Truth be said it definitely built character (Friedrich Nietzsche stated, “Out of life's school of war—what doesn't kill me, makes me stronger.”). I am grateful that my kids kept me sane throughout this whole ordeal. Wouldn't have traded it for anything else and am so looking forward to my older two graduating (eldest son with a masters and the middle guy with bachelors) this coming May. Keep on trudging and NEVER give up the good fight. Good luck with everything.

Sorry to hear that. It sure is messed up but stay strong and remember, this too shall pass. May justice be rendered quickly.

Totally get your situation. Had a similar thing happen to me in the downturn of 2008 when an attic conversion was being done (two bedrooms with a full sized bathroom was added along with complete kitchen makeover). The wife had never liked the house till that point and after falsely accusing me of child endangerment, she suddenly wanted to move in to the newly spruced up place after a double whammy of getting a restraining order in place and serving me with divorce papers. Had to jump through ho…

Just wanted to quickly share that what really helped me move forward was reading "Whole again" by Jackson Mackenzie and "No more Mr. Nice guy" by Dr. Robert Glover. Take care.

Congratulations !!!!! Glad that you stayed strong throughout enduring this madness. I am not a professional psychologist, but from what you have mentioned, it appears that she probably had some sort of a personal disorder. Look up NPD and/or BPD etc. to find some sort of answer to the erratic behavior. Therapy for you will help oodles. Put it all behind you and soldier on. Take care and wish you all the very best for the future. Cheers.

Happiness is key to overcoming many of the drawbacks that was created and to scale any walls that we ourselves have erected. Took me a while to realize that my late wife with BPD caused me oodles of anxiety since having to walk on eggshells through out our relationship of three decades. After dealing with a whole list of ailments out of which few required surgeries, a very kind doctor who was only doing the scans on me half way across the globe sat me down and had a very open chat. She surmised …

Sorry you are facing this issue. She may probably have an undiagnosed personality disorder of some sort which only professionals can diagnose. I would urge you to definitely report what she said to any agency that is/was involved during divorce proceedings because it needs to go on record since you have a kid together and then go forward on their recommendations. Take care and wish you all the best.

Glad you are seeing it for the reality that it actually is. Sadly some of us don't see through the facade and fall into the trap, getting stuck with the "enabler" syndrome thinking we can help them. Unfortunate reality is that there is no fixing them. Avoid physical intimacy if she initiates any love bombing and run for the hills. By all means, do NOT get her pregnant (since that is one of their main tools in the bag of tricks and do watch out for other underhand techniques that are usually depl…

As another poster said, head over to r/BPDlovedones sub for a perspective that will give you some sort of an idea. Try to get a mental health expert's opinion because from your post it does seem that she probably has some sort of a "personality disorder" which is a tough thing to have. While they have my sympathies, there is nothing one can do except walk away since there is no known cure at this time and DBT (dialectical behaviour therapy) is only about 70% effective plus it takes over a decade…

Thought I was in love but it was for all the wrong reasons as evident later on. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/social-instincts/202303/3-signs-your-relationship-is-based-on-loneliness-not-love We had kids together and hence voluntarily stayed in the marriage even though we reached the steps of family court twice when she initiated divorce both times in 2008 & 2010. For a change I was going to initiate the divorce proceedings this year but she passed in her sleep last year due to hyperte…

Look up BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) because she seems to be more of the Cluster B type. They blow hot and cold with the discard and hoover attempts, so stay very alert and get everything on record. Wish you all the very best.

At 25 I was cruising happily with a great job making a lot of money and living out of a suitcase because of travelling all the time. My then sweetheart who eventually became my wife asked as to where I saw myself five years down the road. Told her that I was very content doing the very same stuff and pretty soon she convinced me of changing my field and relocating with her yada yada. Borrowed her dreams and found myself half way across the globe restarting from scratch. Not the fondest memories …

Well, my case may be slightly different because the wife had BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) and wanted out of our marriage many times. Reached the court house steps twice for divorce initiated by her but I pulled back from the brink for the sake my young kids. The feminist co-workers encouraged her to leave me and find better men who could serve her needs better, so she would often tell me to leave her alone and take the kids along to go with whoever I wanted. Was walking on eggshells thr…
