Try downloading HelloTalk. It's a language exchange app that lets you chat with people fluent in the language you're trying to learn. I've actually had better success on HelloTalk compared to online dating apps lol. There's less expectations since it's not a dating app, so it's easier to make conversation imo.

It's a top tier book imo. Up there with models

That's exciting man! Just be careful to not get too invested too early. I've seen women go from super interested to meh when guys got really invested early on (me included)

She said “hey” to me and said something along the lines of “I just wanted to say hi to you.” I knew it was a yes right after this lol

Agreed, with an emphasis on the don't expect much out of it.

I actually do better with women when I don't masturbate for a while. I'm less shy with making moves

This makes me so happy. This sub has helped me with a lot of great advice and it's great to see it helping someone reach their first dating milestones. Congrats man!

Life is tougher for the average guy than it is for the average woman. I read that the average woman is still considered somewhat attractive to most men, whereas the average man is considered sexually invisible to most women.

This is a great answer that deserves more visibility.

How attractive would you rate yourself? Reason I'm asking is because I've read that a direct approach works best the better you look.

What do you want from this? Are you okay with just staying as friends? Or do you want something more? Don't be afraid of communicating what YOU want, and setting a boundary if she doesn't want something more.

I have this problem too. And I agree that getting rid of the pedestal is the first step. Because even if you do catch an "8+" girl's interest at the start, the pedestal will show eventually, and you'll come off as needy and low-status.

What a great and informative comment. Thanks for elaborating, you summarized frame really well.

I was in a similar boat as you last year. I didn't date for 5 years, so my lack of experience made me completely airball lol. It does suck, but the nice thing about negative emotions is that it fuels change. I took the pain from that missed layup and channeled it into self-improvement: I gained 10 lbs in the gym, studied seduction more, and improved my style. All of this helped me to raise my self-esteem and not miss other layups later that year. Take time to accept the suckiness, but keep your …

I missed a layup before as well and it definitely stings. Best thing to do is to promise yourself that you're not gonna ignore the next layup. Were you hesitant because you're not sure how to escalate? Or lack of experience?

Can you elaborate more on your spiritual awakening? I'm interested because I know that true confidence can come from it

Yeah I do. I definitely agree, it would be the best way to improve. But the harsh truth is that most women just won't tell you. Asking for feedback essentially has the message "hey you ghosted me. Why did you ghost me?", which is weird in itself. Also, if the reason is harsh, they're even less likely to tell you. You can give it a shot though. Just be straight up and honest. If she ghosts you again, so what lol. Otherwise, the alternative is to play the numbers game, tweak your style, and see wh…

I got ghosted before and it does sting, especially when you think there's potential. But you gotta set a boundary here. If someone ghosts you without explanation, is this a type of person you wanna date or even wanna be friends with? Do you actually think they're really cool girls after ghosting you??

It only takes one success to make you believe otherwise. Where are you stuck? Asking a girl out or escalating physically?

This is the best analogy I've seen for escalation.

I think hitting the gym everyday and dressing well really makes you stand out of the crowd lol

I agree with personality, confidence, and conversations playing a big part. But I think you're downplaying looks a lot. To get to a point where she's willing to hold a conversation with you, you have to present yourself well. If I didn't dress well, work out, or groom myself well, I wouldn't have had the same success.

I can't do much to improve my biological traits but at least I can improve my game. Working out, dressing nice, and grooming well boosts your attractiveness a lot. As a 5'6" skinny Asian dude, I had a lot more success after doing these things

Not surprised that most men here are sexually frustrated

Exactly. People are taking this post too literally. The fundamentals are all there: building comfort and escalating. In my experience, the passionate mutual interest isn't even necessary. Just need something to get a good vibe going. And the people assuming this is only working because she's already attracted to him are missing the point. This is all part of the attraction.

I just started a book called Change Anything by Kerry Patterson that references this study. It goes into detail about how to get past instant gratification using sources other than your own willpower (which is actually only one out of the six sources of influence). I'm still going through this book, but I highly recommend it already due to its practical advice.

Truth is your insecurities will hurt you more than being a virgin will. If you're secure about being a virgin and you don't make it a big deal, then it won't be a big deal.

You don't sound like more of an asshole, just more cocky. It happened to me too when my game was at its peak. Teasing and flirting just became natural. It's not a bad thing as long as you yourself don't think you're an asshole. Don't let girls calling you rude dictate whether or not you think you're an asshole. Women have called me rude and not nice for playfully teasing them, but they still ended up being interested in me. The way I feel about it, as long as you're being playful, it's more like…

I was in your shoes about a year ago. Fell head over heels for a girl and became devastated when she went from being interested in me to not wanting to talk to me. I'm going to answer the questions that you're asking yourself. Sorry if any of it sounds harsh. These are things that I wish I could tell myself a year ago. Why did this happen to me? I was a very carefree guy, and now I feel the weight of the world is on my shoulders. Scarcity mindset. When you don't have a lot of dating experience, …

Exactly. Being confident is important but if you don't have the value to back that up, why should she pick you instead of the other confident dudes that are funnier, better looking, or more ambitious than you? Reading all this "there are no leagues, just be confident bro" advice is detrimental in the long run if you don't put in the work to make yourself attractive. Confidence should come from having value, knowing you're attractive, and knowing she's missing out if she chooses not to be a part …

It's not fucked up lol. Working out and how your face looks aren't mutually exclusive either. Working out lowers body fat percentage, which makes faces look nicer. Also, the confidence boost from working out will give you a natural confident facial expression

Very interesting experiment. I'd love to see the same thing done but with physique instead, although I can imagine how long it would take to actually get results.

I don't think he ignores it. From what I understood from the article, both parties must be saying "Fuck yes". If they don't overlap, then the two groups shouldn't waste their time.

I agree that it could seem try-hard on the first couple of dates. But I think this is a great idea later on in a relationship, when your decisiveness on dates actually becomes routine.

I think that this article speaks well about nice, PASSIVE people. I don't want nice, passive people reading this article thinking that in order to find love, they have to stop being nice. You just have to stop being passive and be yourself. To be yourself, you have to know what you stand for. Know your dreams, know your passions, know your priorities. Don't place finding your significant other at the top of any of these things, because I'm damn sure you all can dream much bigger. And don't let a…
