Yeah, I agree, but those subreddits are originally for what you requested, people can just be horrible sometimes.

There are several. You have /r/rateme, /r/malefashionadvice and /r/malehairadvice to name a few. :)

This is where the "always assume attraction" comes into play, though I have trouble following it myself.

Sounds like she's into you, dude. Normally, if you think a girl is giving you signals like that, she is. She tried talking to you, eating with you and responds positively to you smiling to her. Try asking if she wants to see the new Deadpool movie or something (I know it's Marvel, but still in the same genre and pretty good).

Usually it isn't the hobby that's the problem, it's the way you play it off. If you can be super confident and brag about you being into all the superhero-comics by marvel, the girl will love it and think you're interesting. If you're shy and awkwardly asks her if she wants to look at your comic book collection she'll just think you're some guy who only sits in and read comic books. Check this video out, where he starts talking about being a 100 level warlock or something on World of Warcraft, t…

This. It is actually possible that she likes you, you know. When a girl says you're cute it may be that she actually thinks that you are cute, you know. It's definitely not a bad thing that she gives you compliments, I'd rather take it as an invitation to make a move.

I agree. To which extent should one concentrate on being a jerk? I've read elsewhere (don't remember the source) that one should vary between being a jerk and saying no, and actually doing a favor and being nice. These mixed signals were supposed to intrigue the girl and get her attention.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
