Personally, I see this as a red flag. I've had women try to manipulate me this way. They have sex with me early on, and then abruptly pull back. Then she will tease the prospect of sex to keep stringing me along. I'm not saying she is manipulative, just that it's a possibility. I also have low tolerance for drama/games, so if it were me I would dip out.

Agreed. Sounds like OP was just reading the signs and adapting. Absolutely nothing wrong with just leaving the girl a note, if that's what seems most appropriate at the time.

I personally would ignore it. Maybe she liked the other guy better, but maybe she didn't. Maybe she regretted it and is trying to take a different approach. There is simply not enough information to know for sure. Stick to what you know: she's agreed to 3 dates with you, and has expressed openness to getting a hotel room. Things are going well. Proceed accordingly.

Glad it was helpful! Courage is definitely important, but remember to make it enjoyable for yourself too. It shouldn't feel like a chore. You're a lot more attractive if you're genuinely having fun.

Could it be the case that small talk feels insincere and forced? That was the case for me. I tried to force myself "out of my comfort zone," when the real issue is that I just didn't find the person genuinely interesting. It's not that it's uncomfortable, I just hate feeling fake. The solution was to look more closely for things about the person that are genuinely interesting to me. The small talk flows naturally from there.

Generally speaking, this is actually decent advice. I found strip cubs helpful for understanding a woman's POV when she's being approached by men.

They don't have it easier. They just have a different set of problems than men. Because they don't have the same problems as us, we assume they have no problems at all.

There's a book called Mating in Captivity that explains the psychology behind this. I don't remember the details. But basically there's an inverse relationship between closeness and sexual desire. Like, if you're super close and intimate with your partner all the time, there's nothing left to chase. Lot's of married couples have healthy relationships with lots of intimacy, yet their sex lives are basically dead. There's a lot more complexity to it, but that's the general concept.

Precisely. Effective game is a product of authenticity, confidence, and good social calibration. Presenting it as anything else is just setting people up for failure and embarrassment.

Thank you. We need more posts like this. Seduction should be about helping men build confidence and social skills. Not incel pseudo-psychology, like that post from yesterday.

I've met multiple men who use these tactics. Manipulation is a learned behavior that men and women are equally capable of developing. Framing this as something that's inherent in all women is fucking stupid, inaccurate, and adding to the stigma around the seduction community. You're not helping the bros by posting this, you're setting them up to make fools of themselves.

They are similar, but also they are often co-occurring. BPD and NPD have high rates of co-morbidity with other mental disorders, substance abuse, etc.

Lmao well based on that comment I wouldn't expect you to. A woman's worth is not based on the number of partners she's had.

She wouldn't pick you in either situation and that's why you're salty about it.

Something to keep in mind is that, especially with apps, there is always some amount of trial and error. Try screening for a particular set of characteristics. See what kind of results you get. Then try a different set of characteristics and see if it gets you closer to what you want. Test, calibrate, re-test.

Agreed. But i think that's what people envision when you say "extrovert."

Yeah it could be. It's hard to find the right balance. I think it comes down to how well you can read the situation.

Gotcha. Do you think it's a matter of balance? Being direct is helpful, but can scare women away if you do it too quickly.

I understand what you're getting at, but I don't think that's effective. I don't behave like an extrovert, when I try to it just comes off as fake and cringey. It's entirely possible to be successful as an introverted/quiet guy, but you have to take the time to develop your own style that works for you and allows you to behave more naturally.

I think I understand what you're saying. You're getting conflicting feedback from people, and now you feel confused what style to adopt. Here's my personal thought process on how I deal with this. A lot of it is just a matter of framing: Humans are irrational and complex, meaning there is not guaranteed formula for success. We adopt certain styles (nice guy, fuck boy, cocky funny) not to guarantee success, but to optimize probability. No matter how well balanced you are, there will always be som…

I don't find it to be that different from any other Reddit page. Some of the advice is garbage, some is fabricated, some is legitimately helpful. Seek perspective, not answers.

I agree and disagree. I think lots of women are interested in casual sex, but can't pursue it the same way that men do. Part of that is the way that women are socialized. Another part is that women have to be way more risk conscious when hooking up with strangers. If you want proof, look at the sex-capades of gay men. Lots of them will enthusiastically agree to a complete stranger saying "I wanna fuck." 99% of women will not do that. ENM is super popular these days. Lots of women are interested …

And the quickest way to achieve financial security is to rob a bank.

Well, yeah, obviously. Additionally, the quickest way to become financially secure is to rob a bank.

I used to have this exact same problem and it was actually kind of debilitating. I was so mortified of making somebody feel remotely bad that I became paralyzed in social situations. What helped me break out of it was something my counselor explained to me. The way other people choose to behave is not a reflection on me. Making somebody feel bad does not make me bad. It is not my responsibility to manage others' emotions for them. As adults, we are responsible for managing our own emotions and c…
