Additional comment on what you wrote after reading it again; I did focus far too much on my outcome today rather than just the actual conversation, I think I've successfully reminded myself not to be so mechanical. It's hard when you use MM to relearn, it's too logical.

Does this mean you basically need to ask her a question about herself, let her answer and then convert something she said into a story to generate the feeling of rapport? (Basically I was always under the impression asking too many questions didn't go so well.)

Thanks, there's a lot of good advice there that I'll definitely use. With regards negs, do you think I used them too early on? I also made the fundamental mistake of using them on a 7 today who was pretty unconfident it turned out, she was so quiet. Basically I ruined her self esteem even more and only realised my mistake about an hour later.

Can you go straight into rapport building as soon as you finish the opener or is there a bridge in between? Also would a rapport building story also definitely need to be a DHV?

Thanks. Although I like Alex Coulson I can't help but think he jump cuts his videos so you never see 100% of the interaction, which can be slightly irritating.

I'm pretty good looking and have a good smile but I think you're right in regards to it being forced; because it was so canned I looked like I was performing rather than behaving naturally - they were entertained but not convinced. Can you give me an example of what is exciting in comparison to my unexciting tattoo story? (Coulson said it was good because it was "controversial".) Edit: in addition should the first story after the opener be a DHV story?

Thanks for the advice and kinds words.
