I am afraid that because of the physical difference, I would be absolutely destroyed if a man choose to duke it out with me. This attitude is the problem, not the men walking down the street. Don't get me wrong, you share that attitude with a large portion of society, it's not just a you thing. It's just not true. Or it certainly doesn't need to be. Take a self defense class, or take up kick boxing or something.

He's not right, but that's the impression many MANY boys and men get from society. The problem is reprogramming your mind to be able to see the opportunities for support that do exist. They're few and far between in institutions, but I'd bet there's many guys and online communities of guys that would be happy to help/listen/be a sound board/give advice/etc.

Exactly. Women have it plenty bad and deserve most the systems that have been developed lately to help them. (things like the deluth model, though, that shit is insidious) The only thing is that men also deserve support. Not that women should lose it.

Don't forget the "but women attempt more often. So they need more help" comments. Thankfully that doesn't seem to be the major theme of the comments and most seem to be taking the idea seriously.

I made a comment on an askreddit thread one time about my mother abusing me and leaving me, she literally moved out, on my last day of high school. She left me with her abusive boyfriend, so essentially I was homeless with no warning or way to care for myself on that level. I ended up joining the navy as my only means of a stable income. The top voted response to my comment was a woman telling me "at least you had the privilege to join the navy. It would have been a lot worse if you weren't a ma…

Sorry, no interest in immigrating to the US, and it's not like I can just tell the navy to move their dockyard. We could live pretty easily on just my wife's teacher salary anyway. So I doubt there would be much advantage.

I'm guessing you've never been in the military? The majority of jobs in the military aren't front line infantry, they're support roles. Technicians, cooks, supply, etc. And loads of those jobs aren't in the Army. Serving in the Navy or Air Force is going to be vastly different from than the Army. I wouldn't say the military is a way to make boys into men or anything ridiculous. But it can be a good career that doesn't include injury, death, and PTSD. And does include excellent job security, pay …

In the past, before feminism, it wasn't men vs women. It was men and women usually within the family structure vs crippleing poverty. Men werent oppressed by women and women werent oppressed by men. Both were oppressed by nature and had to adapt to what each could do. And then by class.

#allmen; doesn't that mean that all men need to step up and help solve this problem? Meaning anyone posting that is asking all men to step in, right? Am I understanding that? The idea that people are willing to have the most sensitive part of a males body cut off, removing with it the functionality of the foreskin and vastly reducing the pleasure of sex, at birth and without anything for the pain, in the hopes that it makes the infant's penis more desirable is just flat out insanity. Imagine if I said I had my infant girl get breast implants so that she'd be more desirable. But, oh, you know, infants don't feel pain, so it's better this way. WTF?

There's nothing wrong with a good work life balance. The patriarchy doesn't actually make them choose anything. Women are individuals with the right and ability to make their own decisions, but they blame everything on the boogie man patriarchy. A classroom isn't a democracy, and it's not a debate. It doesn't matter how wrong you're teacher is, they are the dictator and you're just there to regurgitate what they say and their opinions. You're only going to frustrate and alienate yourself by attempting this.

This. I think the OP say a lot more about women's privilege vs men's lack there of when women can't imagine living like men often do. This one pisses me off the most. It makes women feel weak, and demonizes men. Meanwhile, we're all made of the same stuff. Muscle doesn't stop skin from getting cut or bruised, or bones from getting broken. And when you introduce tools/weapons into the equation, their size makes no difference. Maybe on average a woman can't hit as hard as a man with an empty fist, pick up a frying pan and bash someone in the head with it though and it really doesn't matter.

Halifax, Nova Scotia. The local police website used to list the rates of domestic violence victims at 56% women and 44% men, but it's since been removed so I don't have a decent source. There's two women and children shelters in the area, the only place a man could take his kids if they needed to get out of an abusive home would be a homeless shelter.

I'm really convinced that a lot of feminists see women as lesser than men in a lot of ways - which seems utterly moronic. They 100% do. It's what allows the propagation of the victim mentality and the constant fear that they're missing out on all of the privileges men get.

Just make sure you're looking at as many sides to an issue as possible. There's plenty of good posts here, but there's also a lot of posts that vilify women and feminism. Women and feminism are both good things in the world. We need to stop trying to fix gender roll issues by trying to look at only one side, just like we claim feminists need to stop doing the same. Well, I'm only drawing from my own experience, so take this for what it's worth. I'd say there is more negative male role models now than in the past. In the past most media depicted the husband as a protagonist and allay to the wife. Now, the husband is all too often depicted as a hapless buffoon and antagonist to the wife. Combined with more positive female role models (a good thing overall) it means fewer positive male role models and greater negative male role models.

is an advantage (how great is debatable) for a boy growing up to be able to see public, powerful men who he can model himself on, particularly if they are positive examples. Any religion that uses fear, obligation, and guilt to manipulate people to doing what the religious leaders want is viewed as abusive by some people. The view is that people should go into a situation like that with full facilities, meaning being an adult, so they have the ability to view and react to those manipulations with objectivity.

Cleaning it initially can be tricky as infant foreskin is tighter, and doesn't normally want to roll down the whole way past the head, but you can get soapy water, and a q-tip to make sure it's clean. For the love of God don't do that. An infants foreskin is fused to their glands. Pulling it back would be excruciating. The correct way to wash an infants penis is to wash it like a finger.

If I said I wanted to get my infant daughter breast implants so she would be more attractive would that be concerning?

The other person is 100% right. But in the name of trying to get the word out I'll say my take on it. I have an intact penis and two boys with intact penises. As babies you wash it like you would a finger. Not only do you not have to pull back the foreskin, pulling it back would be excruciating to the child. As they grow into toddlers and become more independent you just teach them to pull it back to their comfort level and wash the area until the can do the job independently. There's no special…

Yes. Both because they have a lot of the nerve endings, and because the foreskin acts as a protective layer preventing the glands from becoming desensitized from rubbing on clothes all the time. Then there's the natural lubricating effect of foreskin allowing sex/masterbation without lube. Another side benefit of not being cut is not having a wound trying to heal inside a diaper when your immune system isn't well formed to deal with infection. Also, when a baby is born the foreskin is attached t…

Also, throwing that at me as a means to minimize and trivialize the pain I've been through, is pretty fucking toxic. You say you don't desire to hurt people, but actions speak louder than words.

For centuries western culture has been permeated by the idea that humans are selfish creatures. What the hell are these people smoking? Yeah, there's plenty of selfish people, but the vast majority of people are generous. We never would have been able to create societies otherwise.

That's actually very similar to a point I made to her. If I'm taking a part an engine I don't use my fingers, I use a wrench. If I'm showing our kids how to do that, I get them a longer wrench because they don't have the strength I do. But they can still do it, they just need a tool fit to purpose. It's similar for hurting someone. My strength might make it so I don't need a tool, and maybe she does, but that doesn't mean she can't damage my flesh or break my bones. It just takes a tool fit to p…

The real issue of feminism is that they convince women that they are, essentially, disabled. My wife, who is generally a great person, honestly believes she is unable to hurt me physically. I don't get it. I'm made of the same flesh and bone as she is, yet in her eyes I'm some kind of indestructible being and, in a physical fight, she's a helpless flower.

This would imply that a woman, at some point in history, made an error by naming the movement an incorrect or not politically correct term. That simply cannot be, women are perfect in every way imaginable. Hell, even feminism itself is perfect as it includes men's rights. Thus, the name will never change. /s <---just in case.

I loved how even though there was only one white dude in the movie, everything would have crumbled if he wasn't able to save the day. And in Wonder Woman she needed true love^^TM to be able to win. Marvel can't write a diverse or gender neutral story to save their lives.

The entirety of feminism today wrapped up in a few short sentences. Bravo, good sir. Bravo. The worst part of it all though, is the damage that damsel in distress mindset does to girls and women. A lot of them do feel powerless despite the crushing amounts of power they hold. I think we would do well if we could just find a way to stop this damn bull shit message and just show women how much power they hold.

This is why training exists. (Source: 21 years in the Canadian Navy). We don't have any hazing rituals, yet we still manage to build those bonds and trust through training. We start training as individuals, then departments, next is single ship at various levels, and then multi ship. Along the way we learn how each other works, how their brain works, when they need help from their team and what they're capable of on their own. My own little world on my present ship has developed our own way of d…

When women behave in ways that don’t fit their gender stereotype — for example, by being assertive — they are viewed as less likable and ultimately less hirable. In what world? Women can do anything they want and there will be a parade of women/feminists to congratulate her. From being a stay at-home mom to front line infantry to trades. As for being assertive; for the love of all that is holy please be assertive. No one likes a fucking door mat except abusers. Just learn the difference between …

This is one time I agree with the women. For women to lose a breast is a much different thing, psychologically, than for a man to lose a breast. There's gonna be discussions about a lot of intimate topics that don't relate to us at all, and I can see why women would want to keep that private. To a guy, breast cancer is no different than any other type of cancer. It's awful, of course. But I can understand why women wouldn't want him in a breast cancer group. I've also had shit bosses that micromanaged everything and didn't give a shit about the people, which made it much harder to take care of the gear. My present boss is outstanding. Its shitty behavior, but I have a hard time calling it rape. To me, when I read the word rape I expect the victim to have been physically forced. Abuse of power, sexual harassment, coercion... There's likely a lot of things it could be called that would seem more accurate to me. All that said, the end result is that he used his power to gain sex from unwilling people, and for that he should be punished. Bouchard’s controversial tweet on Tuesday said: “Heterosexual relationships are really violent. In addition, the vast majority of those relationships are based on religion. Can you imagine if a bad day for us was being sexually harassed. - Essentially being asked to have sex with someone we don't find attractive. - A good day for a man is when we aren't accused of being a pedophile. Being sexually harassed would be a huge step up for many of us.

I think even bigger than that is how men are villain-ized just for being men. We don't have to form a group, j>st simply exist with a penis and people treat us like we're the lowest and worst form of life.

They must be unlocking the boot loader, rooting the phone, and installing it as a system file. This puts the. apk file in a different partition which isn't affected by a factory reset. But it's not terribly difficult to then remove it. I doubt they leave the phone with an unlocked bootloader, but if they can do it, so can you. Just unlock, root, and uninstall the application.

I've never had the balls to say it, but I've always wanted to respond to that statement with "I think women look better without a clitoris." and watch their reaction. And once they fully embrace their anger inform them they I don't believe that, but they just said essentially the same thing to me, but they do believe it. Of course they'd come back with something about how genital mutilation on a girl is so much worse, that it's meant to remove sexual pleasure, and leads to death. Both of which a…

Honestly, I've already seen a couple of medical videos on the subject that depicted the cruel act completely. It's scaring to the viewer and a disgusting and barbaric tradition. The first step is to forcefully remove the foreskin from the glans, which would be similar to ripping the baby's fingernails off. Considering the number of nerve endings in each, they'd likely have to rip all of the fingernails off at once to simulate the amount of pain that would cause. Next they flay the foreskin off. …

One thing that comes to mind is to simply look at me/us and see a person first instead of a pedophile or a rapist. Seeing/hearing women assume that about me doesn't necessarily make me feel unsafe, but it sure as hell is demoralizing and insulting. The amount of times I've seen a playground empty because I showed up with my kids was more than enough to communicate how women see me.

A high value woman is a woman who doesn't revolve her life around men. She has her own career, hobbies, and a great social life that fulfills her emotional needs, Ok, that actually sounds really good. The last thing I'd want is to be someone's crutch. I already have two kids, I don't need a third. so if she does welcome a man in her life, he better be amazing. A high value woman also doesn't romanticize men's true nature, therefore she's cautious around them and wants them to prove themselves to…

If anyone gives you shade for being who you are, they don't belong here.
