Not telling this dude about the GF's friend cheating, does not automatically go to "cheating is OK." To continue the hamstering though experiment, if OP tells his girlfriend's friend's boyfriend about the cheating, OP will show that he can't be trusted, so she'll be less likely to tell him things in the future that could indicate, well, whatever. OP will also show that it's OK to lie by going back on his word. And that wheel starts squeaking away, take that to its natural conclusion. A question …

There's an axiom that it's damn hard to overeat if you're only eating "clean", i.e. non processed or junk foods. The problem with junk food is that they are very energy-dense, so you put own more calories to feel full. You don't need to do a lot of complex cooking to accomplish it. Wash vegetables and just eat them. If you don't like the flavor raw, 5-10 minutes on medium in a pan with butter or olive oil and everything's better. Proteins can go in a pan as well, or in a glass oven dish in the o…

As a counterpoint to the military comments: If you don't want school, the school benefits are useless to you. You're going to loath the DI experience in training and resent any superior with orders you think are dumb -- some people have a tolerance for that, but if you don't, that will be rather torturous. The combat bit is a big one. Your intuition is right. It's stupid for someone to join thinking "I'm just doing this for the benefits, I'll never have to fight." You're going to be a soldier/sa…

I'll reiterate, but like TRP-Talk recommended, being loud comes from the diaphragm -- the muscle wall which lies below your lungs and does the deflating/inflating for your. If you've ever been hit in the solar plexus and had the wind knocked out of you, what you experienced is your diaphragm being stunned. There's a lot of ways to describe what diaphragm breathing/speaking feels like, but I've found the best way to feel it is to lie on your back, on a hard floor, and exhale as hard as you can. T…

TRP-Talk is on the money. Your singing voice is improved by being able to hear yourself, and being able to manipulate the sound you produce. Some people are lucky that the two tasks come naturally to them, some really have to work at it, and, as much as I tried to tell some friends otherwise, some people just don't have the combination of recognition and muscle coordination to make changes. If your singing voice is a crux, find a vocal coach and buy a few sessions. In a few hours, a coach worth …

"Speak softly and carry a big stick" Your voice doesn't need to be booming and commanding. Force of will can subsidize that. When people understand through your presence that your words carry consequences, they will be respected regardless. However, what will help is thinking through what you want to say, get comfortable saying it, then speaking. Having a clear thought allows you to more confidently present it, which will lead to feeling like your voice is stronger.

The difference here, to what I'm reading, is you're describing having a collection of assets you enjoy spending time with. That's the different world view I was commenting on. Honestly, I don't rank the value of my friends vice my time, money or energy, when the need someone or something, when I decide to visit, all that. Some of my best friends I've known for months, some for decades. It's the life in your years, as is said. There's a difference between consciously acknowledging the metadata of…

It's interesting to see the world described this way. I choose to keep distance between business and my friends. Not to say I don't recognize value that they present (this one knows certain people, this one is in this industry) but if it's a friend, and not acquaintance, I simply choose to leave the business aspects of those relationships be unless I'm in dire need (of a job, etc.), at which point, that's what friends are for. I expect you're perfectly happy with the way you interact with people…

Used this ^ program when I started lifting again a few years ago. Saw real gains, felt great, and it has no complicated movements to remember. Very straightforward to get a workout in. The only thing with the exercises it prescribes is that it's really easy to injure yourself with bad form. So, also get one of the trainers at whatever gym you choose to work with you on form a few times so you know how it should feel/look.

Sorry to dig this up after two weeks, but I just wanted to point out that many homosexuals get married and have kids. Married men and women come out all the time. No argument WRT special treatment and protected status today. Consideration 15-30 years ago when they were being targeted, yes. Today, no need. Similar to the unions and such.

I can't understand why ^ would get down voted, pretty straightforward. I can definitely confirm it being easier though still limited by all the PC bullshit for bi guys. I feel for my just-straight friends, that if none of us are pulling wool I can whip out my phone and line up a dude while they have to go home and boot up their computers instead. But, none of them are going to suddenly become gay. Your brain has to be wired to get turned on by a dick, that's pretty basic right there. Roosh is fu…

That's the approach. You can dial up the sarcasm/personal-value part by dropping the "don't worry baby" to keep it fresh. It's an opportunity to remind her she's not the only one worth seeing in the relationship.

This. A lot of guys here hate on relationship talk and only want talk here to be about hooking up. But from day one is been obvious that TRP is a personal reboot and the key for long, satisfying relationships.

This. How is it his responsibility? This is maybe the one way a woman can choose to get pregnant and the man have had 0 say. Even at a sperm bank you know some lady's going to have a kid from your seed. There could be no expectation of having a kid from that sex act.

“There’s a 5-year-old child here,” Mirabelli said. “Imagine how a child feels when your father says he feels emotionally damaged by your birth.” Well for fuck's sake I hope no one is giving this 5 year old color commentary on the court proceedings. That sentence is at the end of the article just to make sure a flame war erupts in the article comments. What an ignorant misdirection.

I don't like this article. I can't put my finger on why, but many of the points feel like they're synthesized from other ideas or observations, so that when you read them they "sound" right, but under scrutiny are not particularly novel. The argument here (there are lots of "dads" and they all suck) strikes of the melodramatic rationalization of personal shortcomings that our psychologically obsessed culture masturbates to.

Most (especially young) men don't know they've been raised or conditioned beta. Alpha and beta are a continuum, it's not binary. I can't imagine not having empathy for guys that don't understand the situation.

Let me ask you a serious question: would you want to be part of a system that sets standards that are literally impossible for many – if not most – people to achieve? What about one where you’re expected to be always on the verge of violence? One where the only acceptable emotion is perpetual anger? One that requires that you sever or truncate most of your emotional relationships in pursuit of membership? Especially when your membership is continually in danger of being stripped from you through…

Labeling women as "crazy" is a way of controlling them. Well, yeah. Once the "crazy" card has been pulled out, women are now put on the defensive: The onus is no longer on the man to address her concerns or her issue; it's on her to justify her behavior, to prove that she is not, in fact, crazy or irrational. No, the woman is maybe knocked out of her hamster wheel and challenged with an external perspective. Why on Earth shouldn't she need to establish that she isn't crazy or irrational? The onu…

Trust, fidelity and empathy absolutely could have existed up until very shortly before some act. There are so many reasons it could happen that just saying "well it was fucked from the start" is kinda ridiculous. I mean, the fact we're talking about infidelity makes it that fidelity existed up until the instant that the figurative bj happened. The number of people I've talked to that have experienced infidelity in their marriage leads me to believe it's common. I think there's a parallel here to…

While I agree the rape culture is mythology, I can't imagine people just bringing it up even if someone in a group did get raped... "Aw man, a 7-10 split. That reminds me of that time Johnny raped me..." "Aunt Sallie, can we get more potato salad? So like I was saying grandma, there I was, walking down the alley, when..."

What throws me is that no one in the comments can ever imagine a woman falsely accusing. Everyone leaps so quickly to defend the horrible, dastardly, evil culture that hates on women who've been raped... if so much of our culture really feels that way, and if rape comes down so hard on the accused rapist so often, does our culture really hate on alleged rape victims anymore? I would say no.

Hold your butts, I live in Europe and just woke up. I'm not sure where you found the definition "So good as to..." because I've never seen it defined as such. My usage has always considered the definition "not to be criticized" (http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/beyond+reproach , which takes it from the Cambridge Dictionary of American Idioms). Looking at this, I think it may have read like I was saying rape is beyond reproach, which I wasn't. I was saying the fact that it happens is. So, if t…

The thesis on TRP, though, is that Alpha is the natural dynamic we've pussified out of males in modern history, that it's close to a biological imperative. A beta might be "genuine" as in he's mindfucked himself into really, truly knowing those values to be true, but I think it's psychological, and psychology can almost always be overcome.

Meet them in dark rooms or on ski lifts... But seriously, the thing to accept is that your height has become a crutch for you. It's an easy fall back. Actually consciously acknowledge that it's an internal ego protection mechanism, then stop letting it be. Some of the most prolific guys I knew in college were in the 5-8 Club. You're on a good site to correct that. I can't find the links, but there's good frameworks around here for busting out of that beta shell. Get a hobby, join a gym, pick up a martial art, join a team sport, etc. I have a few friends who get really severe social anxiety. I've found it really helps when I ignore it and just go on with what we're doing as if it wasn't happening. They very quickly draw on that and their social confidence comes back. Team sports in particular are great analogs of that…

It's an American imperative to be better than everyone. Going too bold can definitely be good, can also be ridiculous for sure. I wouldn't pull the rip cord though, part of self-respect is taking care of yourself & how you look.

It's common courtesy after a post has started getting comments to do so. This is true generally with interpersonal relationship. Attempting to change your role - a promotion, going from the funny guy to someone respectable, bachelors settling down, whatever - gets resistance from everyone else that relies on you, in that roll, to make their little life narrative keep chugging along.

What's a manlet? I'm 6'. But I'm average/short in this area, actually. No reactions is nothing to worry about, you're probably reaping the benefits from that lifehack already. There was a delta here - my posture is normally mediocre as I just don't think about that shit often. Here I made an effort to correct and someone who normally sees my slouch saw it.

This is getting off point, but, that first bit is not so. I'm lucky to get to interact with members of all the branches. Air Force, Coast Guard and Army officers are much more your average spectrum. Some alphas, many betas. Most officers who are non-combat MOS are normal office Joes who all wear the same suit. Marine and honestly Navy officers, however, present a much more alpha presence than the average. And, not saying this from bias - my brother's a soldier, my grandfathers were airmen (well,…

Related, a girl I'd been seeing and had gotten to know my circle of friends, subsequently told all the women in the group of friends taht I had been cheating on her the entire relationship. Books have mostly been light backgrounds with dark text for, forever. I would be suspect of that person's knowledge if they're telling you that light backgrounds make a person blind. Small fonts are a pain in the ass, though. Get a book and hold it a normal distance from your face. Then sit in front of your computer, and move the book up so you can see both the book and screen. The text on the screen should look about the same size as the text on the book.
