Haha to be honest they’re actually my type. But that’s what my friends complain about.

I’m a girl. All my friends have the “a girl doesn’t do the chasing, if you chase you’re devaluing yourself” mindset. And then complain that the only guys approaching them are ugly awkward incels or old men. They think they never need to chase because guys will always approach them and if guys don’t, there is always Tinder. Which is true - Tinder lets women have the pick of the crop and can drive even below average-looking women to think they’re hot shit. So it really is a supply and demand thin…

Okay thanks, it's been really helpful hearing what getting approached is like from a male perspective. I hope I can work up the courage to be forward and flirtatious. I realize I can be super ballsy on Tinder because I'm in the mindset of, "well we both know we want sex but the guy is going to try to be respectful so I have to be the one to suggest sex" but then in real life I'm too shy, even if the circumstances are exactly the same.

Yeah I never take that for granted. I acknowledge that I'd have a much harder time if I were a guy. It's just social anxiety... I guess I have to keep telling myself to not overthink it, and that guys want to be hit on.

I mean that could work at a bar but at a networking event he might think I'm just trying to level up my career

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
