this. Plus, even if you're right, the solution is not to force to the Men's team to give up their portion. It's to demand a greater portion from FIFA. If you think you deserve a raise, do you pressure your co-worker into give you some of his pay? Of course not. the point was that it was deemed unfair that men had to shar…

The point is women teams (wether US or another country) get a way smaller prize for winning the cup, although they are both FIFA World Cups. IDK why this is a problem. But why is it important to force it to be just as popular now?

FIFA controls Men's and Women's World Cup. They drive the revenue to the national teams. As the original story says, FIFA gives far more revenue for men's results than women's. US Soccer doesn't control that. All your other points are irrelevant after that. Because US Soccer can't change FIFA and how it distributes $$. It'd need the cooperation of all other countries, because the pay is agreed to globally. Perhaps US Soccer should tell FIFA, "Pay us the same for men and women. If that means the …

Your data is wrong. The 2018 mens WC final was watched by 1.12 billion viewers Let's bring this back to the original point that the men earn more than the women. FIFA pays the US national team far more for men's results than women's. They literally paid them MORE for reaching knockout stage in one WC in mens, than winning 2 WCs in womens. And that's not just the US national soccer team. That's what they pay every national team. And they do this because that's the revenue they get. It's a formula…

Neither did you. Do you have proof that more advertising is spent on the men's World Cup than women's? On a global basis? And by how much? Plus, advertising only goes so far. You could advertise darts and chess far more than soccer and it'll never be as popular. Men's World Cup became far more popular before advertising was ubiquitous. Finally, there's less global participation with women's soccer. There's only 24 teams in the womens' World Cup. There's 32 in mens and it'll be expanded to 48 in …

And it doesn't have to be gender related. Triathlaton, decathlon, biathalon and gymnastics competitors have to engage in far more rigorous training and display physical ability far greater than soccer, football or baseball players. I think the argument of the women's team been less good and been destroyed by the men's team is fallacious. Almost all spectator sports generate more revenue from the men than women. There might be a few exceptions (honestly IDK of any but just in case), but otherwise it's the male contests that bring most of the revenue. That's not a judgment about women. Yes. But the women make a lot less because men's soccer is so much more popular. A women's title makes less money than the men advancing to knockout rounds. However, the women's team and men's team now get paid the same. Theoretically, if the men never made it to the World Cup at all while the women did, then it'd be the women who'd subsidize the men.

While pointing out unfairness to boys/men is important to me, this sounds like it's turning into an echo chamber when we're ONLY focused on misandry and ignoring everything else. While I'm not saying these anecdotes are false, there's plenty of unfairness against girls as well. women are oppressed by patriarchy, which is a system that privileges men on the basis of gender. this manifests in a lot of different ways (ie sexual violence, wage and labor gaps, beauty standards) I think the notion that this is "patriarchy" (as opposed to "matriarchy") is misplaced. wait until the women's team earns the bigger purse and have to hand it over equally to the men, boy then you can just imagine the squealing. That won't happen for a long while. The US would've received $8M from FIFA even if it didn't advance to the round of 16. I think teams just making it to the Men's WC get $10M this year. Let's say the Women's WC winner makes $5M. If they don't win it'll be far less. So the women are guaranteed a $5M subsidy, at least. And a bigger subsidy if the Men's team does better or the Women's team does worse. It's a unique situation. The US men don't win as much as US women. But IIRC, the pay is small from national teams relative to men's salaries with clubs. By who? Is there a judge of judges somewhere we don't know about? And if the "legal definition" allows him to be unfair, how would you "deal" with that judge? He did what the law allowed him to do! I love your solution to terrible legal definitions: let the judge determine what's fair. Ask alimony paying fathers on r/mensrights how well that worked out.

So if you have a man-hating judge that rules ONLY the underage boy "raped" the underage girl, you're fine with that. Because that's how usually turns out. That's how we "make judgements in court."

In what world does 2 people "raping" each other at the same time make sense???
/r/MensRights08/04/22 03:14 PM

Actually you're wrong. I would flip it. Yes, there's too much room for abuse so that's why the law is absolute. And as I said from the start, it should be that way because there's too much potential for abuse and manipulation. But if you're asking me can there be a consensual encounter between a 15 year old girl and a 21 year old boy just as much as with a 15 year old boy? Absolutely.
/r/MensRights08/04/22 03:12 PM

Your definition leads to absurdity: What happens when two 15 year olds have sex consensually? Are they "raping" each other? EDIT: In California, yes, they are both "raping" each other: In California, it is still illegal for minors to have sexual relationships with one another – an 18-year-old in high school can still get arrested and charged for the rape of a child if they have sex with their 17-year-old significant other. If both of them are below the minimum age, they can both be charged with …

Let's be honest though. She's pretty and 21. Is it really that difficult to think a 15 y.o. boy enjoyed this sexual encounter and did it out of his own free will without any compulsion or coercion? I understand that the law needs to be what it is. Generally, older people can manipulate, coerce or pressure vulnerable & naive teens into sex. So you just need to make a law that has an arbitrary legal cut-off to discourage that. Sex with someone under 18 is illegal no matter what. But that doesn't a…

Fathers can stop the adoption proces When going through the adoption process, a biological father has a constitutional right to be notified of paternity for a child who is being put up for adoption. It's imperfect when it comes to reproduction because there's a third party -- the child -- which doesn't have rights, then later does have rights. And this works against women sometimes too. Abortion is effective illegal in Texas now, even for rape. Rape victims who become pregnant, sometimes have to give visitation rights to their rapist as the father of the child.

There's non-sexist reasons for this: Experts suggest that there are several reasons that women are far more likely to receive alimony than their male counterparts. In some cases, it could simply be male pride that keeps men from requesting the payments. For example, Forbes magazine profiled a 53-year-old man who said he would never ask for money from his former spouse, even though he ate canned soup and potato chips for dinner for years following the end of his marriage.

However, the main reason we see the photos in the media of Ukrainian women taking up arms is because such individuals are so rare and unusual. First, it's fair for children to leave. They're too young to fight. You want them to be safe. And, children need a caretaker. Obviously, better if there's 2 of them. But far worse if they become orphans. So I understand if mothers need to leave. But after that, then it's absolutely sexist. This is the benefit of the toxic mentality that women are frail and need protection, men are strong and must sacrifice for others.

I've tried looking. I don't think anyone found overwhelming evidence. There's a leaked audio recording where Amber admits to slapping Depp but tries to downplay it. Depp says violence is bad but isn't specific whether it's just her doing it or both of him. Each side is trying to blame the other. As a guy, I hope to find that Depp is being railroaded by a conniving, manipulative bitch. That he's not a scumbag that beat up Heard and now is trying to blame her. But who knows where the truth is. Or …

I quoted wiki. It said the judge determined that the 12 of 14 claims of domestic violence by Depp were substantially true. That led to the judge saying The Sun wasn't liable. But in court, the judge said Depp abused Heard. I've heard the recording. But that doesn't mean Depp did NOT hit Heard. Just that Heard hit Depp too.
/r/MensRights26/01/22 07:35 PM

There's 12 separate instances that the UK judge determined he hit her. 12! Maybe she hit him too. But that wouldn't change the fact he hit her. 12 times apparently.

Any proof? All I read is that the court was white knighting because Depp call Heard a golddigger. Weird claim of bias.
/r/MensRights26/01/22 06:50 AM

That's what you're focused on??? The claims helped or hurt her career??? An impartial court determined he beat her repeatedly. But nobody here seems to care about that little detail and portrays Depp as the victim.

In 2018,[237] Depp brought a libel lawsuit in the UK against News Group Newspapers (NGN), publishers of The Sun, which had called him a "wife beater" in an April 2018 article.[238][239] The case had a highly publicized trial in July 2020, with both Depp and Heard testifying for several days.[240] In November 2020, the High Court of Justice ruled that 12 of the 14 incidents of violence claimed by Heard were "substantially true".[238][239] The court rejected Depp's claim of a hoax[241] and accepte…

When the law decides to recognize that males can be victims and females can be predators, there will be true equality between the sexes and fulfillment of the constitutional ideals upheld by the Supreme Court. SF vs. TM (1996). S.F. was a man who passed out intoxicated at a party in the home of a woman (T.M.), who had sex with him while he was unconscious. S.F. had no knowledge of this until he woke up the following morning with his lower clothes removed. T.M. became pregnant as a result of the encounter and S.F. was ordered to pay child support. YES! Who gives a flying fuck whether a Congressman is a D or R. If they vote for something bad, it's their fucking fault. If they vote against something good, it's their fucking fault. Who cares what they call themselves? For instance, Manchin and Sinema break from party lines on many issues. That's why there's no infrastructure bill. The independents are exactly that: independent. They have no allegiance to vote Democrat. That's why it's silly to blame "Democrats" because 1 breaks ranks and ignore "Republicans" for holding firm. The democrats could have passed it all by themselves, and they did not. You can't blame the republicans for what the democrats could have done but did not. Are you serious? 50 Republicans + 1 Democrat don't pass a bill, while 49 Democrats pass it, and somehow you think it's the Democrats' fault?? It's like you somehow refuse to believe that Republican men don't want women in the military. Or that most Democrats wanted it.
/r/MensRights07/01/22 11:55 PM

It's in the article. It says Ted Cruz and other Republican men killed it. They're taking credit for it. A female Democrat proposed it. Other Democrats supported it. You don't hear any Democrats excited about killing it.. Only Republican men.
/r/MensRights07/01/22 11:28 PM
1

IDK. but it could be the same reason the infrastructure bill hasn't passed. One defection is all it takes. All that means is 1 Democrat out of 51 disagrees. Again, IDK. but the article said including women in the draft had "overwhelming support" whatever that means.
/r/MensRights07/01/22 11:11 PM

It's in the article. Giving the ethnic background of criminals is considered unethical over there. I disagree. But that's what Swedes think. Either way, to then disclose it, is illegal. The researchers knew that what they were doing was a violation all along. It's not as if anyone didn't like the findings and then tried to suppress. If the researchers found that Swedes commit 99% of all crime, they'd still be violating the law.

I agree that men are treated unfairly but it's in completely different respects. We don't endure 7+ months of completely radical body change to accommodate a baby growing inside us. Forced parenthood is unfair but forced pregnancy is something completely different. Which goes back to my point that male privilege isn't a monolith. It's a strange position for OP to say examples could disprove male privilege exists altogether as if privilege is a binary determination.

250 years ago several US states made laws to protect women's property rights, stipulating that a judge needed to verify a woman's approval in cases where her husband wanted to sell. Things are a lot more nuanced than the feminist propaganda wants us to believe. Dude, really? Questioning whether male privilege was a thing 200+ years ago is a strange hill to die over.

That's not obvious at all. Even if we go 50, 100, 200 or 5000 years back. Really? I get that it's a closer call now. But 100 years? 100 years ago, married women couldn't be raped by their husbands. A stronger human being could forcibly fuck you against your will and you couldn't do a damn thing. And they could be beaten to a pulp without recourse. 200 years ago, women couldn't own property. Couldn't work in many occupations. The fact that those are ignored, even if known, speaks to male privileg…

I'm not a big feminist obviously. I'm sure they might be able to point out more. But just off the top of my head: Tech companies are male dominated. Women can participate but there's a male culture that they'll have to fight against. Look at what happens at companies like Blizzard, etc. Abortion rights are being destroyed in southern states. Losing right to abortion disproportionately affects women.

I'm not sure what's the point here. Is male privilege exaggerated? Yes. Does that mean there's absolutely no male privilege? Of course not. There's female privilege too. But in general there's more male privilege than female privilege. I thought the point of this forum was to describe instances of unfairness toward men being ignored by society such as forced child support or domestic abuse against men.

number 2 can't be right. California for instance varies child support based on earnings. That's why billionaire Kirk Kerkorian had to pay millions in child support (btw, for a kid that he was duped into thinking was his). Apparently, that wasn't enough for his ex-wife: Lisa was suing Kerkorian in LA to increase her $100,000-a-month child support payments for Kira, 16, to $500,000. “The judge gave her absolutely nothing” that she requested in her lawsuit, Campagna told me.

I never disputed your stats about black violence. But that has nothing to do with police brutality. And every stat about police brutality comes from ... law enforcement. Again, ever notice that police brutality has never been an issue until video technology came around? Do you really think Rodney King was an isolated incident almost 30 years ago? Do you wonder WHY there were riots when the officers were first found not guilty? According to the "stats" back then there was no issue.
/r/MensRights11/02/20 02:32 AM

Watch "Making a Murderer." The main story is whether Steven Avery committed murder or was framed again. But what's unmistakable is that: (1) a woman was raped by a stranger (2) the woman was pushed by police into saying Avery did it (3) Avery was innocent. It turned out there was another rapist in the area who did it. (4) the woman didn't know Avery at all. She had no agenda to frame him.

Seriously? At 22? I guess it's been awhile since I've been in the dating scene.

You might have that "one" buddy. I get that. I just meant people in general. They might take you to the hospital or help you with a few bucks. But very few will take an active role in your life.

Can someone explain what happened? Why make yourself sound depressed and that life is crappy? Only your truly close friends are willing to take an emotional investment to lift you out of something like that. If a old acquaintance contacted you and you reacted that way, wouldn't they respond the same? I guess why does everyone think this reaction is unique to crazy, manipulative ex's?

Why'd she claim it was rape? Did she want a relationship but you were happy with a one-night stand? Did she regret it the next day and so she thought it was rape?

I get the women, but why not children first? They need more assistance as well in evacuation and they haven't lived as long.

Why'd you cover up who wrote this? If it's a tweet, isn't it public?

What was wrong with plus-sized? Isn't "plus" a good thing? Fabulously sized sounds like they're clothes for LBGTQ folks.

Is this even true? Aren't there plenty of subreddits to deal with men's issues like r/mensrights, etc.? Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I don't see complaints that the existence of that subreddit itself is sexist.

If we have to stretch this far to find a story to fit this sub, I'm rethinking whether feminism is such a big deal.

From another article on the same topic: And a lot of women don’t like it—somehow it feels backwards. But even though it might give us a knee-jerk reaction, is it really wrong? “I feel so conflicted,” Andrea, a woman who was faced with making alimony payments during divorce mediation, told Elle. “On the one hand, I want to be like, ‘Sorry, it’s not my job anymore to support your lifestyle.’ On the other hand, if a man was speaking of his wife that way, we’d be like, ‘What an asshole.’” https://ww…

That's simple. "Feminism" represents the idea that many things are unfair for women and should change to be fair. Which seems reasonable. It's not to say things unfair for men should NOT change. It's just not what they advocate. For that matter, things are unfair for old people, handicapped people, minority people. It's just not what they advocate.

Exactly. Feminism really means equal rights. Which means a lot of "feminists" aren't really feminist. They're ... (wait for it) ... sexist.

Why does inheritance matter? There's plenty of men that have received billions through inheritance. The only reason these are women on the list through inheritance instead of men are just their gender as born into the family. They would've received it if they were men anyway.

The only possibly reasonable explanation for these tweets is that they think this is a gag story because they believe a man couldn't get erect under duress and so this just isn't real. Otherwise, I just don't get it. Unless they're psycho women. I mean, I don't think normal women think like this.

We don't know the context. Maybe she's calling it "consensual" but there's obvious details making it "nonconsensual" such as her partner threatened her or some other detail.

Still he was charged with malicious use of telecommunications services and released on bond. Then he made more posts, such as one that reads, “Dada back to digging and you best believe I’m gonna dig up all the skeletons in this court’s closet.” A judge ruled he violated his bond conditions. He now is in jail on half a million dollars bond. Who knows what the bond conditions were. But if they included a blanket rule about no more social media comments about the Judge, then he's an idiot. He could…

I'll admit the media exaggerates. But I read Trump's tweets. The media doesn't edit or filter that. Plus, just look at his past actions and words. Trump's racist. Everyone knows it. Bill Burr even joked about it before getting the '16 election. Here's the most blatant example of Trump's racism. He was in an unrelated legal dispute during the 2016 campaign which happened to be held in front a federal judge born of Mexican national origin. Trump said the Mexican federal judge couldn't be fair beca…

The debate is to what extent, and whether humans have as much of an effect as advertised. It's not so clear cut, so this is a bad example to use Debate? What debate? Other than crazies paid by the oil companies, there's no debate. But he's not racist. In the sense that no one even Hitler is racist because he had a Jewish doctor, yeah Trump isn't racist. In every other common sense of the term, of course Trump is racist. Pedophilia is wrong. According to what criteria? You're a waste of DNA at th…

No, there shouldn't always be different viewpoints. Sometimes there's only one side. Climate change is happening. Trump is racist. Pedophilia is wrong. And feminists would care about this. They say that women objectify other women .. and blame men in the process.

Huh? What's wrong with everyone agreeing with this being disgusting? Does every thread need two sides? If the gender were reversed, you'd only have one side. No sane person would say this is ok.

You're confusing issues. The right to express yourself is a right against the government. The government can't shut down Amazon. And I would defend Amazon's right if the government ever tried to do that. But public outrage is another matter altogether. There's nothing wrong with ordinary people from pressuring Amazon to stop selling these T-shirts. They should do that as a matter of fact. EDIT: There actually was a protest and stores were pressured to stop selling them. Which is a good thing.
