I think the disparity we see is the result of larger social constructs, like a subconscious stigma against women and minorities. I think this move by google will definitely help. I think a lot of people downvoting me feel personally attacked, but that isn't my intent at all. I don't think white men are conspiring against minorities. I disagree with this premise. Blacks, hispanics, and women are horribly underrepresented in the tech industry.
