Married 22 years. Divorced a year now. Will never be married or most likely with anyone again. Don’t trust anyone. Would never co-mingle or co- habitate with anyone. Been on one date, but didn’t click. Realized that I have to accept being content alone and find joy in myself., and helping my kids navigate life. The rules are different now, or were never there in the first place. Sucks, but that’s the way it is.

Same thing is starting to happen for me, but the last year has been dark to say the least. Went to an Iron Maiden concert with my boys, no stupid guilt shit. Stopped off on my way home from a side job and had my favorite Mexican food without anyones “input.” It was great. As Winston Churchill said, “ if you are going through hell, keep going.” Or some shit.

1,6,5,7 Maybe 4 one day. Probably never 3. Definitely not 2. I will never love someone again who doesn't love me and gave up without even trying to address or fix issues, and put our kids in a horrible situation.

Along with a buddy, you're going to need 2 smaller buddies, 2 full sized buddies, a dwarf, an elf, a wizard and maybe some giant eagles. oh, and watch out for the crazy dude in a loincloth who wants the ring for himself. Good luck.

Took it off the minute I got the text that said "you know this just isn't working anymore". Felt painful after that. Wore it faithfully up to that point for 22 years, even when I should have taken it off for work safety reasons. Then me and a buddy went and dropped it in a volcano after a long hike, or maybe that was a movie I saw once.

Yes, even though it was bad. We grieve what may have been as well as what was and what will never be. At least that's what I was told, and it did make sense to look at it that way.

As someone who is still in the somewhat early stages (less than 1 year) of the process, I am in awe of where you seem to be in the recovery. Who can say what will ever trigger us, and don't feel guilty about not being "okay" with something, or distracted about where we feel we should be in the aftermath. Maybe to get to where you are, you had to bury some things that come out later ? Embrace it, look at it, put it back, and keep going I guess ?

To quote the Man Show, " I would rather pack my rectum full of M-80's and squat over a flaming hibachi....."

I am in a similar situation. Thank you for the insight. I am okay with a sale down the road so my kids can also have 2 years to finish school. Doesn't do shit for me now though. The part about 2 months for an apartment I don't want to be in, is exactly the same as well. Hang in there.

Music means so much to me, that its too intense to listen to everyday. Sometimes I go days without it and that's just the way it is. Just another casualty of the whole thing. Right this moment I'm listening to Planet Caravan by Black Sabbath, because its Friday night, and I don't have to work tomorrow. I can't go too far down into my sonic rabbit holes, because I need to stay focused until this is over in the spring. For some reason though, early on after the filing, 2 songs by Neil Diamond, Sol…
