I'm not a sociologist but I think we are at a tipping point right now. There are a lot of very good ideas coming out of the men's rights movement and I think a lot of people are stopping and thinking "yeah, this doesn't sound so bad." I think men should learn from the women's rights movement is the proper use of rhetoric and marketing. The women's rights movement has got so many memorable buzzwords and phrases "female genital mutilation", "rape culture", "patriarchy", etc. They are not afraid to make signs and gather make their voices heard. Sure they are annoying, but it's worked pretty damn well for them. If women were being given statistically longer prison sentences than men they'd already be doing protests outside courth…

Honestly, I believe that a lot of these teacher student situations are consensual. If anyone doesn't believe that look at the askreddit thread asking teachers if they've ever been offered sex for good grades. That said, they are still minors, and the relationships CAN and often are exploitative. Do I consider it rape? No. But, I also don't think it should be legal.
