there's a scene in the beginning where he talks to the father and lies and the father says "you are a bad liar your eye twitches when you lie" and in the church scene (header image) the father realises he was telling the truth because his eye doesn't twitch.

wow a reply to 4 months old post (new record) eye twitching was chekhov's gun trope if I recall correctly they show the dog running away(in the evening). I knew then, the dog will be dead soon.

SPOILERS (not everybody has seen the film) I'm talking about the scene where she is beeing questioned by the "expert" and her kindergarden teacher. matter of fact she says a couple of times in the movie that she lied not just at the end, but no adult believes her. edit: not exactly how I remembered it, but is still the adult who put words in her mouth to "prove he did it" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgRanfDqvzA

one of my favorite movies. I only noticed two tropes in the movie Spoiler
/r/MensRights04/01/15 05:14 PM

why? it was the adults who pushed on forward with the allegations, even after the girl admitted to the lie. edit: sadly like it's often in real life

that's right. since 1 July 2011 there is no more mandatory military service or alternative civilian service (if you had moral scruples). my brother did his military service in 1999, I did my alternative civilian service in 2004. the "funny" part is, if a war were to brake out in germany (I know it's unlikely) we both can be drafted and he would have to fight and I would have to work in the millitary kitchen or something. additional info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conscription_in_Germany

you should go and get one, and when they want to charge you 50p say: "whoah whoah whoah, I'm a woman you sexist pigs. just because I look male doesn't make me one on the inside."

the source is: The American Academy of Pediatrics Task Force on Circumcision "Technical Report" (2012) after a quick google search I found this: Cultural bias in the AAP's 2012 Technical Report and Policy Statement on male circumcision. what a big surprise (the full pdf http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/early/2013/03/12/peds.2012-2896.full.pdf )

70% of the german public is against circumcision. it's the german government which generally allows/tolerates circumcision, I guess out of fear of sounding/being anti semitic. http://www.thelocal.de/national/20121126-46383.html

exactly. there's video out there where she reads those "threats" and laughs/smiles. no person who fears for his life/takes threats serious would do that.
