I don't really think its that rare. I think its a combination of the price and finding one that works without making you crazy. I know a lot of women who spent years trying different kinds of BC and gave up because they didn't want to pay to keep trying things that they didn't like. Its the same with anti-depressents and other mental health drugs. Its hard to be committed to finding the right medicine when its so expensive to try things that don't work. I wouldn't be surprised if marriages where the woman earns more results in less divorce. Most divorce is about financial disagreement; if the woman earn more or about the same as their husband, there's probably less argument.

Its not just childbirth though, it's 9 months of changing hormones and physical disability. We should just not send unwilling people to war or force women to have children. Men are more than killing machines and women are more than just baby making machines.

If it was enforced like the draft, it sure would. Forcing a women to have a child she doesn't want would be very similar to forcing a man into a war he doesn't want to be a part of.

Not really. Both would result in PTSD, but I would have a better chance surviving childbirth than being thrown into some unnecessary war.
