I also find it strange that the BSJ's report has such a high response rate compared to every other telephone/in-person-conducted study on rape/sexual violence I've seen. 1	Feminists attack interesting post about rape statistics on Imgur Prison rape in the United States is a serious problem. I don't doubt that the claims are true. Still, it is an isolated phenomenon, and should be treated as such. Pitting female rape outside of prison against male rape inside prison is disrespectful to victims of both. There's no need to stretch the numbers. It's true that sexual violence against men needs to be recognized. I have read a lot of statistics on rape. I know for instance that men generally suffer from more severe post-traumatic stress following a rape than women. What I'm saying is that women are sexually assaulted more often than men. A lot more often. I know men are less likely to report sexual assault than women, but you have to keep in mind that very few women report sexual assault to begin with. That's why the page is like that.
