The kid will likely be the focus of the blame, if he loses it. You're right in that it shouldn't be blamed, but it will be blamed. People that lose it generally aren't too rational.
Only way to deal with bullies is to fight back. It was a quarter century ago (holy fuck I'm getting old) when I had to deal with the flipped version of this. Big (and not in the fat way) girl picking on a scrawny little boy (me). Hit back eventually, the entire system was stacked against me. Fortunately my mother went nuclear diplomacy at the school, justice was eventually meted out correctly. Not sure how it is today though for kids.
Ugh. If it's a situation that requires me to hit someone, I'm going to hit them, regardless of if they're male, female, trans or other. Equal rights and responsibilities means equal consequences.
No person, regardless of sex, should be going to prison (for life, like murder!) for having sex with another person. Prison is for things that cause people harm. It's literally what he wrote, no straw man at all.
