If I'm ever next to someone on a plane like this, should I say something? Offer to help if they need it? Or just act like I don't see it?

Okay but I'm sure being Italian is a minority too, that doesn't mean people think twice about firing Italians. Cue mob jokes.

Depends on the state. Usually infidelity keeps either party from claiming stuff, but that can be argued by any good lawyer based on time married, children, etc.

You can still go to prison for manslaughter even though you never meant to hurt anyone. Intent is irrelevant. Because of this woman's actions, this guy's going to have to work menial jobs for the rest of his life just to pay his bills.

I think 30 years is definitely harsh. Even 17 years is a ridiculously harsh punishment for rape. She should face massive civil penalties for destroying this man's life, though.

Does anyone know if he has any recourse in civil court? I would want to sue the woman who falsely sent me to prison for 17 years of lost income, plus interest and punitive damages. Personally, I'd donate the damages to the Innocence Project but I'm sure Alan could use the money.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
