The post above about psychological comfort is likely correct. Don’t fret that. But, yes, Not to be paranoid, but just for safety, record everything. Even if you’re just voice recording while it’s in your pocket. Things can start out amicable, but go south really quickly. And if you didn’t have that recording when it matters, you can’t get it after the fact if you ever need it. For some recording may be paranoid, but the safety of it can take a lot of weight off your shoulders

This reads as if I wrote it myself. I am 15 months after the separation and 4 months post divorce. I literally talked to her every single day on my drives home from work, where I rushed home to see her face after 29 years together. Even a couple months after the separation, I still delusional-y thought of her as my lifelong best friend. The shock of it all it’s still there all this time later, as if it just happened yesterday. Hi thanks. Yes I see this written a lot, but is not accurate. I do love her and do not want to stop living together. She has not physically cheated on me, I’m just emotionally and only started dating him the immediate week after she split with me - In her mind some honorable way of waiting until she made the decision to leave me. We are still quite cordial and friendly, which is what makes the language you wrote above heart because it is not quite accurate at all and I don’t want to tell the chi…

That United front part is what I both understand and I don’t. I’m going to have a very hard time sitting there with her talking to them, parroting that this is something that we both want. When #1 I don’t want it at all, and #2 knowing she is dating someone, I do not want to lie to them ever. Even though I understand, and from your comment, that everybody is suggesting that I do lie for their sake that their mom and I jointly agreed to the separation. I’m very conflicted on this last point.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
