Women rarely hate someone based on character alone. It's usually how that person is a reflection of themselves, or what that person has that they don't, or how they are looked at fondly by others in ways that they aren't. Basically girls are jealous, vindictive cunts who would rather manipulate the world to their needs than change themselves to adapt to the world (breaking news, I know). This example surely qualifies.

if you're not really in contact with him, I don't think it would hurt too much to float a sincere but pointed message his way. It might not change anything in the short term. But as many of us here know, it takes a lot of things piling up for the gut to take back control. Make no mistake, what you say will stick, and he'll be able to draw from it in the future when he decides to stick up for himself.
