If you want a thoughtful answer, you should ask this in r/catholicism. The Catholic Church, as well as all of the other Christian groups, understood why contraception is wrong for centuries. The other Christian groups changed their teachings in the last century to accommodate worldly priorities. This is not a new thing. I've been happily married as a practising Catholic for decades and owe the health of my marriage to the teachings of the Church.

It wasn't about making money. It was to prevent repudiation of valid marriages (priest oversees the vows etc.), prevent bigamy (publishing the "banns" and requiring witnesses), prevent consanguinity (first cousin marriages not allowed), and verify true consent (minimum age, priest to establish there was no duress).

Agreed. TLDR; women hold grudges and are attracted to emotionally stable men.

All of John Flanagan's books. Start with Ranger's Apprentice series, and then move on to Brotherband. Suitable for ages 9+. I've read 95% of the books you have listed, many of them aloud to my children. If you like those ones, you will like Flanagan's series. Don't send them anything that isn't "mainstream" or the parents will work against your influence. Send classics like Treasure Island, not Become the Man Women Want (even if it is a good book). Many softies won't like Ender's Game, even thou…

In addition to putting on 20 lbs of muscles myself, I have had success by making it easy for her: I eat healthy, so it's easy for her to also. My homegym is very accessible for her, so she uses it regularly. It helps that she is naturally competitive, so she naturally wants to be the best head-turner in the room.

Know what qualities you are looking for in a wife. (Not girlfriend qualities, WIFE qualities.) Not even what you are looking for NOW, but what you will want 10, 20, 30 years from now. You might think that little qualities such as good household management, level-headed humility, and self-discipline are good things for a girlfriend to have, but they are actually NECESSARY things for a wife to have. Where do you want to be in 30 years? Do you want to have a trim partner, money, and well-raised chi…

I have been grinding my bench up for a long time now, and the two things that seem to work are the old cliches: VOLUME and FOOD.

I won't unpack everything here, but your three objections to her as a potential wife are pretty major: She exhibits classic female characteristics which drive me insane: Does not take responsibility for her emotions and believes I made her feel whatever Whines and bitches when she wants something Easily offended; takes things personally Number one is a big red flag. Don't get married unless she can change this. If she blames you for everything that makes her unhappy, then it will always be "your…

These bullet points are golden! Ask yourself (and others whom you trust) these hard questions about the woman and yourself. For those 8 points pertaining to the woman, every one that she doesn't pass will likely lead to the destruction of the marriage or (if you are very fortunate and resourceful) will take many years of sacrifice to fix. My wife hits 7 of the 8 (her family is very broken), and it's taken a lot of work but we've been happily married for 16 years. For me, the fullness of life tha…

No one will talk about Number 2 openly, but this is big. If marrying you and building a family together is not her #1 priority now and forever, then she is just a ticking time bomb.

As someone who has many children and knows the ins and outs of making babies (see what I did there?), let me play Devil's Advocate here: Do you understand how awkward and difficult having a baby by the turkey-baster method is? Are you seriously ready to put this impediment in the way? Are you aware of all of the medical malpractice suits against poor internal controls in sperm banks? Are you ready to be told that you will never have children because the freezer broke ten years from now? Look bef…

I have tracked all of this for myself and done the research. You will probably gain faster than you have assumed in the first year, and less than you have assumed in the later years. Given decent genetics, smart training, no injuries, and starting relatively untrained, a 6' tall man should be happy to gain the following: Year 1: 20 lb lean mass Year 2: 10 lb lean mass Year 3: 5 lb lean mass Year 4: 3 lb lean mass Year 5: 2 lb lean mass Lifetime Total: 40-45 lb lean mass I have been lifting for 2…

I don't mean "object of use" in the way you think I do. I mean "object of use" as in using a person merely as a means to an end. You can find a good treatment of this in many books & online articles but I don't think we'll be able to give it adequate treatment in this forum.

Catholic here, we don't use any birth control. We use "Natural Family Planning" and abstain for half of the month. On the plus side, I get to have an awesome lovefest for the last 8-9 days of the month. The "why" is a long answer involving Catholic understanding of the human person, but TLDR is that I don't want to turn my wife into an object of use.

I am 12 months into a successful re-build of myself and my marriage. Sidebar, lifting, etc. I've read all of these books referred to over the years. I totally agree with your identification of the flaws & covert contracts in 5LL, but there was one GREAT step forward that this book helped with: 5LL gets the woman thinking about sex in a different context. Instead of "Why does my husband want it too much?" the wife starts to think "Oh, this is a normal and healthy desire that men have." This is a …

This was always the rule my friends and I used before marriage: (n/2)+7. So, 20 with 17, 26 with 20, 30 with 23, 40 with 27, 60 with 37.

Almost all of my friends are well-educated, well-read, and have large families. I can attest that we are not southerners (not that there is anything wrong with that). Everyone has their own story.

...whether it is for Jesus or to preserve the white race? You should know that it is possible to have children because we find them to be a healthy and natural part of a life plan. Conversely, just because someone does not have a large family does not make them a selfish nihilist. I know many large families, and they all have their own story.

I want sex and feminine company. I don't see the value in an LTR. Well you can have a lot of the first item in a series of STR's, but here is the compromise: If you want quality feminine company with a woman who can complement (not compliment) you and bring out the best in you in an environment of trust and share your history with, you really need an LTR. Especially if you want this history to ever involve your own family. It's conceivable that I might find a woman as amazing as my wife, but I w…

Yes, for sure, a big family meeting would be the worst way to approach this. The presence of the children changes what she would say and complicates the entire conversation. If you want to get to the bottom of it and think that she is able to honestly tell you what it was all about, husband to wife communication without little ears listening is the best.

Yeah, this is the one thing I don't understand about MRP. Almost all of it makes sense to me except the following: We are supposed to be strong leaders who send our wives out to be wage slaves?

You don't want to marry the sort of woman who won't take your last name. I know dozens of great wives who have taken the husband's name, 90% are awesome wife material. I know two women who haven't, both turned out to be feminists.

NO NO NO NO. Just trust me on this one. I'm twice your age and have made reasonably good decisions since the age of 18. I am only saying this so you know that I am not speaking out of my ass. If you ever develop an informed conscience, you will regret this for the rest of your life. NO.
