1	Most people who complain about shallow people would be just as shallow and picky if they had the chance Upto a certain extent, we are all shallow, in varying degrees. Especially if we get jealous about someone else's material and love life success, we try to downplay it with some variation of "Money is not that important. Having a pretty/handsome spouse is not that important". IMO, we become more frustrated about our own lack of success and express our anger against us through lashing out at someone else's success.
