Omg they see women as being worth even less than men who are willing to pay for sex do. I literally never thought of this way.

Actually, if men stop taking these “risks” en masse, and we agree women are humans with agency, they will eventually figure out that doing nothing will not get them the men they want. A lot of women who want men who won’t do this kind of thing do make the move.

Whoa. This is an interesting theory. I think for those of us not on antidepressants it’s more like the Esther Perel idea that danger is exciting but to truly enjoy sex you need to feel safe enough to be playful. Hookup culture doesn’t really allow for enough of that safety feeling you would achieve in LTRs but you still want to feel good and danger/adrenaline/excitement is the next most reliable method. Another reason I enjoy it occasionally is the extreme trust it can foster, which ironically c…

You literally just said TRP use it to their advantage. (If not outright attempt to create it like the PUA tactics.)

I think there are plenty of women who simply do the best they can with what god gave them in the looks department and go about their lives. The word obsessed would not apply to them. But the cultural narrative I was taught is that these women are basically Invisible to men. If there were a society where no one was ever trying to attract a mate then I suppose women and men in that society would not care so much about what they look like.

See, as far as I can tell, FDR is women who date the way you do trying to tell women who don’t to stop being idiotic, as you put it.

You’re right I forgot the intersection of TRP and PUA crap that capitalizes on the poor mental health of others. Maybe it’s the angrier PP men I am thinking of? In any case, don’t you think it is awful for a person of either gender to deliberately want the people they date to feel bad about themselves?

I don’t know, that seems like a tactic of the insecure women they tend to mock...

No, I’m pretty sure the goal is to have a partner you trust and therefore don’t feel the need to snoop on.

According to this entire thread (and sub, I think), “Millennial and Gen Z” women would be better off dating and marrying Xers and Boomers since those men at least see women as complex human beings. Or, you know, making sweeping generalizations according to gender or by generation is essentially useless to everyone except the people being paid to publish endless sociological studies. And of course the journalists and snake oil salespeople writing articles and books about said studies in order to …

Is having an attractive face that hard? I’ve never even seen a short man with an unattractive face. Although I am only five feet tall so nearly any man counts as “tall enough” in my lady brain.

I need help with this. He was a major upgrade from my ex. We were in sync in our love and personal growth for over a year. Now all of a sudden he “will always love me” but has to pursue monogamy with someone else or else he will always wonder and doesn’t want to resent me in the future the way he resented his ex. “If it were up to him” he would keep our communication level the same. Which in my perspective means he is not doing monogamy with anyone. Just because you’re not fucking me doesn’t mea…

This. In my experience with these men, being really good at blowing them only motivates them even more to figure out what will make me feel amazing.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
