I don't disagree that they are good friends, and that neither of them feel this was abnormal behavior. The only point I'm trying to make is if you take two random individuals, a man and a woman, and put the man in the role that Kathy Griffin played in this scenario, you will find people who will be very offended. My intention is to point out the inequality in reactions that it would generate.

It's not the comic I have a problem with, it's the societal reaction to it being conditional on the gender of the individuals involved. If a male comic and a female comic can both do this, then no problem, however I think you'll find very few (if any) male comics who would even consider this tactic.

Yes - that was my point. I should have clarified that was I was suggesting if the gender roles were reversed, this would make national news.

I don't believe he is saying women are smarter, per se, than men. In fact, if anything, most of what he says is coached and rehearsed to increase his voter base.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
