That's not what you indicated originally. You said he wanted someone with "his values" and his religion. If he's as you claim now, all the better.

He had to flee to Norway? Not the nearest country without an active war? And probably with a similar culture. No, he wanted somewhere where he'd easily find NSA sex. As far as concealing his past...there's not a lot of women from his culture that will agree to marry him unless he hides what he's doing right now. If he was open to committing to a Norwegian woman and it's just that you two weren't compatible, that would be different.

At least he's respectful. But why live in a foreign country if you think so highly of your own "way of life"? And then conveniently not practicing the inconvenient parts. And later on concealing your past and marrying an unsuspecting girl. There's multiple levels of hypocrisy in that thinking.

Coming from someone raised in that culture...men like that are a scourge.

"Don't worry, he's just the guy women want to make babies. But you're the guy they'll want to raise babies!" Just awful. That's like telling a girl, you may not be the one that he loves and cherishes, but you'll be the one he's always gonna call for a late night hookup.

I think the idea that only the most attractive or most successful men are sought after is not true. "Average man" is not really well defined. I'd say most average men can have some success with women, but not at the level they want. Sometimes this sub conflates below-average with average. Also, when women say personality is important that is actually very true. Personality is more than character, though. You can be a good person and not have a personality that is necessarily attractive.

True, failure can definitely shatter one's morale especially if they don't know where or how to fix their mistakes.

I am that rare Conservative pro-choicer. People just need to conduct themselves with more responsibility overall in who they sleep with and in what circumstances they bring children into the world, and the plan if their contraception fails. Abortion should be a swift decision so it isn't carried out later than necessary, but extremely restricted abortions access can cause that to happen. The laws in the US are very unbalanced, in one state allowing until birth and the other completely banning it…

As a pro-choice woman, I agree with this entirely. In fact, an early abortion may be the most responsible decision in the case that the man doesn't want to be a father. In general people shouldn't be so reckless with who they sleep with, but if they made a mistake a child shouldn't be unfairly brought into the equation.

It is stupid advice. Personality isn't infinitely malleable. Telling someone to "be confident" when they aren't naturally, is like telling a dumb person to "be smart". If you are naturally deficient in something, you have to develop it over time.

To any woman who needs to hear this, if you miss your period or suspect you might be pregnant, Queen Anne's Lace is a natural emmenagogue and abortifacient. It is a natural progesterone blocker (like mifepristone), since an early pregnancy cannot continue without progesterone. It's most effective under 6 weeks, then effectiveness sharply decreases. You don't even need to be pregnant, it will induce your period early if you want that for whatever reason.

Exactly! There's a difference between what we cook up in our minds versus our lived experience.

No I mean you're not an ugly troll who's settling when you're in your 20s. You actually have options but choose to be with one person in particular because you WANT to be, instead of having to be when you pass your prime.

The ideas is to find a worthy guy when you're young and have other options, but still commit to him - don't just go for unattainable men. Because then you might end up settling when you're older and more desperate. I'm of the opinion to never ever settle! Sure keep your expectations in check, but chemistry needs to be there.

I'm not really beautiful but I immediately assume that of any guy insistent on hanging out! There's nothing noteworthy about me either...I'm pretty mediocre so why would a random person want to be my friend? Back when I was single I just played stupid and maybe went along with the "friendship" but now I don't out of respect for my relationship. Unless its a professional contact, I don't really keep male friends or acquaintances.

If you truly love and care for someone that's what you have to do sometimes.

Instead of making him decide once during pregnancy before he's met the baby, he should be on the hook for 2 years, then choose to continue or surrender rights after that point. If there is a paternity doubt then a DNA test should be given.

Yeah I agree...my mom is an extremely competent career woman and engineering professor, very generous with her time and contributions, and she is highly valued by her peers, male and female alike. But I've seen first hand that she struggles to maintain an intimate relationship.

Social morphic fields describe the variety of experiences out there, seemingly paradoxical. We are easily exposed to these alternate realities in the virtual landscape of the internet, not so much in real life.

Ok...and if you don't find a guy who fits your standards who also wants to commit to you, that's on you.

The problem is when anyone settles. It's women who settle and who absolutely must marry or be partnered, that can go down this path either due to personal preference or cultural conditioning. But I'd rather die alone than marry the wrong guy, which I think is the right perspective to have. Any guy that I end up with is someone I'm very attracted to.

You gotta shoot your shot, I think everyone should be understanding of that notion. If you are turned down, accept the loss gracefully and move on.

Evolutionarily speaking, it's in people's interest to cooperate with one another. If we were entirely evil, we wouldn't even exist. However, we have an in-group preference and tend to minimize the plight of others. Once we realize that life isn't a zero-sum game and other people's well-being is as important as our own, then humanity makes progress.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/22 09:01 PM

I believe there is good in all people. Fear, hurt, ignorance, etc. keeps us from our full potential.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/22 07:57 PM

I sort of agree, although I'm not a complete misanthrope. Everyone likes to point the finger at others instead of looking to their own damn self. People's hypocrisy amazes me. Seriously, all these issues people have would be solved with some empathy but apparently that's lame.

It is mean-spirited, in the passive-aggressive sort of way...I encounter it a lot as an autistic person. You ask people in earnest and they misconstrue or giggle at your words.

He's a little curious but is respectful not to pry, so I think maybe to assuage his concerns. He talks to me about other women in his past and even present so idk. We are not just lovers but also friends...idk people have been mean-spirited about this. Oh well.

It is flattering though. I mean, if it wasn't flattering I'd be with the ex and not him, ya know?

Well that's the thing, they all sucked and were losers. I never had incredible sex lol. By felt, I mean emotionally felt.

But why? It sounds like you’re the one who wants the reassurance. Cuz there's this whole thing about women lying about their past, being secretly alpha widowed, etc. It seems like if there's not some sort of moment of radical honesty, those concerns may linger in the back of his mind. I want him to know he's the best in every way, cuz he is.

Do you want to know how much he thinks about the women he’s been with? That's up to him if he'd like to share, whatever he feels comfortable with.

What about the whole honesty thing? I'm a little on the autism spectrum so I don't understand what's appropriate to share or not, it's kinda arbitrary.

I may be in the minority, but I don't care at all. It's only our connection that matters. My man comes with a lot of baggage, like crazy exes that stalk us and he has a high n-count. It's just interesting, that's all. He's very sweet and introverted, not a douchebag or any other stereotype of high n-count men.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
