Well, glad I threw it out there. Clearly I'm out of my league as far as how much I know about this stuff. Sadly, most everybody else who gets a kid or into marriage is even less informed than I am.

I went through the child support calculator, and I thought to myself, I could raise a kid with a third of that money. If I had a kid, he'd live in my place, so no rent increase. Yes, he'd need clothes, but that's cheap. Food? Well by only increasing my food budget a small amount, the kid is eating. I don't get it, why does child support for a non-custodial parent cost approximately a mortgage??!?

but a pre-nup or incorporating won't be enough to protect yourself Well shit. I'm not getting married until I'm making waay more money then. In other words, I literally can't afford to "fuck around" right now.

My mom was really upset when my dad wanted to buy her an expensive ring. She'd rather he save it for the down-payment on their first house together.

Yeah, when I thew back that "dick" was so prevalent, it shut down that thread of the conversation.

I was at a dinner conversation and a girl was complaining to me and two of my guy friends about how women get all the derogatory terms, like pussy and cunt. I then rebutted that dick and prick are prevalent as well. Then the conversation branched out into other issues about the treatment of females in our society.

I think wikipedia is not taken seriously enough. Most of their loss of credibility is simply the idea that it can be tampered with. But it's more accurate that an encyclopedia, and you can go to all the footnotes. Having said that, yeah, you don't want to go around saying you got your info from wikipedia.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
