Right? It doesn't stop when you get married, it's a constant process of enjoying, reflecting, reassessing, and working through conflicts. I think a lot of people don't realize that until it's too late.

In terms of things that change us, I'm talking about things that cause PTSD and that level of changing someone. There are always extenuating circumstances is my main point. Oh, and if you're going to belittle women, you probably shouldn't date one ever.

Well my parents dated for only 6 months before they got engaged. My mom was 35 and previously unmarried when they met so I think she was kind of in a rush to find someone. So I think that also factored in, but I certainly don't disagree! And yeah there's a vast difference between staying together for the kids and trying to work towards a happier and healthier marriage. People grow and change. Sometimes things happen to us that change us as people and not always for the better, and that's okay. I take it as a compliment to both he and I. Him, because being hit on emphasizes his desirable qualities, and me because it's like a compliment on my choice in men. Neither of us are the jealous type, so as soon as said person walks away, we'll joke about it. It actually kind of turns me on by reminding me why I chose him.
