When they start bringing him around like he is supposed to replace you… this was worse for me than anything. The sting has dulled after a few months but only because I have started to just accept that I will be cut out of their lives no matter what.

This is no doubt a tough time. Keep a clear head by avoiding alcohol, staying active, staying active with your kids, think about the future. I promise it will pass and not feel so bad. I’m a year past what you are experiencing. It feels hopeless and it hurts. Let some tears fall if you need to. Just keep building yourself little by little

Went through this too. Crazy but it will be ok. Stay away from alcohol. Waking up hung over will make it worse

I leveled up huge and it didn’t matter in the end. Even stepped up chores/kid stuff huge the last 2.5 years of our relationship. She was just dangling a carrot. Truth is she had a guy lined up who made more money and beat me in other attraction metrics. So no matter what I did, I was fucked

When you get knocked on your ass, you have to get up and keep fighting. Divorce knocks you on your ass. They see your confusion and need for reassurance as you “not getting back up”

Happy for you brother. Very similar how mine ended besides her getting caught cheating. She said the same thing to me. I hope I can write my success the same way you did.

Went no contact when I could tell another guy was creeping around. She refuses to honor it and expects me to just be her friend. Never.

I can’t even get a date. Yes, I’m fit. Yes, I’m not short. Yes, I have a cool job. Yes, I have normal interests.

Met in highschool starter dating at 21. She was a wild woman with many red flags but I was a young and wild guy myself. Put up with cheating stupidly. Over came it and we had a good 2 year run of a relationship and got married. Marriage was ok until she got her nurse practitioner license. We stopped having as much sex. Stupidly I asked if she wanted to try kinky stuff and we did. Invited a guy to join, she fell in love and we tried to navigate that during Covid. Somehow pulled through but then t…

Dead bedroom for 2.5 years. Looking back I would have stayed forever if I knew how painful life and reality have become for me.

That’s tough brother. The silver lining is she will eventually hate her new guy once the baby gets into school.

Up and down. Ex moved on with a guy we both knew. She gaslit me for years saying she didn’t like him. I’m sure they were together before we separated. On Monday she told me she is introducing him to my kids. Otherwise I’m alright. Debating on how to address this with my kids. Staying in the gym, working hard, avoiding the urge to drink.

One thing I’m proud of looking back is I never begged, drunk dialed, said “I miss you”

I can’t even get a date. Fit and not hideous. I refuse to date old fatties which is almost all I match with.

Good advice but easier said than done for some. When you give your heart and soul to someone you may never get it back.

Just rounding the corner on year 1. I have made great strides this year and I am working everyday to ensure it continues. Thank you for the insight.

Ex has 100% custody. She smoked me out of the marriage by cutting off sex and intimacy. Not that I am innocent in causing some of our problems, but she refused to address or communicate for around 2 years. I had to leave. I couldn’t stand it. I basically gave her 100% and the house and kept my retirement and low child support. We did a dissolution that was “amicable”. My kids still want to see me, for now at least. They are younger than yours. But the strain of my ex starting to date someone we …
