It would give men who never have kids a huge advantage. It currently gives women an even larger advantage if she doesn't have children. I think this is most of the reason that educated people tend to have way fewer children.

fundamental basis is non-consensual sexual intercourse - force is not a required factor I would disagree; and this is where the "affirmative consent" crap is coming from. If you can say "not right now" and pull up your pants, but choose not to, then I wouldn't say you were raped (perhaps "coerced into sex"). If you you tried and were stopped than physical force was used, and you were raped.

This is a plague in the US school systems, and if you look at other countries the students are constantly writing things to get to the answer. I've taught engineers in the past and it was fucking horrible that they would stare at a word problem blank in the face, and i would have to hold their hands and say "write down what information was given", "what equations could we use that have that information", "see how fucking easy it is!".

I would think that the worst thing for a spouse is that the soldier comes back and can't relate to them anymore. I think that those qtips were made for not human use, or are at least being marketed that way. there are many uses for qtips when you are cleaning various things, and standard qtips pull apart pretty quickly. I would say that it was pretty silly of them to put the word "men" on the container, but the idea of better qtips for cleaning things isn't that bad. I would buy them.

I've heard it multiple places, if you are going to injure someone you would be better off killing them. Hey they are still inflating numbers: It's just over seven per thousand for non-students. Those numbers include victims of completed and attempted assaults, as well as victims of threats. So this isn't even how many rapes occurred, it also includes how many times someone was threatened, or came close to rape. Quotas are never a good thing as they exert false pressures on the market. In our town they added quotas for the parking enforcement. Now instead of using fair discretion they will wait at a meter with 2 minutes left in the hopes of writing a ticket. In this case it creates an environment where one group of people does not have to be at the same level as others to obtain a position. This will only hurt everyone in the long run (even those getting the boost), and should not be considered.

Most evaluating of students (at least in the US) is horseshit. A lot of it is that when a test works we do not like the outcome and so the test isn't picked up. Now we are left with a bunch of memorization, and not even the good kind (grad students from countries outside the US know things like trig, calc, recursion, limits etc. much better than their US counterparts), and students that can't form sentences and do basic math. I started to read your title: Nature declares science "institutionally sexist" and thought "hell yeah it is, women get an unbalanced amount of stem scholarships, and there is a hiring bias for women over men". Then i read the rest of the title, and realized what it was saying. Nature is a pretty good source too, oh well.

It is. Most movements that seek equality age good recruiting grounds for libertarianism. Think of gay rights, take away marriage from the state, solved. You want Walmart to have equal footing with smaller operations? Then stop letting them abuse government programs. You want the sexes to be equal? Stop programs and laws that promote one sex over the other.
