With all due respect, I don't see the flaw in my logic. Why shouldn't the hiring rates of blacks match the graduation rates of blacks with computer science degrees? Why shouldn't executive boards have equal gender representation? I'm reluctant to comment on the NBA because I haven't researched it at all. I would be more than happy to read any links you send me.

I don't believe it's a coordinated effort in your examples, and I don't think it's a coordinated effort in the tech industry either. I think the disparity we see is the result of larger social constructs, like a subconscious stigma against women and minorities. I think this move by google will definitely help. I think a lot of people downvoting me feel personally attacked, but that isn't my intent at all. I don't think white men are conspiring against minorities. I also think this title is stron…

The percent of hispanic and black students employed in the tech industry is far lower than the percent graduating with comp sci degrees. Women make up 50% of the population but again are vastly underrepresented on executive boards. Discrimination is still very real.

I think your argument is based on the idea that all races and sexes are on equal footing in the tech industry. I disagree with this premise. Blacks, hispanics, and women are horribly underrepresented in the tech industry. I support Google taking steps to include them because, statistically speaking, they wouldn't be included otherwise
