What are your thoughts on dating someone younger? I’m 24 and a 19yo guy has been approaching me. He’s very clever, smart and somewhat mature for his age. And a very old fashioned guy. But my fear about doing something is that we have a 5 years age gap, which is a lot considering our current life stages. Plus, I’m just used to date older guys (+4-8 years) Has anyone dated a younger guy here?

Downvote you? Lol I’m the one being downvoted 😂 I’m not on BC but I always buy my own condoms and bring them just in case. But yeah your point of view is very fair. Thanks for sharing it here.

I think that we get impressed by this kind of behaviors because we’re taught to expect almost nothing good from men at all. At least in my case. My mom is like that. My dad is not the greatest human being on earth. And my mom justifies him saying things like “Oh but he has been a great dad to you, he buys you food” oh wow, being a distant father and not caring about my personal life isn’t more important that buy bread for me apparently 🤷🏻‍♀️ Personally I do split the cost of a morning pill becau…

Damn. I'm not feminine overall, like, I usually dress like a tomboy and I don't wear makeup (due to my sensitive skin), am I cool girl? I'm having serious doubts now xD

I’ll probably buy me some cheesecake and I’m gonna read Little Women in a park. That’s my plan for V-Day

What is a cool girl exactly?

I wouldn't call it a situationship since we're not exclusive, I've seen other people in the meantime. He wanted a relationship and I didn't, but he didn't want to stop being friends and here we are. I don't think he's using me due to his lack of interest in sex, and it feels overall as a normal friendship, although it's a bit romantic for some reason. I'm not focused either interested right now in relationships so I'll enjoy till it lasts.

This is weird, but I’ve been “casually seeing” someone since June last year. We knew that we’re not compatible for a relationship but we kept going on “dates” for some reason: to eat, to the movies, to the theatre, etc. He’s really not that interested in sex, in 8 months maybe we’ve had sex like two times. But for some reason he asked me if I was available this Friday for Valentine’s Day. I don’t know why but I’d like to spend that day with someone, but for some reason I feel it’s weird.

Hey girls, what’s your experience with FWB? I have a coworker who’s 19 and I feel that he likes me. I’m 23 and I don’t see him as boyfriend material, but we have good chemistry and I think he’s very cute. How do you start a FWB thing? I’m so confused 😂

I want to clarify some things: We live in Venezuela, so here it’s very uncommon to have a PhD when you’re 26. Here the average people graduate from undergrad around 24-26 and not everyone goes to graduate school. Here people are not used to being bilingual, some people can’t speak English, not to even mention speaking two other languages. She’s not in STEM and here you can’t do a PhD if you don’t do a masters first. So these things already make her a freak here. She thinks that her studies and a…

She won a scholarship to study her PhD in Germany. 100% tuition free and she got her living expenses paid as well

I mean I said it in a ridiculous way to make it funny, but she has said that when they talk and the man ask her about herself and she talks about her traveling to study for her PhD and bla bla bla and if they ask about what she knows and does, she just say it. It doesn’t happen strictly as “they ask for the check” but she rarely gets a second date because she says that they get uncomfortable while talking about jobs and career. That’s what I meant.

Someone wrote me through chat about this post, saying this: “They freak out because nobody wants to take in your student debt, fuckin dummy” I’m sorry to disappoint you all, but I’m not located in the US and there are countries where you can get a good quality education for a minimal price and you won’t go in debt forever. Also my friend was in scholarship. And I’m pretty sure that she can deal with her own debts anyway.

I think it depends on the context. I live in a country with a huge economic crisis, everyone is broke or struggling with money but that won’t stop people from dating each other. Not everything is about money tho.

This happened with my ex. He ghosted me pretty badly and the first thing that I thought when it happened was “I can’t count on this guy” and thank god we didn’t even had the chance to have condomless sex because if something happened that I’d have to go through that pregnancy all alone.

Same. My ex contacted me and we were “trying to make things work again” and I found out that he was on Tinder and then he got angry at me because I went out on a date with someone new. Wtf.

I've had guys who don't want anything serious with me because I'm on a tight/low budget right now. So it's ok with women to be like this but if you want a guy with money now you're materialistic? lmao

I really don't get why men use LinkedIn as a dating app. That's really sick. Really.

My dad only paid for my school and sometimes took me out to have ice-cream and for many people, that's enough reason for him to be considered an extraordinary dad lol.

Sleepless in Seattle technically breaks the woman as a pursuer rule too but honestly I would pursue Tom Hanks at that age if I could haha

I think maybe you just have to wait and see how things go. The 90 days thing I’d see it more as and advice rather than a rule that you have to follow strictly. But that’s me 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyway, relax a bit and don’t over think it.

I think the “men must pay for all rule” and the “no sex for 3 months” are a little over the top. But mostly I agree, this sub is pretty good. My ex was really insecure about me having more money tho. There were a couple of times where I paid for our dates and his reaction was ghosting me because he was uncomfortable lol.

I understood "doesn't shower with me" and I was like of course leave him and go find someone who wants to take showers with you xD

Thank you, dear Strategy Coach. I know that I should work on myself. It’s just that I feel that there’s something missing in me and that’s why men don’t see me as a LTR option. I’ve had this feeling since forever but now I know that I have to deal with it while focusing on me. Thank you so much for your comment.

Why do you think that HVM go to meetups about shared interests and hobbies? (Just curious)

I think that all of this "watch a movie" and "Netflix and chill" things are a super lame excuse to bring sex to the table. If you're going to have sex is because there's a spark in the moment, not because he wants you to "chill".

Thank you I guess. The poor guy has depression and anxiety and is so confused about his life in general. I founf him the therapist but then I couldn't be his confident. Like, he broke up with me because "he wasn't ready for a relationship" but I'm just not going to wait around for him. Probably he'll find someone else in the meantime and I'm going to look like a clown.

This reminds me that I looked up a therapist for my ex. By myself. I almost booked him the first session. And he wanted me to be with him in his “emotional journey” oh god how stupid was I.

Lol. Now I think that my ex was a soft boy. But he had a lot of performance anxiety and used to avoid sex. Would that still make him a soft boy?

I know fuckboy is the normal word for this, but what about "soft boys"? I've heard that but idk the real meaning.

I'm sorry that this happened to you. I must guess I'm very lucky. My male best friend is a fuckboy overall but with me, he's really a loyal brother. Like, I know I can count on him on emergencies and stuff. But it's just like that, a brother-sister relationship. There have been situations where he could have taken advantage of me and he didn't so, I guess those types of guys do exist.

It depends. I‘m not very attractive at all, and my male BFF is like my brother. I’m sure 100% he‘s not into me lol. Once he even told me that he thought I was asexual. Same as well with other male friends. If they see you as another guy, they probably won’t fuck you.
