Also true on snow and ice, because it gets soft in the afternoon. Made this mistake on Mt. Blanc, wading through slush back to the Aiguille de Midi on the way down from the summit. Nightmare.

I think their problem is that if they think "what to do in this situation" (ie., how should the guy behave, in the most general sense) then they react by taking their own position as the way to go. The problem is, when they are confronted with that behavior, then they react according to the other person doing it. So, they would proceed by talking about it, and so forth, and hence say that is what a guy should do. But when they actually see the guy opening up, they react to that, and in practice …

I can go out (well, C19 depending) and have a meal in public. Why can't a baby have a meal in public? I'm in the UK, no big deal here. There is a load of sick shit on display, this isn't one of them. Disney should apologise.

When I was younger, blowing your load in a gal’s face wasn’t something that happened often. Today? I’m probably considered a deviant for finishing inside her. To be fair, when I got started (late 1970s/early 1980s) nobody worried much about STDs. I'd guess that oral is now much more common (relatively speaking), and if she doesn't swallow then a face full is the next step.

I browse /r/marriedredpill from time to time. Mostly they come over as a bunch of smug, self-satisfied arseholes, but they do have a point. If you are going to have a woman, you have to set boundaries right up front, you have to stick to those boundaries, and you have to be clear that if she goes outside the boundaries then she is toast. Still easier to GYOW though ......

UK also. Nominal Codid19 mortality so far is about 128K in a 66M population, so less than 0.2% of the population. But a very large fraction of those overlap with eldery people who would have died of something else, so the excess death rate is quite small. So, yes, massively overhyped. See my other comment in this thread about the evidence showing that lockdowns alone have no significant effect on cases and deaths. Of course, they fuck the economy, lead to other deaths, etc.
/r/MGTOW01/07/21 01:37 PM

There is a fair amount of peer-reviewed studies out now that look at whether lockdowns have any useful effect on C19 rates and mortality, and the answer is pretty definitive: lockdowns alone have no useful effect. Lockdowns in countries that can close their borders can work. New Zealand and Australia are the best examples of this. In Europe, Norway and Finland fit because although they have land borders, the borders are not porous (mountainous, snow/ice, etc). For countries (or in the USA, indiv…

Thing is, the comparison between on the one hand really dressing up, and on the other hand looking like a sack of shit, is a false dichotomy. The woman in the video is in the plain-jane category (to my mind), but with very little effort she could make her hair look nicer and wear something nicer that is still practical (me, I quite like the short pinafore dress, top and tights look, but whatever floats your boat). Oh, and smile a bit. But no, its the shapeless sweat pants, hair all over the plac…

I'm in the UK, consider my self centre-left economically. But at the moment, I'd vote Conservative over here because Labour has become a total woke shit-show. If I was in the US I'd have voted for Trump. I know quite a lot of people who are in much the same position. Times make for strange bedfellows.

There is an LGB Alliance in the UK, formed in opposition to the LGBT-alphabet-soup group Stonewall (which back in the day really was a good organisation supporting LGB rights, then got taken over by the lunatic trans lobby). Actually, I think LGBS should be considered a separate grouping :)

Another way to look at it is, in the past you needed two people to operate as an economic unit, with a division of labour between the two. One person "went out to work" (factory, fields, workshop, etc.) and the other "stayed at home to work" (cleaning, cooking, looking after kids, etc.) In practice this was the man and the woman respectively. You can either view it that they were paid as a pair, or that the man was paid and in turn paid the woman. Nowadays, for a host of reasons (ubiquitous pers…

This is the correct reply, because you have to decide first what your outgoings are going to be (at current prices). The amount you need is then a fixed multiple of that value (making a few assumptions about inflation v. investment returns). The calculation then works however frugal - or not - you are going to be. One of the FIRE subs has a fuller explanation somewhere.

Early 60s. Married with kids (quite old Dad). Wish I was MGTOW but not going to run out on the kids. Like to think life would have been better if RedPill, MGTOW and FIRE were a thing then. Anyway: Biggest piece of advice is, decide on your boundaries and stick to them. That does not mean to have to be an arsehole to other people, but decide which things are negotiable and - importantly - which are not. Absolutely do not compromise on the latter. I compromised on too many things. Bad news.

This occurs in another context. Man and Woman make a decision: should they do A or B to have the best chance of reaching C. Lets say they agree to do A, on the basis of what they know at the time [1]. If it turns out they reach C then well and good. But suppose they fail to reach C. Generally, with hindsight, you can see why. Man will say something like "OK, so we have some extra information E now which we can use in the future, but at the time A was the right choice". The woman though will inte…

From a survival-of-the-species viewpoint the men (in this case, males) taking the risk is the correct strategy. The problem is the "toxic masculinity" mantra that is running parallel.
/r/MGTOW14/06/21 07:41 AM
1

I did not say "every single woman out there is toxic" just as I did not say that "every single driver out there is an idiot". The problem is that in the current environment, one "toxic" woman (not the word I'd choose personally) can ruin a mans life, in the same way that one idiot driver can. So I stand by my claim, the safest strategy is to assume any given woman might be "toxic", even though I know that the majority are not.

Women are only able to say what a man wants from a woman, and will never say in public what they want in a man as it isn't considered appropriate by society (or at least the public side of society). Interesting question is how many women actually realise that what they say they want, and what they actually want, are different.
/r/MGTOW211/06/21 10:33 AM

This is the correct answer to the yes you should/no you should not argument. Its like for example driving a car. Most other drivers are not idiots, but a few are, so the best strategy is to assume all drivers are idiots ("defensive driving") So there can be an upside to those things, and there can be a downside to those things. The downside is massively greater than the upside. Don't do it.

From the linked study: What we found is that de-identifying applications at the shortlisting stage of recruitment does not appear to assist in promoting diversity in hiring. In fact, in the trial we found that overall, APS officers generally discriminated in favour of female and minority candidates. This suggests that the APS has been successful to some degree in efforts to promote awareness and support for diversity among senior staff. It also means that introducing de-identification of applica…

The Beta Bucks have been starved of pussy during their testosterone-fuelled years, so any prospect of sex they will do anything to get it (marrying the wrong woman, doing all the chores, buying expensive gifts etc). Actually, I think this is bi-modal. Sure, some of the beta bucks (a majority no doubt) will do that. But a sizeable minority, by the time they are old and stable enough to have women interested in them, will decide that life is actually pretty good and why give it up. This is why the…

There are a whole bunch of things you can use to filter people. Some of the time, those things will filter out people who should not be filtered out, but nevertheless, using those things is still a good way to proceed. So, in this case, tattoos are a red flag. Disclaimer: I don't believe in Astrology in any form, I just know a bit about it .... .... but there is an extra irony here. The stuff you see in the astrology pages of women's magazines isn't even astrology by any reasonable measure. Any serious astrologer will view that stuff with total derision. The charts and stuff in the magazines are a shadow of what astrology is actually about. So, you have a load of women giving credence to something which is not even what it claims to be.

Mid 60s, health, no co-morbities. One the one had a known low risk from Covid19. On the other hand, nothing known about possible long-term risks. So, no is a no-brainer. And, philosophically, my red line is nobody should have to take medication for someone else's benefit.

According to a talk I cam across, in the UK in court cases that are thrown out by the judge because the woman is clearly lying, the court and police do not prosecute, because it would stop other women coming forward. This is total shite. It is not as if failure to convict the guy automatically means the woman would get prosecuted, only if she is obviously lying.

UK only has 2% of conviction rate. Among rest 98% that are acquitted, there are falsely accused and not enough evidence. Court accepts minimum evidence for rape conviction and yet it is still 2% and decreasing. That shows there are more falsely accused than actual criminals. Why UK women are lying about rape? Because CPS pays max £44,000 compensation for filing police report of rape. Incentives are worth telling lies without consequences. There was a talk on YouTube where the guy says that he lo…

As best as I can remember, the term "Rape Culture" has only appeared fairly recently. I think that their argument about how dangerous society is to women has not gained the level of traction they want, so they falling back on this idea that things like wolf-whistling, chatting a woman up, yada-yada, are a "culture" that normalises rape. Total bollox of course, and it just plays on the victim narrative (which is just as bad for women as it is for any group, because it strips away agency).

There is an interview of Dave Rubin on the YouTube Unherd channel, mostly talking about the Intellectual Dark Web (IDW). But part way though he says he thinks that there will be a split between organisations that enforce equity via quote hiring, and those that do not (which might I guess depend on national or states laws). Then the first group will end up much less competent than the latter group, with the inevitable fuck-ups bu the former.

Asking yourself what you need from a product and then waiting at least a few weeks to a few months, depending on the price, is the easiest way to save a shit ton of money without actually doing anything There is this idea that people appreciate things more if they have to wait for them, simply because of the wait. Years ago I read an article about male package tour reps (maybe a UK thing, all in holiday package to somewhere like a Mediteranean island, the reps were there to look after people, arrange trips out, that sort of stuff). Lots of single women on the tours, no shortage of short-term no-strings sex for the guys (and this was the 80s so no comeback if she got pissed off). One guy said he always went for the less attractive ones because they were the desperate ones and would do anything you wanted i…

So, basically, societal pressure. Actually, as a man (in the UK) I sometimes look back to the period before the Victorians and think, people (at least, people who could afford it) had a much more fun time, clothes wise, than we do now. I remember reading Erin Pizzey's "Prone to Violence" in the 1980s, which argued that attraction to violence was an epigenetic effect, and that some women (who the book was primarily about) would leave one violent partner only to move on to another. I have no idea whether her proposed mechanism was correct, but the observation seemed correct. But then, of course, she was shouted down for victim blaming (not that that term as such existed then). Little did I realise at the time that this, and the …

Sure, I can agree with that. And, at least for now, there is nothing to be gained by MGTOW striving for mainstream acceptance. Change is only going to come - if ever - when the system breaks down badly enough.

The strategy in lots of articles like this is that MGTOW is a very small group people, that they are a lunatic fringe, and that therefore they can be ignored. In reality, MGTOW is a lot of people. Exactly how many, well, it is not easy to define a MGTOW/not-MGTOW criteria, but I think we'd agree it is a large number. Feminists are also a very large number (with the difference that nobody claims otherwise). So if there are lots of MGTOW, and lots of feminists, then neither group are lunatic fring…

I also don’t have a lot of faith in science to address it either. That’s another debate entirely but the most immediate reference I can offer is that the crucible creates a new species such as the coy wolf while intelligent design developed the pug dog. Ever since the monkeys left the jungle it has been culture that creates space for/preserves masculinity. The effects of modern life on our ability to keep masculinity alive have been catastrophic I think this has actually been true of both spaces for men and spaces for women. A huge problem currently is that spaces for men are under attack, while spaces for women are preserved (at least, they were, only now they are coming under attack from the lunatic trans fringe). So men lose places in which …

IIRC the statistic from the FBI is that about 3-5% of rape accusations are proven to be false. At the other end, say 20% are proven to be true (or some figure like that). That leaves about 75%. Are they all false; almost certainly not. Are they all true; also almost certainly not. So all we can say is that somewhere between 5% and 80% are false (in the same way we can say that between 20% and 95% are true). What the actual number is, nobody knows for sure. Back in the day it was impossible for most people to operate as a one-person economic unit. Shops were only open during normal working hours; personal transport was rare; home automation was almost non-existent. People had to have a partner where on person worked in a job and the other looked after the home. In principal that could be M/F either way round, M/M or F/F, but in practice, M/M and F/F were socially not allowed, and M/F was men in a job because of biology (and hence, this idea of wome…

One thread that runs through MGTOW is that men need to take responsibility for their lives, and generally do; while women regularly don't. That should mean taking responsibility both for your own actions, and for the situations you find yourself it. In this case the guy gets hit with the latter (the daughter who turns out is not actually biologically his), and blows it. The mother was irresponsible, the grandmother is irresponsible; the guy is not much better.

This is a bit like when a guy finds some other guy is (unknowingly) fucking his girl and gets arsey with that guy. No, the other guy is not at fault, all the fault lies with the girl; kick her out and have a beer with the other guy, because he is the innocent party. Similar here, the daughter is the innocent party (and he has 15 years of father/daughter relationship). The mother is the bad apple.

I'm like mid-60s and healthy so not quite in the risk group yet. But (unless I have some total change of viewpoint, which I think is unlikely) then in say 15 or 20 years time, I would consider it completely immoral and totally unacceptable to expect younger and healthy people to take a medical procedure on someone else's account. So, stick to your guns.

Y, read that about health workers in the US. There were reports in the papers here in the UK than in some places up to 50% of health workers were dubious at best, and like 20% definitely would not. Anecdotally, I know of one person (theater nurse) who says she will resign if it is mandated.

Maybe, maybe not. The reverse argument is that if an adverse reaction is possible, then it is more likely in someone with a robust immune system than someone with a weaker immune system, ie., a younger health person compared to an older sicker person. Which way it actually goes, who knows?

Actually, in the west at least, massive reductions in child mortality - and mortality in general - preceeded vaccines. So add built sewage systems; built clean water systems; built better housing; ensured better food supplies (OK, that one has backfired a bit with junk food); an so on. Vaccines are the icing on the cake (eg., UK, measles mortality fell by 99% before the vaccine; whooping cough fell by 95%). Source, UK government statistics.

MRA (men’s rights activists, who pretend to care about the very real problems in men’s lives in order to blame it all on the feminists) You can argue about whether or not the MRA guys are deluded in thinking anything might change, but pretend to care about the very real problems in men’s lives .... As often noted, MGTOW does not recruit, men just arrive. Also, as often noted, it is almost impossible to persuade a man that Red Pill is true, men have to see it first. The fact that boys and young men are talking about MGTOW and Red Pill shows that they are seeing first hand what a shit show it is, and refutes any "indoctrination" arguments.

This is a bit tangential to the post, but I had been thinking about this for a while, and it seems sufficiently related that I'll not create a separate post. So, my question is, to what extent is Red Pill demographically skewed towards guys who started as "low class" but made it to "middle class". I'm a Brit so the term "class" has all sorts of funny associations, but I mean like moving up from the "lower" socioeconomic groups. I feel that this is true, with the corollary that the women on this …

Its depressing how things have changed. There were women who survived the holocaust concentration camps by "selling" their bodies to their captors, and there is no way I would criticise anyone in that situation for making that choice; yet there were women who never went through the same ordeal who treated those survivors as the scum of the earth for what they did. Now, just a couple of generations later, its "you go girl, be strong and independent", when your life is not on the line, even slight…

Older guy here, early-mid 60s. If she is 55-60 then she looks pretty good to me, at least as far as the picture goes. Nice smile, OK figure. Women under like 30 may look cute, but it feels too pervy. That's just my take though. I kinda feel sorry for her. So far as I can tell, women were nowhere near as whorish back then, sure some were, but nothing like what passes now. If feminism had stopped around the 80s they had a pretty sweet deal, get a job or be a SAHM, both were open and both were acce…

The other half of the technology thing is stuff like ubiquitous personal transport, home automation (washing machines, freezers, etc). Back in the day, living on your own was difficult, because of time constraints (so in the UK, guys living "in digs", I guess that's a "boarding house" in the US?). Which meant that the one person going out to work, one person at home, team was the thing. Now, that is no longer necessary. Add in women no longer prepared to be the "at home" person, a huge reason fo…

I don't think this is right. A scientific paper generally says something of the form "we have gathered and analysed data D and on that basis conclude T" where T is a falsifiable statement. Now I come along and say "I have debunked the paper". There is immediately a problem, because what I have (or have not) done is not specified. There are 3 possibilities: I demonstrate that the data is invalid. If so, then the paper is in effect worthless. My debunking shows that, in the context of the paper, t…

Amusing story. In the 1960s my Dad owned a Lotus Elan (S2 if i remember). Eventually, decided to sell it, so returned it to the dealer for them to sell, was then abroad for 6 weeks. Got back, dropped in to the dealer, they said that they had not sold it. But, he saw the log book (UK, paper ownership document of the time) and it had a new name on it. Gave them hell, they came clean .... ... they had sold it to a woman, and had delivered it to her house, and driven it into the garage for her. Next…

First comment (when I looked, anyway): Time to end the relationship. Your boyfriend does not accept the changes you've made to your appearance, and his siding with his parents made that perfectly clear. If they are going to try to dictate the way you look, the choices that are your to make, and change you then this is not a relationship you want to be stuck in. Thing is, this is right ... except for the word dictate. No: boyfriend has preferences, went out with her on the basis of those preferen…

I sympathise with the guy. Its a lot worse than my position but I see so much of myself in it. And, likely, just like me, he will deal with the consequences. He knows he made a mistake, just as I do, but men face up - or fucking well should face up - to the consequences of our actions. I'm not abandoning my kids and he, likely, will not either. Would that women did the same.

Pretty much. Algebra comes from Arabic for "the restoring of broken parts" which was the title of a book by al-Khwarizmi (name sounds a bit the same!). Decimal notation (and the concept of zero as a number which was a huge step forward) originated around India. Calculus was invented by Newton and Leibnitz at about the same time; Newton's notation came to be the one we now use. After that it pretty well developed in Europe before spilling out. And yeh, I count myself as a scientist. There is a lo…

Recommendation: If you (male) don't want kids and you do want to fuck women (ignoring arguments about whether that is actually a good idea or not) then (a) get a vasectomy (b) get it checked from time to time and (c) make sure she knows both (a) and (b). Also make sure enough friends know (a) and (b) so you have witnesses. No guarantees, but it shifts the odds a least a bit towards you. Edit: So getting a vasectomy may be difficult depending on where you live and stuff, but at least check it out…

The classic version of this is: They are telling this of Lord Beaverbrook and a visiting Yankee actress. In a game of hypothetical questions, Beaverbrook asked the lady: ‘Would you live with a stranger if he paid you one million pounds?’ She said she would. ‘And if he paid you five pounds?’ The irate lady fumed: ‘Five pounds. What do you think I am?’ Beaverbrook replied: ‘We’ve already established that. Now we are trying to determine the degree. https://quoteinvestigator.com/2012/03/07/haggling/

Tell me about it. My wife (yeh, sorry, MGTOW/RedPill arrived too late for me, now stuck because I'm not going to abandon the kids) has the strategy that if there is a clean X (whatever X is) in the cupboard, then it comes out rather than clean anything up. A while back I deliberately removed half of the crockery and half of the cutlery because I was fed up with washing up (no dishwasher) like about 30 knives, 20 forks, etc. etc. Its bizarre, when I cook, by the time I get to serve up, everything…

Can't say about the US, but in the UK, PHE (Public Health England) counted as a C19 death anyone who died and who have been tested positive any time in the preceding three months (like, you could be run over by a bus and counted as a C19 death). The govt. had to order PHE to sort this shit out. This isn't a conspiracy but it is deaths being over counted.

Virus mutation tends to make the virus become *less* lethal over time, because the more lethal variants propagate relatively more slowly; the less lethal variants propagate faster. However, immunological cross-reactivity means that surviving one confers immunity against the other. This is especially true in humans who are pretty good at self-isolating, like staying home when they are ill (varies depending on things like job but the skew remains). This is Darwinian evolution in action. It is why …

Back in the day, which in my case was the late 1970s, early 1980s, I was a blue pilled simp. WTF? I mean, if you are attracted to someone, it is the combination of personality, appearance, and all the rest. The whole "you should love someone for who they are" argument is crap, not because that statement is false, but because it is true. The person "they are" is the combination of things, granted people change over time (which is why LTRs often suck) but if they suddenly change something a lot, then they are no longer the same person. Why should you be expected to have the same feelings …

I'm a copywriter working from home, but she doesn't know I've been pulling some decent income in the last few months I assume that means you are building up a secret stash? I'd absolutely advise any married (or partnered) guy to do that. Even if you are not intending to leave (kids, whatever) then cutting down on "commmunal" spending (translation: her spending) and having something to fall back on can make life a bit more tolerable.

Sex seemed OK before getting married, though looking back on it, it was pretty rubbish, but at the time I'd not had much success with girls. Afterwards, it ground to a halt. The real problem turned out to be she had a big problem with anticipation, so something like going out for a meal would lead nowhere, because she'd be worrying about whether it would work or not, and when we got home, she'd freeze up. Then she would be like "tell me it's all right, we can try again next time, can't we". Simp…

If that really is the case, then good, though I'm not going to hold my breath. Brings to mind something I've noticed. Feminism eventually lead to the whole "intersectional" thing, like if you are black, you have problems, if you are female you have problems, if you are working class you have problems .... so if you are black and female and working class the "intersection" of those things means you have some problems unique to that group. And to some extend that is true, but notice how it is neve…

This. It's called passaging. The virus mutates, more lethal mutations are out completed by the less lethal mutations, especially amongst humans. We self-isolate quite well, so the less lethal mutations get more change to propogate (but because of antibody cross-reactivity, immunity gained from the less lethal mutation is still good against the more lethal mutation).

Dodge the questions where they put answers to your mouth: Example:She asked "So you said he was rude and nasty?"You don't answer the positive unless you really want to tell. Weinstein was a shit, abused his power, all that. But, here is the scary thing. An expert witness told the jury that rape victims may not fight back. Fair enough, guy is likely larger, more powerful. The expert witness said that women may go on to have relationships with the rapist afterwards. Maybe, maybe not. But, that second point is the killer. Basically, any woman can now claim to have been raped. The fact that they continued a relationship after the alleged rape is irrelevant. You have no …
