A little bit more lighthearted postWait until you start sleeping diagonally. I'm a side sleeper too and its goddamned amazing! You take up more of the bed and you have soooo much room. Also, get a new mattress when you can afford it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/01/21 11:52 AM
Stimulus Check round 2Read the IRS fine print.. It states that the money is PER PERSON. The IRS is expecting some of that money earmarked for her to go to her and you keep yours. She legally stole money from YOU the first time around. You should either A) Do the right thing and give her her portion, or B) Keep per portion and make damn sure you have documented you never got your portion at round one and thats why you are keeping round two portion. Now for the kids,.. If nothing is stated in the divorce decree, you sh… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/01/21 04:44 PM

Am I in troubleThere is taking care of your family then there is taking care of your mental health. Youre clearly leaving your marriage for whatever reason, my lawyer said just about everyone will look for someone to date or somehow feel “alive”. As long as you don’t abandon your kids, if you have any, I dont see why its a huge deal. Also check your state stuff about adultery. It may only affect some sort of alimony, if any, depending on your marriage length. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/10/20 05:42 PM
Am I in troubleDepends on the state. Most don't give a crap about adultery anymore some some still do. Google adultery and divorce for your state and it should help you out. No one is going to give a rats ass what you bought for someone in another home. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/10/20 04:42 PM
Holiday Schedule and New YearMy decree specifically states vacation time must be in writing 30 days before time of vacation as well as travelling out of state. You really need to look at your decree as they're all different. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/10/20 01:28 AM
Co-parenting checkI tried the route of working together but my ex is and has been a huge A-hole and so I do my thing and she does hers. He's 4 1/2 and she still gives him a bottle and babies him, I treat him like a small version of me and it works out well during my time. I still try to work together but its always met with absolute silence. I'll never stop giving up on our son but at some point, its just an email out to her to establish a pattern in case I need it for court someday and move on and do my own thin… | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/10/20 12:37 PM
We got into another argument and I told her flat out, “I am done, leave the key and we’ll get your stuff moved out this weekend”If she's on the lease, you can't legally kick her out. I'm sorry you're frustrated and I have been in your shoes but it may be easier for you to walk away in this situation for a day or so to cool down. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/08/20 06:56 PM
Thinking of pulling the trigger... AgainDon't wait too long or you'll be paying her support till the day you die. and yeah,.. DON'T HAVE KIDS!!! You deserve to be happy, if you're not, prepare to be even more unhappy during the actual divorce but it does get better. Rekindle old hobbies, fishing, woodwork, stamp collecting, anything to keep you occupied and repairing your you. You'll get through this and its better on the other side as long as you learn along the way. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/08/20 06:22 PM
This is about how I feel!Wait till she gets half your stuff and most of your paycheck. You're paying her to slide down some other dudes dick. She also wants the kids full-time because you're filth and they're little goldmines for her. Divorce is fun. Stand your ground and fight like hell. Your kids deserve their dad and don't take anything less than 50/50 unless you physically cannot. Be the best dad you can be, don't put the divorce baggage on the kids, they'll learn the truth in their own time. Don't be afraid to go i… | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/07/20 06:45 PM
STBXW is constantly not showing up for pickups and is drinking and driving with the kidsNEVER EVER talk to your ex. Everything in a text or email for proof and timestamps. Talking is he said/she said and that gets you no where and fast. Courts cant act on "we talked" but they can look at a series of events of you trying to communicate and how it was or wasn't handled by the other party. Like brokenbyher2019 stated, they want and are looking for a pattern of behaviors and a court will act accordingly to adjust that. The was the best advice my lawyer gave me, document, document, docu… | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/06/20 07:46 PM
Shit show of mediationBest of luck with the gofundme. My ex wouldn't listen to reason or anything rational either, the best thing was to just file a court date, wait, go to court, the judge will make fair rulings and you sign the document. I've wasted so much money with the lawyers back and forth getting NOTHING done other than fund their retirements. I tried to be reasonable the entire time and finally just let court happen. The ex was PISSED when the judge said, "Give me one reason why that father shouldn't have 50… | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/06/20 03:44 AM
Question about dating during divorceI'm here to also ask about the 9500 a month. I mean.. jesus christ... As far as dating, yeah tread carefully. ALWAYS put the kids first and foremost and if the new partner has an issue with that, drop them, there are plenty of fish in the sea. Oh and don't settle. REALLY look for a person that will compliment you and is interested in you and has the same interests as you. Find a friend not someone you may think you can change to meet your needs. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/06/20 12:39 AM
Unhappiness in everything. Is this just a midlife crisis? What did you used to do as a kid or loved doing say 10 or so years ago (I dont know how old you are) Since my divorce, I've purchased a 2 door Jeep Wrangler. I owned one 20 years ago and hated that I ever got rid of it (not for her, other reasons). My ex wouldn't ever let me drive with the windows down during our marriage in any vehicle. Since splitting with her, my Liberty was dying so I replaced it with what always made me happy. Now on sunny days, I take the soft top down and ride with the wi… | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/05/20 12:37 AM
She's manipulating the kids and I am starting to see them changeMy custody paperwork from the courthouse specifically says I cannot bad mouth the other parent in front of the child and failure to follow this can result in serious punishment from the judicial system. So keep records of everything and stay vigilant. Like is mentioned below, be there for your kids and don't drag them into this, let them be kids. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/04/20 09:14 PM
Advice about process^ This ^. Go see an attorney. It's about to get really expensive all around but if you want out then its only cash and cash comes and goes. You have one life, be happy and don't put a price tag on that happy. Did you try marriage counselling? | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/12/19 06:25 PM
Alone on Christmas Eve...And It's OkBest of luck my friend. Documentation is THE BEST way to go. Eventually the courts will see through all the BS and she'll be shown her place, it just takes time, lots and lots of time. In the end, its the children who suffer and sad that the other half is so hell bent on you they don't see or care about the damage their doing to the little person right in front of them. That will catch up to your ex too when one day, and it will happen, the child will ask why. Hang in there and Merry Christmas. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/12/19 03:46 AM
Sharing my lessons learned through 10 years of family courtI signed up to check it out. Thank you so much for sharing, I look forward to reading. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/10/19 11:30 PM
Why can’t child support be a pre-tax deduction? If you're a guy, the entire system is stacked against you. The lower earning spouse gets money, the state gets money from BOTH you and the Feds (look it up). You're basically a walking piggy back for EVERYONE until those kids turn 18. Even with the new surge of 50/50 parenting thus a more even support plan, the states (at least PA) added a multiplier to the formula so they STILL get their cut which in turn they get more from the feds. For every dollar they collect in support they get like 40 cen… | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/09/19 12:41 AM
