So you just texted her without her approaching you? You should have made that approach because you wouldn't have this problem if you did. But would I would say is "Yeah this is honeybadger. I saw you at that party and was on my way to talk to you, but my friend was totally tanked and was making an ass of himself so I had to get him home."

I think the best way to go about this is turn it into a game with your friends/wingman. Find out who gets the best rejection of the night and the next time you're out, everyone has to pitch in for the "winners" lunch or drinks.

I don't think you ask for a second chance. If it's been a few years, you need to focus on showing her how much you've improved. You need to reignite the feelings and attraction she had for you. Asking for a second chance will not work well for you. Try to remember the things you did that made her attracted to you. Do this and things could work. That's pretty much all you can do. I totally agree. I see a lot of attractive hired guns, but these two caught my eye. I never pursue them because I don't like hitting on girls at their work. Mostly because I don't want any future transactions to be awkward. The cashier girl is just totally my type (which I don't find often) and I want to pursue her without screwing it up.

I totally agree. I know the hairdresser. We worked together at a retail store a few years back. I had a thing back then for her, but never pursued because I was going to be leaving for 6 months and didn't want it to happen then.
