I guess. I'm having trouble understanding the mentality of anyone who'd say "fuck you" to the father and give a child up for adoption anyway.

This is one fucked up situation. The poor father :( I hope he gets custody of his daughter soon.

Dress blues are the snazziest military uniforms out there, hands down. Can't say I'm surprised.

Head over to /r/childfree sometime. Plenty of bullshit sterilization hoops for all.

You might be thinking of Postpartum Psychosis or Postpartum Depression. It's hormonal, and pretty scary shit. A friend's wife went through PPP (diagnosed) and could not be left alone or left in charge of their baby at all for months. Scary scary shit, they went through hell for a few months.

Whenever that dichotomy happens IRL, people usually disparage the "hot wife" as being a gold digger. "Oh she's only with him for his money." See: this thread today.

OP is in Canada, not the US. And I'd agree that it should be the same in both situations - it's either ok to charge by gender for higher costs or it isn't.

Math doesn't discriminate. Numbers are numbers.

Not really. That rate is based on the fact that as a male under 25, you are statistically more likely to have an accident than a woman of the same age or a man over 25. That ain't bias, that's math.

You know, I'm not normally one to advocate lying in a relationship for any reason, but in this case? Do it. She ended your relationship the minute she broke your trust and got pregnant without your consent. Play whatever role you have to, get through this mess, then leave her and never look back.

That was going to be my comment too.

This man speaks the truth. Getting married to convince someone to move is a bad, bad idea, not to mention dropping out of school (I assume college?). If the relationship is worth the potential setbacks of marriage, it will wait until she graduates with a degree, and has a better chance of contributing as an equal.

It's the Daily Fail. What did you expect in the comments, an educated, philosophical debate?

I don't particularly hate kids, but I don't care to be around them, nor would I date someone with kids. In a similar vein, I think a lot of people procreate when they aren't up to the responsibility. But even for someone like me, the rhetoric got to be way too much. Not every parent is a hateful breeder out to ruin your life.

I had this same issue back when I started frequenting childfree boards. So many posts that were made to fan the flames of anger, it led to me being a much angrier person in general. I started LOOKING for reasons to be offended by people who didn't share my choices. After a bit of this, I took a long hard look around me and realised that the only one responsible for my anger was me. I stopped reading the stories that were told just to piss people off. I do the same thing on any forum/subreddit no…

The tide's turning a bit on that front. Porn stars like James Deen and Manuel Ferrara are now considered up there with the Bobbi Starrs of the world. It's not as common, but it's coming (pardon the pun).

Generally, men being abused by women would fall into a "fetish" category, so out of the ordinary. Women being slapped around, choking on cocks, etc is considered "the norm" in porn. Having said that, i think this is a pile of horse shit dressed up in a "protect the women and children" package. As long as everyone's a consenting adult, it's none of your business who fucks whom on camera, nor is it anyone's business if you want to watch it.

Not only that, but they got a DNA test and everyone thought it was his until the kid got older, and as soon as they found out, child support was suspended. Sensationalizing is putting it mildly. I feel bad for him for what he's invested in this kid emotionally, he obviously loves her, but they didn't set out to screw him.

As he says in the article: All choices have a cost. My architectural skills have a shelf life, and it's likely that I am damaging my prospects for future employment. This is what makes me cringe. Let's assume they beat the average and don't get divorced, which would have disastrous consequences for someone who can't find a job. What happens if his SO loses her job? What if she gets a life threatening illness, or is hit by a car and dies? What's he going to do next? I don't understand the mentali…

You know what, I'll never marry. It's not for me, I have zero interests in having kids or a spouse. But when you throw in shit like this: If a man insists that his wife honor the conjugal requirements of the marriage contract, he can and will be accused of sexual abuse, sexual assault or rape. anything you say loses all credibility. "insists that his wife honor the conjugal requirements of the marriage contract"? Are you fucking SERIOUS? If you force someone to have sex, it's rape and you should…

True. I've found an SO that matches me in ambition and life goals, but it took sifting through a lot of bullshit to find him.

Sadly true, and it makes me crazy. I don't understand how anyone can throw away their independence by making themselves dependent on someone else for their financial security. It's mind boggling.

No one should be dependent on someone else, period. Shit happens sometimes, people lose their jobs, get sick, whatever, but if you're a healthy adult who's out of school, you have no excuse to be financially dependent on someone else for extended periods of time.

If you take the male/female talk out of it, it's good advice for all genders and sexual orientations. We should all be selective in choosing our partners. If you're looking for a relationship, you deserve to be with someone who treats you with respect, believes you're worth investing in (as in time, not money), and should give the same in return.

Sadly, true. And at 21, he's even more susceptible to it.

I think it depends - there are cases that require surgical intervention, but not to the point of circumcision. And as I posted over there, does he REALLY want to be with someone so superficial that they're going to be uptight about a bit of skin on his penis?

However, I would assume that most men who were looking to start a family would get married first right? Not in this day and age. Marriage is becoming more of an archaic tradition, especially in western societies.

I'm a bit unclear of what you're trying to say here. There's been a definite rise in the number of unmarried couples having (planned) children, with no intention of ever marrying. Those kids aren't unwanted, and I doubt that the father is staying merely to avoid child support laws. Are those families counted in the 40%, or is it strictly single-parent households?
/r/MensRights05/02/13 08:05 PM

Even with contraceptive choices and abortion legalized, the rate shot up to over 40% today. Is this a rise in single parent households, or a rise in the number of unmarried couples having kids?

Using trickery to make anyone a parent is disgusting. Anyone who practices birth control sabotage is a repulsive human being, whatever gender they identify as.

Or just, you know, don't read anything by Cosmo. The only reason to ever open that pile of trash is to make fun of it. My opinion of anyone who actually buys it and takes it seriously drops a few notches.

This might, MIGHT be ok if it was something along the lines of "are women obligated to put out after you do X?". Otherwise... meh. It's so juvenile.

This is a side note but I wish we (and apparently they) would put less of an emphasis on job type when assessing a persons worth. Besides "blue collar" doesn't mean poor. A lot of blue collar workers do just fine, especially since they don't have crippling student loans and get an extra 4-8 years of work at their prime that white collar workers may miss out on. This isn't just a dating problem, this is a societal problem. Jobs like plumbing, construction, janitorial services, etc are seen as "lo…
