Ugh that’s so rude. Sorry you had to deal with that.

Your dopamine loop is tricking you into being addicted to her. Look up intermittent reward schedules.

If you Google him he was the last male contestant on the Bachelor. The show is stupid but his outfits are not.

As a woman I agree that excessive attention feels overwhelming… and it’s not that I take it as a guy being insecure, but rather un-self-aware, a love bomber, or a disingenuous extrovert. If a guy were to talk to me in a thoughtful way, like ask me questions about myself, laugh with me, hold eye contact… 🥵 just be confident but in a quiet easygoing way.

First I think it’s amazing that you’re so respectful and patient. Women often feel pressure to get physical quickly, and sometimes the regret of doing that too fast will ruin the relationship (or “situationship”). So as a woman I wanna say thanks for not forcing this girl into something she wasn’t ready for yet. She’s clearly attracted to you so that’s a good thing! I would kiss her first, like in a romantic moment or at the end of your next date. Let the physical part progress in an organic way…

Most of the female education that men receive from a very young age is toxic, polarizing, or just inaccurate. Men are taught to objectify women as objects of control, always trying to force an outcome or manipulate her feelings to match theirs, and if that outcome isn’t achieved, men are made to believe they’re “inferior”. So the options are to either dominate a woman / make her feel something for you, or internalize shame that you weren’t able to do it. Ive heard so many younger boys worry abou…

So much respect for you - the ghosting, the slow fade, bread crumbing… all awful, toxic behaviors we need to stop. This post gives me more hope that we can. People who use cop outs like “you don’t owe anyone anything” or “we all do it” are just trying to avoid discomfort by intentionally lacking maturity or empathy. You clearly have both of those in large supply so thank you for changing the system and giving others a way to do so as well.

Therapist in training here, and this person sounds extremely toxic and emotionally manipulative. I’m so so sorry you had to encounter her. Please drop her immediately bc these types of people thrive on controlling or damaging others.

That’s so annoyingly small, haha. Wish you didn’t have to deal with that. What if you organize a group outing and include that girl? So you can interact in a group setting as friends?

That’s so fucked up, I’m really sorry you have to deal with that! Like rejection itself is already stressful, and to add bullying to that… I’m so sorry. 🥺 I get why this would be so hard for you. Why are people such assholes at your school? Is it just a really small class so everyone is in everyone’s business?

I totally hear you. Rejection is really scary and painful. I was so awkward in high school that when I did try (esp as a girl which is terrifying) I got rejected constantly by guys. But over time and with therapy I realized that the threat of rejection is more of a numbers game than a reflection of me. People aren’t rejecting me because I suck… they’re rejecting me because I’m not their personal preference, just like you might not be personally attracted to other girls in your class who might th…

Well first of all pls don’t say pussy 🥺 you came from one so it would be nice to respect them haha. Second if you guys are making eye contact that’s a great sign! Means she’s open. I also get super nervous with crushes but feel supremely confident around anyone else, haha. Can you ask her about something random, or smile, or ask her to go on a walk? I know that feels scary but if you’ve made eye contact multiple times it means shes down to be approached.

I’m so happy you enjoyed it! It’s amazing how much commonality can be found in toxic childhoods. I think it says a lot about your openness as a person that you were willing to listen to such a different identity than your own, and even note times in your past when you exhibited destructive behaviors (we’ve all done them, but not all of us can be that self aware). I also had a male friend tell me he felt really validated by another podcast episode, “Do We Really Want Men to Be Vulnerable?” On the…

I just found a podcast through Tik Tok called the Man Enough podcast. It’s a podcast specifically for men that provides healthy dialogue and anti-toxic-masculinity advice for stuff. I haven’t listened to all of it but there were some really great episodes I saw just skimming through it. I’d be curious to hear your thoughts!

I’m so happy to hear this! And you’re absolutely right about vulnerability not always being treated with respect or gentleness, in both male and female circles. I appreciate that you still try despite that. I also highly recommend the “Lovers and Friends” podcast episode, Do We Really Want Vulnerable Men? I think you might find some helpful insights and validation from that interview (I sure did as a female therapist in training who works on vulnerability with men).

I’m a therapist in training and when I sit with male clients, I encourage a sense of gentleness or kindness with the “needy” side because it’s coming from a genuine place. Men are conditioned to control, perform, and emotionally isolate, so it makes sense that you’d feel thrown off or vulnerable when you make an effort with someone and they don’t treat you with transparency or respect. The communication skills of today’s world in general cause anxiety for so many people. So first I want to norma…

Build her up then ghost her back 😂 jk. If you’re into her then keep humoring her. At some point when you’ve gotten over the initial part of reconnecting, you could ask her what she’s been up to since you guys stopped talking. Classy way to reference that time and see what she responds instead of asking her outright.

Sexual enjoyment depends on the context and the personality. Maybe this wasn’t the right context for you to feel really connected... maybe you’re a sapiosexual... maybe you expected more, your first time... maybe you were so in your head making her happy that you didn’t enjoy the subservience... a million reasons why this experience might’ve not been ideal. But it doesn’t mean you’ll always feel like this! Just explore what appeals to you and what personalities you’re drawn to. Maybe wait things…

32F - a few suggestions : 1) “I was remembering (xyz that happened last time you were all together, drink or food you all had, restaurant you went to) and it made me think of you. How’ve you been?” 2) “hey. how’s your (week / weekend) going?” 3) ballsy - but something I and a lot of other females LOVE : call her. If she doesn’t pick up, don’t leave a voicemail.
